  1. Real easy. 30min job. Just be careful removing the boot lid trim not to snap any fastners. You can also remove the weight that's housed in the same compartment - i think there are 4 bolts that hold it in place. I found no detriment in opening and closing boot lid with the weight removed. I think with wiper motor+wiper arm+this aforementioned weight removed comes to around 2 to 3 kilo weight saving - every little helps! p.s. I think I used 25mm grommet for wiper arm hole and 20mm grommet for washer nozzle - bought from Halfords. Cheers, Scotty
  2. Here you go. No regrets removing the rear wiper. Been done about 18 months and not missed at all. Does improve the look of the car. I also removed the water nozzle and fitted two grommets, really "smooths" out the rear. Cheers, Scotty
  3. I'm having the windsreen replaced next week due to a large crack that appeared after a stone impact. Has anyone had theirs replaced and how did the fitting go. Any horror stories or is it staight forward? Anything I should notify the fitter about before he starts work on it? I'm going through the insurance so Autoglass will be the repairer. Any advice appreciated. Cheers, Scotty
  4. CS are based in Leicester. I have used them loads for my 370Z. Give Mitz a PM he'll sort you out. Andy the mechanic does a top job. Thoroughly recommend these guys.
  5. Sorry, but I have to take umbrage with that. How can an individual's opinion on what is or is not fast enough or, more importantly, fun enough, ever be considered fact? Yes, I have the best of both worlds, but if the 911 was to go (and it was up for sale for a good few months) then I'd only have the MX-5 and that would've more than satisfied me in terms of driving experience. If a car needs masses of power to be fun then it's not a very good car, simple as. An Elise S1 will struggle to be any quicker than a diesel Mondeo, but I'd suggest that the Lotus is about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on when it comes to cars. If you want to be like that, then 370 offers very little: It's heavy, makes a terrible noise, and on the roads will be left for dead by an RS Megane. Why spend £30K on a car that doesn't offer the full experience? Can't see the 370 being "left for dead" by the RS Megane on dry roads.
  6. I went from a lowered brand new top of the range MX-5 to a brand new 370Z and whilst the MX-5 was supreme at steering and handling the 370Z was just so much more fun having far more grunt. I just can't help thinking that the GT86/BRZ is a little under powered and you might get bored of it. They should have given it around 250bhp. Cheers, Scotty
  7. Great thread to read whilst borrowing the wife's IPad sunning it over the pond in Florida. George, I really like your Nismo, just a quick question - how does the exhaust sound compared to your previous Akrapovic/Berks combo? Has anyone mentioned the Mercedes A45 AMG? I believe that is in the same price region as the Nismo and is definitely on my short list when I come to change in maybe 12-24 months. Cheers, Scotty
  8. Am I right in thinking that the maximum power that can be extracted from the 370 engine with all the aftermarket breather/exhaust mods, uprev remap - in fact anything APART from Forced Induction, is around 340 - 350 BHP at the CRANK. This figure is what mine is running at and also the new Nismo. Just curious. Cheers, Scotty
  9. I went for the Akrapovic full system mainly because I wanted top build quality - I wasn't disappointed, although it might be a little quiet for some hence why I went for the Berks HFC's at the same time. The Berks HFC's make a big difference and with the combo I've got now I wouldn't want it any louder. If I had my time again it would be a close call between the HKS Hi Power and the Akrapovic - both high end systems that cost similar money although I must admit the HKS does look rather special. As always you get what you pay for.
  10. As I found out - much to my annoyance! Mine were a right bugger to get off because I'd massively over tightened them.
  11. That is just so annoying and is why if you cherish your car always park far away from the entrance. I've had my 370 nearly two and a half years and go to the supermarket about once a week and not one dink, dent or scuff. My wife's company car also visits plenty of supermarkets, car parks and so on and she parks as close as she can get to the entrance. Needless to say her car peppered with dinks, dents and scuffs. Hope you find the culprit!
  12. Out of interest, what size spacer have you opted for on the rear (assuming you have gone for 25mm on the front)? Cheers, Scotty
  13. This is normal - I've had it with mine since new and that was two and a half years ago. I've spoke to Colliers Nissan (which is a HPC) and they have re-assured me that this rattle with the clutch OUT at idle is normal. Cheers, Scotty
  14. Many thanks to Paul at Chris Knott insurance who gave me a cracking deal today of £400 on my 370Z with modifications insured on a like for like basis. Tried all the 'usual suspects' and on this occasion Chris Knott were best. Definately worth ringing around to achieve a good deal. Well Chuffed. Scotty
  15. One pair of 370Z Eibach 25mm Spacers for sale. They are around a year old. One of the nuts will need replacing as it was a bit of a pig to get off (see photo). Mitz at CS can supply new nuts for around £4. Price is £65 pick up or £72 delivered. I live 10 mins from Junction 20 M1 in South Leicestershire. These retail for around £130 so grab yourself a bargain! Cheers, Scotty
  16. Adding High Flow Cats and Fitting an aftermarket exhaust does make a massive difference although might be a bit extreme for some. I went straight from OEM cats+exhaust to Berk HFC's and full Akrapovic exhaust which cost around £2400 for both. Alot of money but the quality of the Akrapovic is outstanding and the sound is superb (although I wouldn't want it any louder). Throttle response was improved and the engine seemed less harsh sounding. If you find yourself in the Leicestershire area I'm more than happy to give you a demo. Cheers, Scotty
  17. That's a good price for what looks and sounds a mint car. What's the reason for selling if you don't mind me asking?
  18. I'm lowered on Swift springs and have 25mm Eibach spacers all round. I've found 25mm on the front is perfectly flush but 25mm on the back gives a little poke. It's bugged me so much that I'm changing to 20mm on the rear which should give me flush with wheel arch.
  19. Price drop to £22 including delivery - that's about a third of the new price! Cheers, Scotty
  20. Did some research on puncture repairs and it appears that there is a British Standard for punctures - BS AU159. With regard to 245mm width tyres the penetration has to be within the middle 172mm of the tyre and for 275mm width tyres the penetration has to be the middle 193mm of the tyre. Thought this might be of use when deciding whether to repair or replace. Also worth noting that tyres repaired to BS AU159 are able to operate at their original speed and load capabilities. Cheers, Scotty
  21. I have for sale a set of 370Z coupe OEM springs. They have covered around 4000 miles and are in almost new condition as you would expect with such little milage covered. Price is £40.00. Collection welcome. I live in south Leicestershire just 10 mins from junction 20 M1. I can also send these Parcelforce for around £17.00. Cheers, Scotty
  22. I have for sale a pair of used HKS Super Hybrid Air Filters that have covered around 4000 miles and are in good condition with plenty of life left in them as you can see from the photo. I had them in my 370 but also think they will fit a 350HR but not entirely sure so please verify first. Only reason for selling is that insurance renewal is due soon and need to get best price so one less mod hopefully will help. Price is £26.00 delivered. I think they cost me around £65.00. Cheers, Scotty
