  1. Uprev results courtesy of Abbey Motorsport. Mods (as listed in signiture) have been on for a while so the results are purely the gain from the remap. Fuel is Shell V-power. Power(bhp at Hubs): 290.8 to 306.5 gain= 15.7bhp. Torque(lbft) : 252.3 to 262.9 gain= 10.6lbft. 5 Maps installed and controlled via cruise control button. Each map varies the throttle response with map One being the tamest and map Five being the fiercest. In reality there's not a great deal of difference between them. First impressions - This car is bloody quick! An impressive difference between before and after the Uprev although the traction control kicks in considerably more (a suspension mod might be required to reduce that). Well worth the money. Cheers, Scotty
  2. That looks a top quality job. Where do you put the tools now and how much did it cost? oh and welcome to the forum!
  3. I had the exhaust done at the same time as the HFCs and found that the engine was less harsh/smoother at high revs. I'm going for the remap with Abbey Motorsport at the start of March so will be writing a bit of a review then. You need to tell the insurance company otherwise you run the risk of your policy being voided if after a incident it has been discovered the ECU had been performance enhanced.
  4. My car is due it's first service at the start of March so was thinking of taking it to Abbey for that and also getting it remapped to suit my Mods. Has anyone had an Uprev remap done recently and if so were you happy with results and in what ways did the performance improve? Cheers, Scotty
  5. That "sucking" or shall I call it 'hissing' sound is exactly what I get with my Akrapovic/Berk HFC combo. Cheers, Scotty
  6. I get the hissing noise when NOT in gear when revving the engine - as the revs come down just before idle (say 3000rpm to idle) then I get the hissing noise that lasts for half a second or so. I've heard it loads on youtube when people post their vids of their new exhausts - it's when they rev their car at standstill. The subject of hissing and aftermarket exhausts and HFC's is well documented on the American 370Z forum. Let me know if and when UPEV remap can help as I will need to pay you a visit at that point! Cheers, Scotty
  7. I did loads of research before settling for Akrapovic/Berk combo. I'm sure I read/heard bad reports on the stateside 370Z forum and youtube about fitting HFC's to the stock exhaust with regards to bad 'hissing noise'. I do get a bit of the hissing noise on my system when at around 3000 rpm when lifting off the gas and to be honest i'd sooner it not be there. Go on youtube, put in 370Z HFC and let the hissing begin! Scotty
  8. If no one else has this issue then I'll contact a Nissan HPC. Might just be me being too aggressive/clumsy. Strange how whilst on maximum attack it's only 3rd to 4th gear change that is difficult but when driving 'normally' or even 'spirited' there are no issues whatsoever. Cheers, Scotty
  9. Does anyone else have a bit of a problem when giving it some welly and fast gear changing from 3rd to 4th? Sometimes I struggle to get it to go into 4th gear when performing fast gear changes and it either stays in neutral until 'eventually' finding 4th or slips into 6th. Curious to know whether others have this issue. Cheers, Scotty.
  10. I found the engine harsh at high revs. I then had an Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust system fitted at the same time as the Berk High Flow Catalytic Converters for around £2400 fitted. The harshness has now gone, the engine is alot more free revving, the car is definately quicker and now it sounds like a sports car should with around 340 BHP. Also the exhaust looks so much better than the standard one. I bought my car new in March and had the above fitted in June and have absolutely no regrets whatsoever - it really did change the car! No doubt with the amazing deal you will get if you do your research, sorting the exhaust out should shouldn't be too painful on the old wallet! Cheers, Scotty
  11. Very pleased with the end result. No more scraping!
  12. Hi, Quick look on Autotrader - 370Z 60 plate Auto in grey with 10 miles (yes Ten miles)! on the clock - £26995 less any haggling, which gives you plenty left over to get a decent exhaust! Good luck, Scotty.
  13. Hi mate. My 370 replaced my GTR and its smaller size is its greatest asset :-) The GTR is an awesome beast but one hell of a bugger to park! It's a bit too wide and long in my opinion. I miss the horses though! So why the change - GTR to 370?
  14. Quality!!!!!!!! No engine light. Not even with the Berks fitted. Will be having Uprev remap from Abbey soon and then that's it. I spend not a penny more!
  15. That must be a nightmare! Yep Storm White. I'll get some photos up over the weekend. Got the new exhaust booked for 26th Which exhaust have you gone for? Scotty
  16. Yes. Its different to the 350z though. It has much larger rubber air deflectors on the lip of the bumper and also directly in front of the front wheels. I find its the one by the wheels that catches the most, but no more than my 350z used to catch things. TBH compared to a "normal" car it catches more, but compared to other sports cars its no different really. You do have to crawl over everything but thats not the end of the world. And its better than catching the actual bumper Be interested to see the high speed handling results of removing it Scotty I believe the base model in the states doesn't come with the front chin aero deflector. I've left the wheel aero deflectors ON as they look ok and are far more flexible and as for any difference in handling (bearing in mind it's been off for a month now) I can't feel any at all but then again I doubt I push the car to limits where it's effect would be noticable. Hopefully I'll get some pics up next week. Cheers, Scotty
  17. According to the sales brochure I've still got "uphill start support" is for the manual only.
  18. Could not take the scraping any longer! The Black plastic front chin has been removed. The final straw was when having the exhaust done. Not a problem going on to the car lift, but when coming off managed to tear off from the pop rivets. Also found parking up to a kerb a bit of a problem. Saw a few pictures on the stateside 370Z forum of them removed and thought that looks alot better than my damaged and scraped chin! Will post some pics once the holes have been professionally repaired and painted. Anyone else had problems with their chin! Scotty
  19. I'm 5' 10" and do find the steering wheel a bit too far away compared to others cars I've had but have just about got used to it. Scotty
  20. I have an 11 plate GT manual and it definately has hill start assist which operates automatically. I guess go out and find some gradients to see at which point it kicks in!
  21. Sounds like the car in the youtube clip might be also running HFC's or Decat pipes as you can really hear the hiss when getting off the gas. Anyway if you go for the GTHAUS then your a braver guy than me
  22. Can anyone recommend a quality car detailer in the East Midlands area? Cheers, Scotty
  23. HKS Super Hybrid Filter now fitted courtesy of ZMANALEX. Now ready for UPREV!
  24. Has anyone fitted K&N replacement air filters and if so did they notice any difference? As I've now got the Akarapovic exhaust and Berk HFC's fitted my next step is going to be Uprev but was thinking maybe change to K&N panel filters before remap or is it not worth it and just leave OEM filters in? Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers, Scotty
