  2. Anyone know where I can get an AEM replacment cone? Recon I need to whip it off and measure it up? OR do peeps think they know what I need. If it is going to be like £80.... would it be cheaper to try to source a post '06 box instead?

  5. Compressors are RENOUND for being pricey... for NO reason! My previous car's compressor went (SEAT Leon Smoker) ... the stealers wanted like £1500 for it... AND fitting on top! I went to my "kind of local" Air-Con place in Brum. Cost me £700 all in. Including compressor, re-gas, service, filters AND labour! I'd be ringing round my local places if I were you Find out the part number first mind
  6. My Gran and Granddad are buried at the Crem where the service is going to be. I know I can park over that way, which is kind of away from the chapel itself. Was thinking I should do that anyway.
  7. Yeah, been wondering about that myself. I only Met Ian a few times but my sister and her husband were good friends. My brother-in-law can't get the time off work, so my sister has asked if I will take her. Problem is, my only mode of transport is the Zed. Will it be a real fopar if I arrive in my car?
  8. Cheers bud... But does that mean that YOUR drivers door has dropped as well? Im kinda paranoid about my doors. Want to be sure they stay nice and sealed as my last car leaked and was a nightmare, as it was always misting up and had that awful damp smell... Thanks for popping out and looking!
  9. bump.... anyone let me know if this is normal? Presuming as they are different from driver to passenger that the drivers side has dropped.... Anyone?
  10. Yup... UK car. Says so in the V5 To be honest, he MIGHT have just been talking about the mechanical stuff. I think I need to get her up on some axle stands and have a look myself
  11. Yeah... Cheers AGAIN for that my good man She is fine after about 1 min once warmed up... or after you do 10-20meters in a gear. Just going to put it down to nothing
  12. Couldn't make the meet at the Tavern. Ian's funeral is on the 7th October. I will be taking my sister as they were good friends. Don't suppose anyone else will be attending?
  13. That is some MEAN skillz! Did you have any sewing experience before? Or did you just dive into it to see what you could do?
  14. Nice one Colin! Will try in a bit...
  15. My 03 only opens the drivers side with one press... Need two for both doors... Interested to see if you can do this!
  16. Yeah, cement mixer is probably the closest description.... Will do a little research on Release Bearings... Thanks bud!
  17. Might see who does what nearby. Would be good to get it sorted before winter... and before it gets any worse. Cheers... Hey, wanna shoot the breeze for the next 16 posts? very close to a grand my good man!
  18. When I first start her in the mornings... there is the lovely sound from the engine. Clutch depressed, obviously. Then when I bring up the clutch for the first time (usually reverse) there is an awful sound. Depress the clutch and it carry's on. Only stops when I do more than 5 mph (in 1st or reverse).... then never starts again, till the next time I start her from cold. Anyone else have this?
  19. When I was having my wheels alligned... the guy who did them commented on how rusty she was underneath.... for such a NEW car! Got my private plate one, not sure how young he though my 2003 motor was! Anyway, is there anything I can do about my general rusting underneath? He didn't go into much detail and I can't really get under her to have a good look..... Anyone know if I should get her Shultz'd or something?
  20. Can anyone point me to a post recommending all the different oils for changing? Think I want to change EVERYTHING in the car... just so I know it has been done. Sure I saw a post for it somewhere, searched but the bloomin' search function won't accept words with only three letters... i.e.. OIL Anyone help me out? Engine, transmission, axle.... etc.... everything! I have decided I am going to go down the OEM route and get her into tip top perfect original condition (as far as I can!) Cheers peeps!
  21. I have two door related Q's... First of all... I think my drivers door has dropped slightly. Can anyone tell me if they think it has, and how easy this is to rectify yourself? Drivers... (Not a great photo, but the gap is pretty big! Passengers... Also on the drivers side, the little triangle at the top of the wing mirror mount has split... Anyone know if it is easy to replace? Drivers... Passengers...
  22. My sister took her Twingo to the stealers for an MOT, they said she needed a new driver seat in her 4 year old car! She took it to task... took the written report they did to her local VOSA center, they checked it and said there was NOTHING wrong with it! VOSA are currently investigating My sister LOOKS like a typical Dizzy Blonde, and they obviously thought they could screw her out of £500 odd quid. Little did they know she used to work on the front desk at an AUDI Parts/Service section at her local dealers. Glad your girlfriend if clever enough to raise it and not just pay.
  23. Q. What is Alezan? A. This is a colour (supposedly to reflect the name of a breed of horse with the same name) which the was an option for seats (and steering wheel) on the GT car.
