This has been discussed before both here and on Pistonheads ........... I am of the opinion that only a full sized plate is legal but cannot find the letter of the law that confirms that ...... all I can find is that the spacing of and border around a standard font needs to be as stated .......... as you quite rightly state
Also my opinion .... very few police know the letter of the law either on this topic although they are becoming more aware as their superiors send them out on specific missions to check certain aspects of the law relating to vehicles ......... as you, I am frightened they'll try and ticket you for something else if you "flout the law" with a pretty plate so I mine's standard with the BS au 145 (????????) printed on proving that it's within the law
Well I think his car is @*!#! and don't get me started on that ducking number plate!!!
don't mince words Mark ........ say what you feel I value your opinion ,,, anyone who likes Angus can't be all bad lol
Had a great day today with some lovely people ......... thanks everyone ..................... and James ... I was only joking ....... I do like you car
Dipstick location .... front = later engine .....RHS = earlier engine ....yours is probably later being 2007 .... does bonnet have a bulge ? as for capacity I think early engine is 3499 cc but not sure about later
its hard to tell with the dipstick but ive top it up 1/2 litre after about 1500 miles to be honest im struggling to read the dip stick
I am glad I am not the only one. I am a fully trained mechanic with 11 years experience and the dipstick is total crap, I am now unsure if I have overfilled it as I keep putting more in and I cant really see any definite line, there is a more distinct darker oil at the bottom of the stick but it doesn't seem to move when I put oil in. Anyone else give me any tips? I'm gonna change the oil early next week anyway but it does seem odd.
Run the engine after a top up ..... leave it to settle and check again .... that way the new oil gets to be mixed with the old oil and shows up better on the dipstick
IMO it's only the door cards that let the Zed down on the interior front ........ needs a nice bit of leather panelling to set them off and detract from the expanse of black plastic
