  1. None of the other cars mentioned will come close to the MPS for value for money! Ive said in another thread that ive owned two of them. First was an 09 plate facelift MK1 and later was a 12 plate MK2. I would highly recommend them, and throw around £1500 at one and you are easily at 350bhp. Any higher will require forged internals! If you want parts in the UK, look at FR&R Tuning, and most definately avoid the company called Total MPS. Most choose to import parts from the likes of Corksport, JBR, CP-E and Edge Autosport. If remapping you want to buy a handheld Cobb Access Port, and you simply take logs of your car, and email off to a tuner for an e-tune. There is one guy in the UK that is classed as a bit of a genuis when it comes to mapping, and has fixed cars that have been poorly mapped by some supposed good tuners. Plenty companies in the US that will do you an e-tune for not a huge amount of money. www.mpsowners.co.uk
  2. No not new for sure, someone said they got a set off ebay 2nd hand for £500 though! :scare: (too many??) Think he means per wheel as the damage was on one side only, so one front and one rear, even so still a bit cheap. Was just a number to suggest how easy it is for that to be a write off. The slightest sign of damage, the estimator would just replace it! Repair value wouldn't surprise me at around £8000.
  3. The prices I fishy, but in regards to it being written off due to that damage, I could probably believe. I know for a fact that a door shell costs around 600 from Nissan. Bumper £300 Headlight Washer Cover £80 Front Wing £200 Door £600 Skirt £400 Rear Quarter Repair/Replace £800 Front Alloy £200 Rear Alloy £250 Alignment £100 Labour to Strip £500 Labour to Fit £600 Paint Entire Side and Possibly Blend Other panels £900 Thats just a rough estimate and its already at around £5000. Im sure a dealer could find more to replace!!
  4. The Mazda 6 is a good shout. New interiors look lovely, and the new Skyactiv engines get a very good write up. Good MPG from a smooth Petrol is a bonus.

    G37 bodykits

This is one of the nicest G37's ive seen:
  6. Volvo S60? I know its German, and goes against your outline spec, however have you looked at the Passat CC?
  7. I have been watching those seats!! Lovely!! Just so you know, ive seen a couple sets sell on the Juke forums for under 3000$ USD. There is still a set on there for 2900$ http://www.jukeforums.com/forum/nissan-juke-classified-section/153322-sale-nismo-juke-rs-recaro-seats.html I wish i could part with that cash just now!!!!

    Cars wanted

The only MPS that suffered from rust was the 6 MPS. The 3MPS was manufactured from 2006 onwards. It was the 3's produced between 2003-2006 that had issues with rust. Theres been a fair few Mazdas in my family so im fairly sure of this. My mum has had a 53 plate and a 58 plate. Ive had an 06 plate sport, an 09 plate MPS, and a 12 plate MPS. Not much comes close to the MPS for performance, and certianly not when it comes to value for money. An MPS with light breathing mods will keep up with a 370z from a roll, easy.

    Cars wanted

Has he considered a Mazda 3 MPS? Very capable car. Oh and if you do have a read on any reviews, do not listen to the crap that is said about torque steer! Ive had two. MK1: MK2:
  10. That looks like the Mines spoiler!

    Hill start

I had it on a previous VW, and it worked great. However the one on the 370z just feels rubbish. You never know if it is a steep enough incline for it to engage, and when it does engage, it feels like its holding you back when you pull away The VW system will engage all the time, and the moment you reach biting point it has disengaged before you even feel it. You just cant trust the one in the 370z!!
  12. Infact, looking at the original photos again, it could actually be the Aerojacket Type3.
  13. Looks like the Carbon Signal Type-N: http://www.carbonsignalauto.com/nissan.html I enquired previously, and this was the costs:

    A mods a mod..

Always good to see even the small things being changed/modded. On this occasion, i actually prefer the frosted look of the 370z lights! Good job on the indicators! Ive done my rears, but never bothered with the front indicators/side lights just yet!!
  15. My fluid swap made things better, but its certianly not gone completely. The CSC is failing, and im just biding my time before ordering the HD CSC to replace it!
  16. The 40th Anniversary 'Black Edition' wheels are Shadow Chrome (which no one other than Nissan can do apparently) Shadow Chrome is a colour that any decent specialist can match. Effectively just a hyper silver with a black overspray. My old Mazda MPS came with that finish as standard. Im considering doing the wheels on my Z, and will probably go for a dark gunmetal type colour, similar to the 40th editions. I feel that dark grey look perfect against a black car. However, my dream wheels are these:
  17. You might be lucky with that. Some 2000 grit wet and dry, then a machine polish will sort that right out i think!!
  18. I genuinely think the 370z is one of the nicest looking cars on the road (with out going mega money). I used to like the 350z, but i test drove two and just wasn't 100%. A combination of the ageing looks, and the cheaper feeling interior, i thought the 370z was a no brainer. Think about how many 350z owners that get the Nismo kits fitted, then think about the amount of 370z owners that even bother with the styling? The fact is, the 370z is a stunning car as standard, and the Nismo kit is purely a taste thing. The 350z needs the Nismo lips to look decent IMO. With that said, if i had a 350z parked outside, i would be a very happy chap too, as they are both great cars!
  19. Admiral and Elephant (and Bell) are all the one group, and will price match. Give them both a phone and see if they cant compete against each other. Welcome!
  20. My overall avergae of the past few months is sat exactly on 23MPG. This was the same before i rest it too which is odd. On one long trip i had 32MPG, but i find it sooo hard to stick to one speed and end up having a play! I tend not to pay much attention to it to be fair, the fun factor outweighs a couple of saved pennies!!
  21. They are Nissan front and rear spats/splash guards. The spoiler looks like a Carbon Signal duckbill.
  22. You will need to be careful with the pop up bonnet system. These kits are designed for the US models which do not have the pop up bonnet system.
  23. I got my first mortgage when i was 18, and stuck around £8k down on it. Spent nearly £9k in work to it, and have recently just sold it. Im now 24 and looking to get a detached house with my girlfriend for a max of £250k. I have no further savings, but i have made back all the money i spent, plus a £5k profit from the renovations. Because of the lack of savings, we are maxing out at £250k (plus the 3% stamp duty over £251k is a killer), although the banks were prepared to offer us around £350k. We agreed that we were not comfortable with the monthly spend, and still wanted to have money for things we want. Mortgage at 18 was the best move i made. Yes every penny i had went on it, but with all my mates being students (and having no cash), i still managed to have a good time with them. Now they are all ready to start looking, and they have no money for it! As for the OP's question, i have no idea how i will get to the stage of owning a £400k house!! I guess the best/easiest way is to buy a place that needs alot of work doing, and renovate it for a profit. The right place could make a very nice profit.
  24. In 7 years, over 8 cars, i have only lost £1500. I had a C250 Merc prior to the 370z, owned for 5 months, and made a profit of £1k from that! Somehow i get kind of lucky when it comes to buying and selling. No rush to sell the 370z, was just seeing what was out there. I love the car too much!!
