  1. calipers / wheels will not expand by 3mm even if you heat them to melting point! 3mm spacers will be fine if you are only just grazing them now
  2. sipar69, Positano was beautiful... definitely hire a boat from the beach and go up the coast as its the best way to see it. we kinda wished we had more time to do a boat trip to Capri but I guess it gives us an excuse to go back have a great trip
  3. Brummiestormer. no we had no issues whatsoever. we like you were a little worried about that section as I had heard all sorts of stories but to be fair its such a short run along the corridor and everyone we spoke to along the coast said it would be fine we went for it. glad we did as the alternatives were long and would have meant we had less time in Dubrovnic. go for it.... you will have no issues other than a short wait to get into and back out of Bosnia ;-)
  4. messing with tyre sizes front to rear CAN cause problems with the traction control
  5. V4 next?... RSV4r.. quicker than all the other V's..
  6. when I was driving hairpins and bends in the Alps with significant drops and varied road conditions.... yes driving to the shops to buy milk.. no
  7. have been using Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's and have to say I really rate them... ok not as good as the MPSS but in real world day to day driving I am not sure the MPSS are worth the extra money
  8. we have a Montana Clematis on a north facing fence and it grows like wildfire! looks great every year but does need a bit of care each week to either train it where you want it or trim it back to keep it in check
  9. you stand at the side of the road and greatly over exaggerate for dramatic effect
  10. where is it posted they were doing 125mph... having driven only recently along many high alpine passes I would be amazed if you could reach 125mph I will admit to pushing along on some of the passes, who here wouldn't, but as soon as you start to race others on the road let alone a high alpine pass you are asking for trouble silly way to lose your life and I can only imagine the terror as they wet through the rail...
  11. and yet you still somehow find the time to post on here saying you don't have time.... amazeballs... lol
  12. we prebooked in locations we knew were going to be busy such as the towns in Croatia and on the Amalfi coast but other than that we just drove and winged it.. we really lucked out on a few hotels getting some really nice ones along the way
  13. just back from a much longer trip than this but took in most of the roads you mention and at some point over the last three years have done pretty much all of them plus a LOT of others. as people have said it will be busy in August! Italy (yes all of Italy) basically goes on holiday in august and lots of them take their bikes and head for the mountains enjoy! Grimsel / Furka / Gothard area is one of my favourite bits of road anywhere http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/100067-euro-adventure-picture-heavy/
  14. No problems, happy to pass on any info on routes and places to stay. over the last 3 years we have covered most of the Alps from west to east (Verdon Gorge all the way up into the Dolomites) taking in pretty much all the main passes and a lot of the minor ones
  15. seriously I have 1200 pictures! we pre booked hotels in the tourist areas such as the Amalfi coast and the towns in Croatia and we also booked the first night in Germany but other than that we took pot luck as we were not sure where we would be each night, we had an idea which area but not exactly which town. gives you loads of flexibility to stop where you like
