    03-06 BHP?

Insurance companies often get it wrong, I remember some posts about the 370Z which some companies think is a 3.8 (or is that 3.9) Pete
  4. This. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... quest.html Sadly, there have been others too. Pete
  5. Obviously enjoying it by now . Welcome to the forums Pete
  6. Why would you stretch your budget for a MY03 car? If your going to stretch the budget, get a MY06....... Well, the facelift model came out in 2006 and is known as the MY06, 2003-2005 models are known as MY03. As I understand it, the last of the MY03 models were built in 2005 although a few can be found on 06 plates and a handful on 56 plates. Pete
  7. I blew a tyre on a 250bhp 3.7 Mitsubishi Eclipse hire car in The States. Had no option but to fit the space saver and drove approx 35 miles on it. Kept my speed down to 45 max, took it easy especially on corners..no problems. The other option is for someone to loan you a Ray Pete
  8. Once my original exhaust falls off (probably next winter) then I'll replace it with a Scorpion, I'm in the top age group Pete
  9. Had them done in Saltney, Greeny had his done there too. http://www.smartrepaircompany.co.uk/ I only had the lips done, they were in a shocking state at £40 per wheel plus VAT. To have the entire wheels done would have been like £150 a wheel, bear in mind though that these are machine polished 20" with a big lip and needed quite a lot of work. Pete
  10. Looks really good . Mine has quite a few scratches on here too despite me being super careful, wrapping seems to be a good solution. Pete
  11. Just whizz the wheel off and check for any buckling. Zed's seem to be pretty tough when it comes to potholes, I hit a massive one during the winter also at about 30 and couldn't find any damage at all. Pete
  12. O.K, now fixed . The guy who did it said it wasn't the first time he'd put a tyre on the wrong way around and it won't be the last . They had a nice DB9 in there having a wheel refurb, apparently a hire car! Pete

Sounds about right to me. Paid just over £300 for mine and a similar price for painting. They are a straight swap. I think the thing I got stung for was buying all new rubbers for the new bonnet as I sold my old one with all the rubbers in. Think Nissan charged something in the region of about £80 for ruber bits!! Yeah, good point about about the rubbers the bulge bonnets don't come with them. The ones from the old bonnet will fit but I think one of them needs a bit of adjusting. Pete
  14. That's similar to how they do it in The States, mate of mine had a collision at an Intersection, Police arrived, weighed the situation up then cited him and issued him with a fine which he had to pay right away. Saves loads of paperwork I guess . As far as undertaking goes, well, it's allowed in The States, one of the reasons (there are others) why the death rate is 3x the rate here. IMHO, lane discipline is extremely important, It's been a few years since I drove on a really busy Motorway like The M25 but from what I remember it was nothing like driving on The Interstate in Denver with cars, trucks, buses switching lanes randomly, I don't think I've ever been so for such a period of time while driving. Pete
  15. Oh Dear, took Carolines Roadster for its first MOT today and it failed. Can you believe that when I took it to have the wheels refurbed they put one of the rear tyres on the wrong way around . Really surprised that nobody picked up on it at the Oulton Park meeting EDIT, Fair do's to Lookers, Chester, when I asked if I'd have to pay again (special offer of £34) they said no because someone picked it up before they actually started the test. In fact they wouldn't even take the £34 from me Pete
  16. PX'd my Celica T-Sport and made up the rest with cash from my pension fund Pete
  17. The purple poop is the worst. It's very acidic and is caused by the birds eating various berries and fruit. Pete

    Bulges

I paid £335 plus £150 to paint and fit it. Pete
  19. I've never reset the reading since I've had the car from new. It reset itself when the battery was changed 3270 miles ago and the previous reading over 6760 miles was pretty similar to the one posted below (26.2 and 28mph). I'm really more interested to see the overall performance over a long period of time (and in any case have no idea how to reset it ) Pete
  20. They're both great cars! Roadster looks a little awkward with the roof up, weighs a bit more and the boot is kinda small . On the other hand, once you put the roof down, it looks and sounds better and you don't get your head blown off at 80 like most convertibles . It's all down to personal taste in the end though. Pete
  21. Seen those black dots before, a sure sign of mould. Pete
