  1. So its simple is it...have you tried cutting up the bunch of wires to your cars ECU..brave man if you have..ramifications if you get it wrong can be interesting....
  2. So basically it's poverty spec, the bottom rung of the 370z ladder. I'm sure it is amazing compared to 90 year old cars. My 350 wasn't 90 years old actually try 8yrs....Poverty spec okay but with upgraded brakes keyless entry.........Yep okay so its a crap car thanks
  3. It is keyless and got the big 4 pot brakes and Boot cover thing...sycro rev well it is a novelty but as I say I do that as a matter of course when I want to...........Gt spec is better but 10K worth?? So I have a (IMHO) nearly new car that I am very happy with compared to my 350z and £10K in the pension pot...or towards the next car??Also I spend most miles at 70 in a average camera zone on the A14 50 miles a day......
  4. No catch...its a December 2009 (59 reg) with 12,000 miles... In actual fact I paid £15600 for it still with 6 month Nissan waranty. I love the colour (although some at work say they dont..maybe envy though!)...its just like new, even they wheels are unmarked with a full service history and of course HPI clear and no record of any accident repairs etc etc...I am well pleased with it..and prefer it to my 350..if there is a catch its that its not a GT...I think that means no sat nav, no LSD, cloth seats ..but they are real nice, no rev match thing ( I'm totally used to matching revs when changing gear as I drive 1920's cars for fun) and no cruise control. But its a (nearly) new car for half price!! Yes I love it
  5. The brushes just need to be dressed with a needle file thats all... very easy job no need to replace the brushes or motor..but if you do can I have them to refurb??
  6. I just bought a 370 with 12K miles for £16000 and its absolutely mint in every way....Lemans Blue
  7. Could of been fixed in an hour...maybe two and freeing off the brushes... what doesnt anybody try this first..it does work oh why
  8. I agree with all the above. The advantage with this 'plug and play' HKS is that theres no risk as you dont have to cut and shut the ECU wiring and it does take 5 mins to plug it in ...job done. Cost me £350 off someone on this site a couple of years ago...now got a 370 so was hoping I could sell it...otherwise it'll be in the bin! Thanks for the helpful comments though.
  9. Mine does it according to my wife...I cant hear it in the drivers seat though...till reading this I didn't believe her. (late 2009 370)
  10. Motors come apart easy.. the brushes get stuck and need dressing with a needle file..easy job
  11. My opinion is slightly different: 1 2500 grade is well fine I would use 1000 or 1200 for final flatting back. 2 Initial prep my advice is 500 3 Sand paper goes in the bottom of a budgie cage BTW!! 4 Oh I would prime first
  12. Thank you so much for taking the effort to document this...brilliant. This IS the best Forum
  13. Changing the oil on a Zed is just childs play.. the only difficult bit is removing the undertray as most garages dont bother...they just undo the back screws and bend it out of the way to get to the drain plug..therefore the front screws can get corroded.
  14. Its the stuck brushes AGAIN.. takes aout 1 hour start to finish..Window motors and cooling fan motors all have the same problem. The answer is A fit new motors or B clean up the brushes. I have cleaned the brushes on mine and now its all good....oh cost 0.
  15. Well done for doing the fans... I would clear the codes (pedal dancing with a stop watch)... Think how much you have saved by sorting those brushes out...I wonder how many have bought new fan motors !!
  16. No you dont need to change the gaskets unless you damage them...unlikely though. I would/have used contact cleaner to clean the fine wire on the MAF hot wire sensor..personally would keep away from carb cleaner as its too harsh. I would also recommend you check that the plug and socket connections are not corroded...and give them a clean. One issue with pretty much all the engine management sensors is they are low voltage so susceptible to poor contact.
  17. Im not too far from you...Sawston near Cambridge (2 miles from Duxford Airfield)..?
  18. These are the reasons why we should do the 10 minute oil change ourselves...and save £100 too
  19. Personally I would use a small two legged puller.......
  20. We married in Barbados...absolutely brilliant, no hastle and inexpensive compared to doing something in the UK...One of the best things I have done....
  21. Cant see how drop links would make a clicking noise unless you were on an unevan surface..looking on the black side I would be concerned that it was associated with the diff as that has to work when turning.....Hope not though.
  22. Some of us call it clutch control.........
