  1. My condolences for anyone or their family caught up in this. Appears the threat has been neutralised though. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/10214661.stm "A number of people have been killed and others injured after a gunman opened fire in several areas of west Cumbria. Police believe they have found the body of the suspected gunman, Derrick Bird. A force spokesman said the 52-year-old's body was found in the Boot area."
  2. The short answer is the car wasnt street legal or roadworthy Eek! That's pretty shocking. Poor girl.
  3. Is this the car that was a prize give away to the girl who was on here? I dunno what's wrong, someone fill me in
  4. What's the overall point of it though? I mean, why would I want to stare at a map and see what speed I was doing on that section of road? Track use is all I can think of really?
  5. My brothers had this exact surgery done, after keyhole surgery never sorted it. He was on the NHS and he never had any problems. Was on his back for a few weeks but that was about it. Not sure about the 9-12 months recovery, but if that recovery is referring to playing football again, then pretty much forget it Although it may feel safe enough to do it, the psychological insecurity of it constantly twinging will scare the crap out of you. And if it makes you feel better, he done it wearing blades also, turning too quick. Blades have been the cause of a LOT of knee injuries!
  6. The mrev2 is designed for the revup (06 facelift) engined cars. Motordyne themselves reccommend only a spacer for non revup (pre 06 facelift) cars. In my experience mrev2 made no difference. Spacer made 5bhp top end same torque. Uprev worth upto 20bhp and 20lbft. Mines a pre facelift car. Bugger.
  7. It's confusing the hell out of me. I'm going to be purchasing a lower plenum mod soon, was planning on the Mrev2. Are we saying this is bad? This mod will be complimented by a 5/18 plenum spacer and UpRev flash on my 2004 UK. I hope this is not gonna be a waste! This thread has kinda thrown me...
  8. Might be worth getting some air filters over to you and see what you find with your mapping skills
  9. Would it really be a big deal to leave them behind? I mean..are they expensive tweeters? Looks great btw, any chance of sticking up the box dimensions if you have them handy?
  10. I dunno if the Nismo kit is negotiable, but Rene has a lovely looking car for sale in crystal white here: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=36629 He's a good guy as well, so may be open to a bit of haggling
  11. Have to disagree. Every time I drive home from work and its raining, there's a tail-back because some idiot can't alter their driving style to accommodate the different conditions. Sure you can drive, and I personally think I can drive. But for us 2, there's another thousand idiots who can't, and if given the ability to drive an extra 10 MPH they would probably become even more lethal. And although our cars are better equipped etc, there is still thousands of old shambles which aren't. It's a shame really, because if we all drove well, and had good cars...maybe there could be a safe increase. But that's not the case, and as usual the majority of idiots ruin it for the minority of decent folk.
  12. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one Steve. TDI had no vested interest in proving this part provided gains and I would describe their approach as "sceptical but curious" (as was I). I have no reason to think that TDI, Abbey and all the various people in the US who have verified these gains are lying simply to promote modding. That seems like a very weak argument and I think to call them all liars because reality doesn't match your theory seems a little harsh to say the least! After all, the fact that fitting a pop charger style induction kit often loses power seems to be common knowledge. People who lie about the gains for their parts usually get found out and roasted pretty quickly, especially in the US. I can't tell you why the gains measured don't match what you're saying, but for me empirical testing trumps theory. My 06 airbox cost me about £50 and my car runs stronger with it fitted so I shan't be changing it anytime soon. I bought my car with the JWT already installed. However I'm going pony chasing and will soon be changing to an 06 airbox. I've done quite a bit of research on the my350 forum and here. There's just too much coincidence backing it up to simply disregard it with the previous mentioned theory. Did you buy yours from another member here mate?
  13. Looks good mate Nice Job! I used the clothes at the weekend also, just to remove polish and wax, thought they did a great job really. Not really expecting a song and dance from them, as it's a simple task!
  14. Sorry guys, gonna have to pull out of this one. Got a few hardware mods id like to have installed before the tune, which I wont have done in time!
  15. I think all that calibration certificate malarky is just delaying the inevitable and coming across like a wanger. Best to just own up to the deed and take it like a man. I understand doing it if your on 9 points already and plan to take it to court, but otherwise you will save your dignity and time by just taking it. I was recently pulled for undertaking, a manouvere I wasn't fully aware of being illegal. I always thought undertaking was passing a car on the inside and then pulling back into the outside lane, the opposite of an overtake. But I was informed that simply driving faster and passing the car in that wrong lane was an undertake, regardless of wither I pull in front of him or stay where I am. I owned up to it and agree'd completely with his version of the events and apologised for it, he was almost taken back and informed me that it was a stupid thing to do for 6 points, and that if I wanted to drive my lovely car fast, do it in the country side, not the city. He then kindly told me to get on my way, to which I was very appreciative. I put that all down to being honest and apologetic. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But the majority of the time, being an arrogant wanger will just get you prosecuted regardless.
  16. Are you quite slobbery when you drive? your plastics look like they have saliva on them Must be the SC
  17. Is it me, or does he looks very similar to the pictures of Fat Sumo Boy, who was overly photochopped a year or two ago?
  18. How bad was it Alex? understand if you'd rather not say
  19. Can't save that much if you want a warrentied 400bhp though! I like the current shape more than the old one i think, prefer it to the Evo X anyway. Boy, do I know that... *looks at wallet*
  20. Power looks awsom, but looks wise its pretty dull. If 400 bhp in a hatch back is what your after, save yourself 40 grand an get a pulsar
  21. Stunning mate, whites gonna look sexual this summer!
