  1. Realistically you don't want a gauge at all, you want a big flashy red light that tells you if something is wrong. Gauges are great if you need accurate numbers but they're also intrusive and distracting, whereas a big flashy red light that only activates when things are bad is a much simpler and more effective solution. It would be relatively simple to rig up a subtle light into the main dash cluster too. Sounds a good, simple idea, but how would that work in practice? With AFR surely there are too many variables. It would need to monitor the AFR, Engine load/throttle position and revs at a minimum. eg. A light that simply comes on at 13:1 would be no good as when cruising at part throttle it would be on all the time and if you had it any higher, and you was at WOT at 6500rpm, your engine would be toast. I think it would cost to much to get a system to work with just a light for AFR. But your right about the gauges being a distraction. I do think they are necessary in an FI or or Nos'd zed. I have recently discovered that I had a faulty injector and was running lean sometimes. Without the AFR gauge I wouldn't have been able to diagnose it. And I'm sure if Wasso had one, he wouldn't have melted his plugs on the Wales run.
  2. Not sure on dual ones but I've had the AEM UEGO AFR in both my Supra TT and currently my Zed and its great. I think the done thing in the zed is to put it in the left bank (2,4,6) as that's the one that normally runs leaner. That's where it is on mine anyway. Paul has one for sale for a good price too. viewtopic.php?f=38&t=45987
  3. Welcome to the club and congratulations on your purchase.
  4. Have a look here; viewtopic.php?f=35&t=37554&start=15 I did a little guide halfway down page 2.
  5. Give the battery a good charge and see what happens tomorrow.
  6. Welcome to the club, hopefully we can help out a bit. I too am running the Vortech so give me a shout if I can be any help. May I ask the reason for the re-build? Did it let go in a big way? Have you found the reason for it?
  7. +1 I was gonna ask Sarnie if he gets away with spacing like that. I was fined twice for having slightly small plates on my supra, both when visiting Scotland
  8. Yeah... the Muppets... Kinda like putting YOUR car for sale... then approaching you to buy it when they get a buyer... This id the problem I've been having this week, put in offers on a couple of plates only to find they are not for sale Ended up buying from DVLA in the end, much more straight forward. The cheapest is wesnumberplates.com but only by a few £ and not sure on how fast they would process it. DVLA have got to be the quickest.
  9. Well I just bought one about 3 minutes ago!!!
  10. But she puts the 350z up there as one of her favourites so she probably will. I remember that! TVR review if IIRC
  11. I'll be getting one in the next couple of days. I've spent a week trawling the sites for an ideal one but had no luck. It's something I said I'd never spend money on as I always thought there were better things, but my Grandad recently passed away and my Dad gave me a grand from the sale of his house. I was gonna put it in the wedding fund but the Missus very kindly said you should spend it on something you can keep forever and suggested a private plate. My Ideal plates (that I could afford) would have been MGO2 SAM, MG03 SAM, MG04 SAM, but I've been unable to get them so it's looking like I'm gonna have to settle on MC** SAM, my name being Sam McGo*****.
  12. Big +1 what do you think the big powered skyline and supra boys do, they don't have TCS to hide behind. You buy a reasonably fast car and actually learn how to drive the thing, the people that think it HAS to be turned on at all times maybe should move back to there Golfs and Focus I'm not saying I'm the dog bo**oks but I do find it cuts it far too quickly. I'm not telling every one to go turn it off at all times and drift the streets but if you are honestly one of these who are scared to push the button then maybe you bought the wrong sort of car +2 All but 1 of the cars I've owned have been RWD and only the last two (Supra and 350z) have had TC. And unless the conditions are wet/greasy it gets turned off as soon as the car is started. I too find that with it on it comes on far to early and the sudden lack of power is dangerous when pulling out of junctions etc... If, with it off, you give it a little too much beans and the wheels start to slip, it is still FAR more predictable and controllable than if the TC had cut in. I would suggest that those that have little experience in RWD cars or are scared to press the 'button of death and destruction' should defiantly invest a few pounds in signing up for an airfield day or something similar to explore the limits of RWD traction. Something like this would be ideal. - viewtopic.php?f=19&t=50334
  13. Good work. Nice find on the split fuel hose. When I fitted my Return Fuel System I noticed mine had started to split in that exact place too so replaced the hose. It's not that far from the De-cats so I might get a bit of heat wrap round mine there to try and prolong the life of the rubber. Its good to see the pinch roller fitment in case I ever need to do it. Funny how some people suffer from slip more than others. You know your gonna have to polish up the other cam cover to match now don't you.
  14. Buy the SC - Sell ya NOS equipment. Problem solved
  15. Can't see the vid at work but sounds like fun was had. I must say that alfa looks something special
  16. That's cheap. Great opportunity for someone that wants some extra horses. GLWTS. Sorry to see your reason for the sale.
  17. I haven't managed to source the belts over here yet. All the places I've been can get sizes either an inch longer or 1/2 inch shorter etc..... If you ever order anything form Vortech or Superchargers online (like belts or your new Pulley ) Then let me know and it'll keep the postage costs down. Yep have your dinner and get reading, I do it every couple of months, especially the Vortech FAQ I hate to think how many hours I've spent reading on there, but every time I do I learn something and find something else to check. Enjoy
