  1. LeMans Blue code is correct and no problem getting the paint. Regarding the discs just measure the run out. I would think better than 100 microns (0.1mm) is very good and 300 microns bad. This way you will know if you have a problem with disc run out. BTW LeMans Blue is the best colour IMHO...
  2. Do it yourself........then you are sure its done well and you can have a good clean underneath etc...its sooo easy...Oh and it'll cost £50.
  3. I also run some real old bangers too and in them I water the petrol down 25% with tap water..they seem okay and dont pre ignite (knock to some)too.
  4. No No you need ethanol or TSd3 (meths) trust me Im a doctor.
  5. I would be VERY surprised if its to do with the petrol ..I have had no issues with a 350 on 95 for 40,000 miles and currently run a 370 on 95 and no issue. The engine management does check for knocking and adjusts the ignition timing contstantly which is why its not an issue..although arguably there may be a SLIGHT reduction in performance. If I were you I would pedal dance and read the codes from the ECU and then you will know the problem.. good luck
  6. My Base model doesn't have tyre pressure monitoring..you can tell though as the valves are quite different. (and they fail and leak!!)
  7. Might be to do with adjusting the Hid Zenon headlights if its a UK car as by law they have to be auto adjusting for weight in the back!!! I THINK !! JDM dont have this. My 370 is the same.
  8. I hope you get it sorted..sorry if I came over a bit harsh, but I would tighten the belts up even if you get then on the tight side briefly to see if it solves it. if not then yes there may be another issue. But it would take 10 mins excluding getting the car jacked up, and okay another 10 mins to put it all back together clean the under tray etc...my point was its not a big job. For sure start to finish 30 mins then!! and that would include copper greasing and the fixing screws so they come out easy next time. When I had my 350 I changed the belts in half and hour let alone just tighten them... So best of luck and I hope it is just a loose belt as thats the easy cheap option.
  9. So check how tight the belts are and tighten them if required...it takes less than 10 mins
  10. Yep I agree but I have a late 2009 model so assume it may be affected
  11. I saw you too near Livingstone last Tuesday...and I live in Cambridge!! You stand out man. I was walking but though best not to wave
  12. Just wondering if any 370 owners have any thoughts or suggestions. From reading the posts on the Nissan 370Z forum over in the U.S. they seem to have a common issue with 2009 370z's where the steering lock fails in the locked position rendering the car unusable. Apparantly there is no warning and once failed thats it you are stuck. So from the postings some cut a wire to it, others pull out a fuse and some drive around with a spare lock in the glove box. The problem is you have to cut the wire/pull the fuse whist it still works so you can set it in the open position . I wonder if this is just a issue in the States (cold/hot weather and or different spec lock) and /or if we are about to see this over in the UK soon.....if so should we pull the fuse to it too? Any thoughts welcome....... I am just imaging ...its raining, 11:30 at night, work the next day, 20 miles from home get in press the start and the lock fails..you are then bu**ered.
  13. I have a very very very nearly new, still painted, standard one thats not needed if you're interested
  14. The 370z aswell as the late 350z had full knock control throughout the rev range so you will NOT damage your engine. You might get lower mpg and you will have less power. So there to all the people who bang on about search.
  15. Open the bonnet and have a look. +1
  16. The plugs are obvious when you look....cant miss them.
  17. I bet its the cam cover seal...trouble is you cant get the seal on its own you have to buy the whole cam cover...common issue with the zed..however not such a problem as oil is a good insulator so will not promote tracking...worst thing is when you take the spark plug out you get a load of oil down the plug hole that then passes through the cat...
  18. Erm some of you guys talk like the cars not driveable with the traction control off... there is that other control under your right foot...it controls the power/ drive to the rear wheels you know!!
  19. Just for the record its a 1926 Austin Tourer bodied by Holden.......I have a few of these 1920's Austins, thus my username Dr Austin.......I thought it was funny but you would be surprised how many people think I am a Doctor as I use this user name elswhere..... I like extremes.. in cars and motorcycyles!!
  20. i dont agree with that at all. i had a 350 for 3 years and looked at other cars to "upgrade" there was nothing out there for the price, quality, spec, drive, power ect.... i absolutely love my 370z. i think that its enough of a change:- looks power interior spec its totally different to drive too. (i have done wales in both) i love it!! better that TT or Z4 ect!! Me too 100%
