  1. I was called in to the directors office yesterday. I was asked if I wanted to go to Miami for a weeks training/Partner conference... Turns out on the Wednesday and Thursday for about 4 hours I'll be doing my stuff and the rest of my time is my own. The companies paying for my girlfriend and myself to go over as we (as a company) recently moved office and as I moved all the internal IT stuff over a weekend with zero disruption on the Monday morning so its a big thank you! All I need to do is take a weeks leave... Although we'll be going a few days early and I'll be paying for a hotel for 3 days so we can see the sights etc! The trip is officially from 5th - 9th November although we'll be arriving on the 2nd. The course is actually on a cruise ship which will sail to/around the Bahamas then back to Miami on the Friday to get a flight home! Has anyone been before? How did you find it? I was looking online and I can rent a Ford Mustang GT (5.0 V8) for 3 days for £235 with unlimited mileage.. Sorry for the big message.. I'm shocked. I've only ever been to Spain and main land UK..

  3. I have not if I'm honest. I was focusing on the main belt due to the problems I had getting it to fit originally (needed a smaller belt by 5mm) I'll give that one a go as well. I think i'll be buying something similar to the product in the above link to ensure the correct tension. It cant hurt to have it if I do the belts in the future!
  4. That would be me.. I think I've seen your car parked down there also outside White star house? One thing I will say is those cobbles are slippy when it rains! There's quite a few nice cars in your car park! Give me a shout if you see me again sure.
  5. If you mean the heat shield just take the wheel off and bend it back slightly. I had to to this on both sides of my car. Takes 2 minutes plus however long it takes you to take the wheel off and put it back on
  6. Hi Folks - I changed the belts on the Z about a month or so ago as some of you might be aware. Over the past week or so on start up now that its a bit colder and that the belts have bedded in the belt seems to slip. During the weekend I popped under the car and gave the tensioner bolt another two quarter turns.. The last two days the squeak is still there. Its only there for about half a second during start-up and when I'm driving off at lights and releasing the clutch for about 1-2 minutes. It does not happen when the aircon is on so I've ruled this belt out. Once the car has ran for 30 seconds or so no matter if I turn the Aircon, Lights (all + high beam), rear demister and radio on the squeak does not appear. Now I think the answer to this is to tighten the belt based on other threads I've seen however I'm now getting a little resistance when turning the tensioner bolt so and I am getting worried about breaking something or doing damage. Is it normal to get a bit of resistance on the tensioner bolt? I am tempted to get this (http://www.amazon.com/OTC-6673-Universa ... B000I198J0) to see if the tension on the belts is right... Can anyone comment on what they think I should do? (Sorry for the Essay!)
  7. Mines doing the same thing.. its dec 2006... Give the car a wash first of all just to be sure its not dirt stuck in the sensors.. I've found mine will work if it rains heavily.. strangely enough..
  8. Hi guys - I cant find anything in the search related to my question so I'll ask in hope its not been posted before.. I have faulty parking sensors.. I can hear 3 out of 4 "clicking" when in reverse which I assume is expected.. the 4th does not.. How does one check the sensors / cables to ensure they are good? Also how do you get to the rear parking sensors to check them? Cheers! Adam.
  9. ^^ as far as I'm aware you only need to disclose it if your a dealer? Private sellers don't have to disclose it unless asked and to the best of there knowledge.. Keep looking Skidder I'm sure you'll find something soon - I thought I'd got a mint one until I heard scraping going over a speed bump.. No matter what you get you'll no doubt find something wrong with it.. most cars are 5?+ years old.. as long as its nothing major and the price is right I'd take the car and get it fixed personally..
  10. I know this is a few days out of date however I thought I'd add that the nuts should be torqued to 80 ft/lbs or 110NM
  11. Hey just so you know I have 275/35/R19 rear and 255/35/R19 on my zed and have zero problems.. if anything TC comes on a bit earlier but I get no warning lights. **Edit** just re-read and you have 245 not 255.. also for any parts

  13. Did this today it took about 20 minutes after I got the under tray off... However I found that the 6PK1173 belt was constantly slipping no matter how tight I got it.. I went to a local motor factors and got a slightly smaller belt. If anyone finds that the belt constantly slips I'd recommend; Continental Contitech 6 PK 1165 (8MM shorter than the proper gates belt)

And my last post on this today guys - The belt started to squeel again after a quick drive (checked tension and it was still the same and couldn't tighten..) anyway went down to my local motor factors and bought a belt that was 8MM shorter and so far its perfect. For info the belt I got was a Continental Contitech 6PK 1165 and on first start it was perfect
  15. OK guys.. seems I wasn't tightening it enough.. I think there was rust on the pivot screw as I just pushed on (worried about snapping the head off) and a bit of rust fell off and I could tighten it.. rain has stopped play but I tested before coming in and the noise only happened when I let the car idle and turned everything on.. then revved it getting there just a little more... Thanks for the help guys - I really do appreciate it

  18. Hey Folks I'm in the middle of doing my belts and I got the gates 4PK948 (alt belt) and 6PK1173 (main belt) however this belt seems to be ever so slightly longer than the belt coming off! This is a little strange because the belt coming off is worn so I expected it to be longer than the new one? Anyway I went ahead and fitted the belt assuming I could just tighten the pulley tensioner slightly more and the car started and ran fine until I turned on aircon + rear window demister + lights to see if I could put load on the alternator which caused the squealing.. two main questions 1) Is there a different belt for the 300 revup engine than the normal DE? 2) The pulleys where getting warm to touch which I wasn't expecting. Is this because the belts are too lose?
  19. Hi Folks - I just got in touch with the previous owner (as he still has the old centre part of the standard exhaust).. I asked him and he said that the W brace was bent and that's why it was cut out.. There's a mark on the Center pipe of the exhaust so I assume its been knocked on a speed bump or similar.. Although why it was cut and not replaced is still the question! I'll have the full standard exhaust tomorrow and as soon as the W brace arrives it'll most likely be going on if there are fitment issues. thanks for the help everyone! much appreciated!!!
  20. I noticed there's a nice dent in the centre pipe.. I'm going to wrap it in exhaust heat wrap(something like this http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product ... 73&appid=3) and put the new W Brace on until I get a better Exhaust... What's everyone's opinions?

  22. Thanks guys I'll see if I can get the exhaust moved in to the correct place! A bit gutted if I'm honest.. I noticed the bottom of the car scraping over a speed bump and checked when I seen the damage to the W Brace.. Its only tonight after jacking the car up I noticed it'd been cut in the middle.. I'm a little shocked but more annoyed that the previous owner allowed it!? :/
  23. Sorry guys I should have said - I noticed the broken W Brace and ordered a new one from Alex (been chatting to him over the last two days or so!) The previous owner had the K1 installed and I've slowly been fixing anything I've found wrong with the car...
  24. Bugger.. Anyone any ideas? is it possible to bend the K1 ? or should I just hammer it until its out of the way? Could this be why the rear end feels really really loose?
