...Al Murray got 300 odd votes!
-
He said he would resign if he didnt win the seat...

I would argue that all those Green party voters all over the country bar one consituency would argue otherwise. A few close calls but only in less than 1% of constiuencies. So I would have to disagree generally on that statement mate - Richmond was a pretty much a forgone conclusion here...

Find out if you can what the write off was for - there is a lot of confusion around cat d vs cat c write offs, the only difference is the value of the damage, cat d can have chasis damage as bad as a cat c just depends on whats happened. It could be that the car was vandalised and every panel keyed and tyres and wheels damaged or it could have been driven into a tree. If you are going to go cat c then take a few experienced heads along and go over the car with a fine tooth comb looking for any strucutral damage and if you can get pictures of the damage and repairs.

I guess the reverse applies then? People that come onto this forum and rave about a trader after having been sent a car part, in some packaging, on time - which is hardly above and beyond and worth the postive review, we see it all the time on here. From what I saw, the OP had a bad experience, by whatever means, whats relevant is that it was in his opinion that bad that he felt the need to post something up. He had a bit of a rant but also tried to scope it out in a somewhat structured way - as a business you are always going to have people complain (as you rightly pointed out Jmanji) it was a great opportunity (in my humble opinion) for TL to be the bigger man, explain what happened from their perspective in a rational and calm manner and simply put an end to it but it only seemed to divide opinion and annoy the OP even more - but thats my opinion and its not my business so my view is pretty much irrelevant (as are most of our views on this thread!), Greg has chosen to deal with this in his way.

Glad you sorted your purchase, as you say move on and make the most of the forum. Plenty of London members it seems so maybe a few meets are in order.

Bought mine off ebay I think

Saw someone with one on the train this morning, ugly as sin - didnt realise how bulky and cheap they looked!
-
Bloody hell, thats a bit nasty mate! Reminds me of that Top Gear challenge where they tested the interior and found traces of faeces, spewtum and sperm in the cars I wonder if it would be better to buy an upgraded interior than a full clean?

Indeed, its 20th birthday this year

You only noticed how tall she was..?

No fading at all, history of it is that is has had one rich owner in Japan (have the address!) who sold it out on import to the guy I bought it from who is a car collector here in the UK. So sat in his lock up since 2009 alongside various vintage 911s etc doing about 1000 miles over 6 years and only got sold to me as he was spending so much time on the Escort Cosworth he just bought with 13k miles on it. So really hadnt been exposed to the sun in its life and hence the oxidisation hasnt really had a chance to start on the paintwork. I did all my work today by hand, but already brought up a nice gleam to it. I would imagine a machine polish would really take it a few steps on.

Cheers mate, I didnt have time to fire up the rotary and get the PlastX on the lights which could do with a polish but might have a go tonight. Like some cars (RX8 for instance) when you photograph them they look a bit odd but in the metal they are pretty good looking cars, do need the spats on though!

First chance in a month to properly give the GT4 a bit of love and attention. G3 Detox shampoo, came across a bottle of AG Ultra Deep Shine so put that on, followed by Dodo Juince Supernatural wax and some metal polish on the exhaust. Waxed the wheels, tyre dressing, Fast Glass all around, Nanolex Trim Rejuventor on the inside, Leather Care Balm for the seats and then ran out of time as had to go for a walk with the family in the unexpected sunshine! Damn she is a sexy beast of a car

Sounds like something Greg needs to address then in terms of staff training.

Just went and checked and the person has removed their note and left mine there! Some people have their own little silly world they live in I guess where all their bizarre behaviour makes lots of sense...

Cheers mate, no knock as of yet. The car is loud but I use it once or twice a week and it runs for no more than a minute before I take it around the corner to warm up where it's less residential....like most people like this they haven't got the balls to actually approach someone but think they are very clever leaving sarcastic whinging notes. I think that would be worth a go (although appreciate your car is slightly more special in terms of tuning than most ) - average gain across the range is definitely a really good stat and much more useful than peak bhp - even average across the everyday usable range ie not to the redline, I dont rev to the red in every gear

Last one I watched was Haye vs Klitschko (or however its spelt) went to the pub, every waited for it, started late and was boring as hell. Used to love watching the Benn vs Eubank fights, Tyson, Lewis etc was super eventful and often lived up to the billing.
-
Aye yeah there will be those moments (maybe more often for you Adrian than most of us!! ) but in getting there you are looking at less bhp from 800 through to 5800 - its that average between the two which is more reflective of the map and which will be used more often.

I didnt see the fight but I thought the marketing guys did a great job of making something out of two blokes the wrong side of 35 and probably past their best having a fight just a few years too late...didnt sound an exceptionally exciting affair unless you are someone who appreciates the technical skills of defensive boxing.

This. Its not a lot, you get a 'feeling' that the car is quicker and more responsive but hey placebo and all that. It's not really a placebo effect when you compare the two graphs, what you'll find that although you gain 10-20bhp peak figures at the top end the gains in the mid range and low down is what makes it feel quicker and more responsive. I tend to ignore peak figures and to be honest I am not sure why tuners seem to have them printed out on dynos and make a point of highlighting them (well I do, its a great way to justify the outlay) but peak gains on their own mean very little - you wont be driving with 15-20 bhp gain at all times, thats what I mean by the placebo effect - people see their one max gain figure and 'believe' they have that on tap which they dont. The more usefulinformation is average gain over the whole graph (why is this never shown if you have all the points on the chart its an easy calculation) was more like 5bhp (well it was on mine anyway) - so yes you get 15bhp say at 5800rpm but how often do you spend time driving in that range? Gains around the 2000-3000rpm mark are whats important for day to day driving and are usually around the 5-10bhp mark and to be honest on a car starting out around 260-280 its not something you will notice - it does smoothen the power delivery though.

Boss of the building company came around the other night, said he would pay in full, in cash direct to my bank account - so just a case of getting it over to TGM now for its repair. In other news, I jumped in the car yesterday at 8:50am to go view a replacement for the dead Focus (which we bought, lovely blue megane) and this morning found one of my lovely neighbours had left a note on my car "You migth have a lovely and beautiful car but warming it up at 8AM ON A SATURDAY is not very nice, do not do it again" So I wrote another note, left it on my car for them to find today "I wasn't warming it up, I live at [insert address here], if you would like an adult conversation about it please come and knock today" Lets see what happens...

Yeah sitting on the moby and ignoring a customer, regardless of the situ is not good, he should have been all over that situation and ready to jump when you wanted him to. A good salesman should never let a customer wander off without realising what was going on, if you have felt hard done by, regardless of the who what why when etc, then that is not a good result for them. But dont give up yet, give it another go and see if it was a one off and take it from there. Dont let emotion get in the way of good business!
