  1. Sorry if this has been answered before.. I did search however I got no results back.. I'm looking at getting a 370z (previously having a 350z) Just wondering how to identify the cars that come equipped with premium connect. Is it any of the 2010> that have the screen/satnav?
  2. whoops! 4 years you'd think I'd know by now!
  3. So I've changed the car.. Next Friday I'm collected a Fiesta ST2. The spec I've gone for is Spirit Blue with the Style pack and Convenience pack. It should look identical to this; www.ford-retailer.com/page/fiesta-st2 Thanks for everything folks - its been a great journey but ill stick around and lurk as per usual.
  4. Just an update to this thread (holy thread resurrection batman right?) Anyway I've been driving all winter with these tyres from Snow, rain and finally some dry weather above 7c! These out performed the bridgstones, dunlop sport maxx or the Kuhmos I had on and where a lot cheaper than all. The car drives and handles so much better. The ride is better and quieter! In the snow and ice I could actually apply the brakes without ABS kicking in when even feather weight tapping the brakes! Accelerating the car in the snow would feel like the car was bogging down almost but when you take it handy there are no issues. I had to pull out the other day in a brisk form. Halfish throttle from stand still no wheel spin turning the wheel at 90 degrees then with the car half straight boot down no issues at all. Would recommend these 100%. I had them on my Renaultsport Clio 197 but always assumed the extra torque, power and weight in the 350z would make a difference. I'm happily mistaken!
  5. Aye I booked her in yesterday to get a Leakdown test and pressure test done.. The guys doing it on the 3rd woohoo
  6. Thanks Arran and Firemanism. what would oil around the plugs suggest?
  7. Cheers R35Lee Any ideas on cost to swap the motor or is it something I could attempt at home?
  8. Bugger.. Oh well needs must Gutted as I was looking at getting rid of it in June and buying this (www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/audi/rs4/audi-a4-b7-rs4-quattro---------------2007/1925350) if it was still for sale. Any guide lines on prices Russ?
  9. So my cars been drinking quite a bit of oil in the last few months and its getting worse.. I only did around 700-800 miles last month and it drank about 2.5 litres (hard to tell on that dip stick!) This morning I started it and for about the first 20 seconds it was clearly just burning oil.. this stopped. The car currently drives fine and pulls to the red line as normal. I have a VQ35DE Up rev motor and I know that its common to use a lot of oil but is it common to use THAT much? Also what would the first 20 seconds burning oil suggest? Is the engine knackered and should I start saving for a new one? Cheers Adam.
  10. are R888s not due to be banned from public road use or am I thinking of another tyre? I'd love a set on mine.
  11. My bad I saw post number 45 and assumed he had them all still http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71347-breaking-350z-hr-no-engine-or-gearbox-thou-for-sale/page__st__40#entry1080616

    v-belt

Can anyone tell me if there are any strange pulley sizes or what the standard pulley sizes are for a VQ35DE RevUp so I can measure mine? I've had to put a 6PK1148 belt on because the 6PK1173 was far far far to large. It took the adjustable pulley about half way to get the correct tension with the 1148 belt. It wasn't possible to get the correct tension with the 6PK1173 belt??
  14. Unfortunately I had no choice as they didn't have any matching in stock! It was a death trap and an accident waiting to happen so I made a choice to get it done and out of the way
  15. thanks guys I thought they where very cheap to be true! I'll get a set of the Muteki super's ordered. Cheers guys
  16. Guys will these fit the standard 350z touring version one wheels and are the threads the right size? Are they the right end as it says not for use with flat end? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-350Z-Red-Open-Locking-Wheel-nuts-Steel-12x1-25-JDM-/190875096488?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&fits=Car+Make%3ANissan%7CModel%3A350+Z&hash=item2c710ad5a8 Also.. Avons ZZ3 & ZV5

Been running with cheap 'event' tyres that came with the standard 18" wheels for the last 6 months after bending one of my 19" gtrs . Today I lost the head after taking a large roundabout at about 10 mph in the wet and getting the worst understeer I've ever had (no collision as I was taking it handy knowing the tyres were awful). I called in and got some Avons fitted. ZZ3 on the rear and ZV5 on the fronts. This unsurprisingly has transformed the car. Its quieter to drive and handles a lot better. I've been reading on tyrereviews (links below) and both tyres are very equally rated. Rear http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Avon/ZZ3.htm Front http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Avon/ZV5.htm I've learnt a few things; Even though the larger gtr wheels had dunlop sport maxx on they didn't perform as well as the Avons. The smaller wheels make the car a lot better to drive and a lot more 'predictable' in the wet although that could also be the tyres and finally.. never ever EVER use event tyres in the wet as they will cause an event.. and not a good one at that. check the rating on tyrereviews.co.uk (http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Event/WL905.htm) sorry for rambling on but its completely transformed the car and would recommend anyone running budgets to get them off ASAP.
  18. checked that at lunch time David and it was all good. Nothing was happening fan wouldn't even come on.. Called in to Kwik fit at lunch time (closest garage usually avoid them) and the guy checked it out. there was a little bit of gas left but not much. He put it on the machine and checked the system. No leak detected. Refilled it for £30 cash in hand instead of the advertised price of £50. Fan now comes on as the cars ice cold Even let me drive my car in to the bay myself as I'm anal about that kinda thing. Well chuffed! thanks for the help guys.
  19. Thanks David Ill have a look. I did read up on the sensor/connectionbut forgot to check! do you have to remove the satnav/cd unit to check this or can you see/feel it from the pedal area?
  20. Thanks guys fuses been replaced tempted to get it regassed but I've a feeling I should just take it to a garage
  21. I'm turning my aircon on in the cabin (the light comes on) but the fan does not come on in the engine bay and I'm getting hot air. The revs do not dip either. I waited 10 minutes for my car to get warm enough and both fans come on (as expected) proving that both fans are working and its not the bushes. I then turned the aircon on whilst both fans where going and still got hot air only. So.. both fans are working I assume.. I've replaced the two cabin 15amp fuses for AC/Fans to no avail. Anyone any ideas? could the condenser or something not be working due to low gas? I cannot hear the condenser activate at all. Thanks, Adam.
  22. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/nismo-style-350z-rear-spoiler-/141025359179 £30 cant be bad! just saw it not mine!
  23. Thanks guys - I'll have a think about it
  24. Alex, what if i was to remove the heat shield and wrap the cats in exhaust wrap? Would that be ok? cheers, Adam.
