  1. So i got bored and decided to decorate the Landy for Christmas
  2. I took off my k&n to get a hole sorted, popped on the standard airbox (with VS mod) and the sound it gives now is amazing, it's all exhaust note which i like. Totally different sound from the k&n, more refined even. As much as i loved the sound the K&N gave i don't know if i'll put it back on now. Time shall tell
  3. I'm loving the colour scheme so far! What's the final colour for the car going to be. Or will you leave us in suspense...
  4. Love how quickly some people can think up songs!
  5. No, you will retain cruise control
  6. Ah that's reassuring, i didn't think it would affect it but one never knows! So reading 110+psi is perfectly acceptable and safe then?
  7. Just noticed earlier that my oil pressure was reading quite high. At around 2000rpm it's about 60psi but as you increase the revs it goes up to about 110+ psi at high revs. I've just changed over the air filter from a k&n back to the stock air filter as i need to sort a problem with the k&n. Could this cause the high oil pressure issue? Just had it serviced on Friday and it was running fine at the weekend when i went for a long run. Thanks
  8. I've just had similar misfiring issues, turns out it was the spark plugs needing changed. Have a quick look at them, see what kinda state they're in.
  9. If it's only a 3 minute drive i'd contemplate walking to work to be honest!
  10. I was wondering if it could be that too... Is there a way to check to find out? It's been running fine today, heading out in a bit so shall see how it is.
  11. I'd just finished fitting Cookbot's autofold mod, and accidentally ground it against the door. Wee spark and the fuse blew. So headed off to Halfords to grab a new fuse. On the way there sitting at the lights the car started shaking, fairly noticeably and the idle dropped a few hundred rpm. Also the exhaust note sounded a lot different, I was just round the corner so drove slowly to the car park. Left the car idling and it was sounding rough. Blipped the throttle and you could hear it popping, no bangs, just loud pops. So i switched off the car, had a good look under the hood to see if there were any loose hoses etc, let it sit for a wee while and started her up. Everything was fine. So fixed the fuse and headed home. When i got back sat idling for a while so i could read the OBD2 and see if there were any errors stored (there wasn't) and again it started sounding a bit unhealthy, but nowhere near as bad as before. It's just ticked 40,000 miles and i've done about 400 miles in the past few days. It's also due its P3 service fairly soon so the spark plugs will be done then. So what do you guys think? Spark plugs, or something more sinister? Should i get her booked in for her service ASAP or see if it happens again? I'm doubting earthing cookbot's module caused it, but to be sure i've now covered it so earthing can not happen again.
  12. Sounds similar to when i tore my cartilage. Go get it checked out. I ended up needing keyhole surgery and they found out i'd snapped my ACL too Good news is once i got operated on i was back to normal.
  13. August AAS Photography, (can access non water marked high res version)
  14. I picked on up in Egypt last year whilst on a windaurfing holiday for a fiver. Knew it was a con but i like telling people it gives me super powers. Plus i've only fallen over twice this year so maybe it does help
  15. Welcome. If you're needing any advice etc there's a few of us up here to help :)Welcome. If you're needing any advice etc there's a few of us up here to help
  16. Im planning to fit this when im back home. not cookbots but from the original plans. if it's successful we can get it done to yours if you still havent found a unit
  17. Although there are a lot of zeds in Aberdeen and surrounding area i've only physically met three others over the course of a year (four if you count who i bought the car from) It seems that getting everyone in the same place at the same time is quite difficult due to other commitments/work/car not being on the road. Up here however we have our own mini meets (Team Beard meets if anyone's from Aberdeenshire is interested there's a Facebook page) Quite often these involve other owners clubs such as GTROC / SXOC etc etc. We tend to have semi regular car park static meets. Usually a post goes up randomly and those that can make it come. Can be anywhere from 5 to 30 cars turning up. I think the problem is getting just specifically Z's involved. At the end of the day we're all petrolheads deep down and widening the scope to include other marques will present a wider audience. For example i went to Suprapod this year (1800 mile round trip), not that i am converting to a Supra, but more for the social aspect and meeting new friends which i successfully did. Which by the way has resulted in us being asked if the Zed community would like to attend next year to boost their numbers and make it a bigger event. Hopefully through more regular meets owners who might not have come to something smaller will be more enamored to turn up and thus increase the zed community at such gatherings. 18. For those of us with proper phones, the game is also available on Android 27.50 - for bloomburg (ive been playing non stop at work, thank goodness for usb charging in vehicles)
  19. Silly vague question here but how far does a bottle of NOS last on average? I'm guessing it all depends on how it's being driven full throttle or not. But would a bottle (obviously depending on size) last a few hours at knockhill or a few laps?
  20. When I brought my zed in to be mapped at Rstuning they found it to be running dangerously lean. They thought it may have been the plenum spacer, which thankfully I'd only fitted the week before. All sorted during the remap and car's running like a dream. Fyi I've got plenum spacer, hfcs, exhaust and cai fitted.
  21. I let mine go by over a year, and had lost all paperwork. i simply phoned up the DVLA, explained the situation and the nice lady told me to send them a cheque and a week later the paperwork turned up and i put my plate back on! call them, best thing you can do.
  22. Take up cycling and see how annoying it is when cars feel it's perfectly safe to pass a couple of inches from you at 60mph. Then realise why they cycle 2-3 abreast to create a safer pack forcing cars to slow down and pass them by at a safer distance.
  23. Shame you didn't come over, we had our wasp swatting guys in action keeping us safe. Did you guys have the black zed? Jamie's Supra was amazing, first car i drove against! I actually beat him too, but he was having problems... i still beat him though yeah? Not sure if these vids will work but if they do here's me beating Jamie http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=896514012181 http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=896518732721
  24. Travelled down to Suprapod this weekend from Aberdeen with a few folk off the mkivsupra.net forum this weekend. Decided to head down a day early and get the car tuned at RSTuning in Leeds. Turns out the engine was running very lean which has now been rectified and she is driving so much better now, it's like driving a different car. In the end she reached 272 HP with 252 Ftlb. So we left Leeds with enough electronics to succesfully sink a ship and still managed to get lost several time thanks to co-pilot being a numpty After our rendezvous with the Supra guys at a service station we made it to the hotel in Wellingborough. Headed to Supra Racing Designs for a BBQ on the Friday, what an amazing place. Can't help but be impressed with some of the cars these guys are working on! After a quiet Friday night... It was off to Santa Pod for the event, now i could upload a few thousand pictures of Supras here, but be thankful i won't. Instead here's a link to pics for those that are interested - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread ... deo-thread Grabbed a spot of lunch So what else is there to do when you're at a drag strip with a RWYB event going on Drag racing has to be the most fun ever. Raced against a bunch of NA Supras and thankfully beat them. Sadly the TT ones were a wee bit faster and the 1200bhp ones were just ridiculous! My best 1/4 mile time was 14.4229 @ 99.28mph I did take a wee trip to Zedfest on the Sunday with another forum member (Blackie who has some more pics) but we turned up at 1pm and everyone had left... so chatted to a few guys for ten mins and headed back! And just as the trip had started a horrendously long drive home. Thankfully cruise control came into its own here! Wee pit stop in Dundee to sort a flappy splitter A huge thanks goes to Ailsa, our official Team Beard photographer. I think you'll agree with me that she takes a good picture And as per usual my navigator was being rubbish Amazing weekend overall. Made a heap of new friends and had far too much fun in the Zed! Roll on next year
