  1. Rays were a £1000 option on the GT though most early GTs came with Rays IIRC
  2. Surely changing gear is all about matching flywheel speed with prop shaft speed (i.e. the rotational speed of the gearbox input shaft and the gearbox output shaft) for the gear you are about to use ............ and for that IMO it is best to blip the throttle on down shifts and double de-clutch on up shifts ........... if you practice this you can eventually change gear all day without using the clutch .............. only do this if it is a hire car
  3. Ikarus went for sound quality rather than headbangin' loud ...... he also did a 3d AutoCad of the Zed boot area to enable his design to be very neatly packaged ........ the car is totally awesome as well as the ICE
  4. the noise can get a bit much but the view out the back is stunning
  5. Are you a pilot? Or airport groundsman? Or bird watching? Or plane watching? Or just having a flying lesson? No that's where I live

  8. As some may remember, a couple of years ago I cured the rattle coming the front suspension by replacing the banana bar on the passenger side .......... this little episode cost me a year of heartache and almost £2000.00 ........... the sequence of events went something like this IIRC 1) new ARB drop links both sides 2) new upper wishbones both sides 3 new transverse link LHS 4) new genuine Brembo pads both sides 5) new compression rod (banana bar) LHS so after the lasts service the mechanic noted sllght wear on the RHS banana bar bushes and sure enough a couple of weeks later the dreaded rattle reappeared ......... ....... no problem thought I, and after a quick call to the ever efficient Zmanalex, a new drivers side banana bar arrived ready for fitting (Nissan has increased the price of this component by 22% and it was expensive to start with) .............. did it cure the rattle ???? did it B&LL&X so I thought "here we go again" but from the other end this time ....... so I booked it in for a full diagnosis with me present and we decided that one of the drop links was the culprit this time .... and guess what ? ..... the drop links (both) were changed today and the noise has gone I'VE GOT MY BABY BACK AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER
  9. Professionally fitted not always, i had my wing mirrors done by a "pro" wouldnt do it again. some shapes and angles, especially if small can be an arse to wrap. and keep down as it would seem. my guess is not enough heat or too much on the vinyl. both can have an effect. Rich we were talking about Colin's in particular
  10. We're in the USA .... that makes it the 7th floor lol
  11. Don't think so ...... just a pressure gauge on the 350
  12. Please let us know the outcome
  13. If you work out the cost it's about 0.5p per mile .... I'd say live with it before you do anything major to the engine what's the pressure at idle and at 2000 revs ? check out the emissions ......... that will tell you if the oil's getting passed the rings (high emissions at higher revs) or down the valve stems (high emissions at idle)

  17. I am getting a bit itchy and I love red leather and red callipers on a black car ............ even looked at a new plate GO60 ZED memo to self ...... you must resist - you must resist - you must resist -
