  1. Installed the O2 sensor and routed the wires up the original wiring loom and along the brake line and into the battery compartment. It was all going smoothly and was happy with the placement of everything, went to wire up the power to the gauge and ....... nothing nowt zip! Reconnected the tv screen that used the power wires and it worked fine, so ruled them out, then Keyser recommended I try the gauge directly against the battery and nowt! So it is either a poor join in the supplied cables or the gauge is jiggered! waiting to test the cables on monday at work with a multimeter. Then had a go at cutting out a alu plate to fill the hole and mount the gauges in.
  2. No sign of life, tried it across my hyundi's battery and nothing happened. I presume the back light should at least come on?
  3. cheers mate, will try it after I have helped strip some wall paper
  4. Sorry I forgot to mention I am not using any of the outputs on the gauge so it really is just power and ground it should need? no I have not tried the the connections over a battery (I dont have a volt meter handy), could I attach the power and negative wire directly over the car battery without a fuse?
  5. Hi guys anyone with an AEM air/fuel gauge help me out. The unit does not seem to be getting power, have connected it up to the ground and power wires previously used for my in car screen (switched from 5amp fuse to 10amp as recomended, also tried 5amp original fuse), Tried reconnecting the screen to the cables and it powers up fine, Only thing I could see as being a problem are; Gauge, supplied wires (two power and ground wires become merged as one, could be issue at this point) or power signal not clear enough for gauge? Really gutted as I took ages with the wiring to the O2 sensor and expected to plug and play after!
  6. Brilliant result mate, now be careful with all that power!
  7. Had to make space for the gauges, so removed the reverse camera and screen + all the miles of random cable. Going to cut a sheet of Aluminium to hold the gauges and fill the hole where the screen was.
  8. Clockwise Colin by circa 6 seconds. So it takes you a whole 12 going anti-clockwise :-P
  9. I hook my laptop up to my tv and use it as a second screen, not sure about desktops but most laptops nowadays have a button you can use to select which display type you want. As for that PC it looks very neat but if its only images and excel you are using it shouldnt matter much on its spec.
  10. At the moment just 1, the hdev decats only came with one spare bung for some reason, also not sure how gd condition the thread is in. I have two spare but dont want the hassle of removing the decats when i dont have access to a ramp. Also going to try and mount the gauges where the jdm satnav/rear camera screen is,but not sure if i will have space for three in there(boost and the A/F gauges).
  11. Started to install my AEM air/fuel gauge but ran out of time, will finish at the weekend. Surprising how long it takes to poke a hole through a rubber gromet using long nose pliers! Also kept changing my mind where I wanted to route the cable, and since the seibon bonnet lets in water at the back I desided not to ruin the main gromet that is used for the engine wires and use the one at the front of the battery bay, just need to cable tie it round to the back then drop it down to the tranny (hehe) bracket that the original O2 sensors are hung off. Its just hanging at the passenger footwell at the moment until I remove the centre console.
  12. bummer! feel for you mate :'(
  13. When he says vastly improves performace if he means 1-2hp mabe but anything more I would say bollocks. Pipe length, diameter and the number of bends will effect performance much more than some groves cut in a small area of a long exhaust system.
  14. Nice one Davy! Thought you were gone, last time we spoke you hadn't even test drove the 370z yet. Glad you got a nice one now to make it nicer
