  1. thats what i though, but due to the buckle strap fixing bolt being slightly too long just after it goes through the welded nut and so clashes with the side of the carbon bucket which meant i couldnt get them to sit at the lowest point on the side mounts, only the middle. i think i'll probably have a go in the spring time when it gets a little warmer as no one wants them and see if i can either shorten the bolt or modify the side mounts slightly. tbh i was that fecked off when they didnt fit that i wanted to thow them in the bin so i didnt try anything else. I have a set of these at home si i think i'll do some tweaking and i should be able to fit them once i get the chance
  2. bought it just before i turned 24, had it for 6 months ish now. so much fun but the miles build up quickly cos i dont wanna drive my sensible diesel!
  3. depending on budget you could remake them in metal - ally or hi lead content steel and mechanically fix or weld them to the body? - no cracking
  4. thats where all the fun happens, give it some beans man!
  5. ok so its still doing it, driven 600+ miles since i noticed it. The battery is still draining when left alone for more than 12ish hours to just enough to not start the car (just under 12v on the guage), but as soon as its started you can drive anywhere and providing its a little while to recharge the battery it's fine to sit for hours and then restart (ordinarily sitting around 15v when driving and sitting after along run). Fortunately i tend to get back from work late and i start early so it doesnt have time to drain enough ordinarily... i'm carrying a spare battery and jump leads in the boot just in case though The battery seems ok, the alternator is working fine as its re-charging but the airbag warning light is still flashing at me. I havent yet had the time to remove the drivers seat i removed to trial fit new seats a while ago, as i want to check the wiring underneath. Hoepfully i'll have time this weekend to check it all out properly
  6. I'd be more worried about the repeatidly poor/innacurate descriptions of the vehicles they sell, have a good look at the pics or preferably the car before readign the sometimes ficticious specs
  7. welcome sounds like the problem everyone has... i suffer terribly one i've cleaned the z... i've been known to go back out side to look at it and make sure i park it under a street lamp outside my gf's house so i can see it from the living room!
  8. If you dont have them i'll take them off your hands for asking price
  9. I dont understand all the comments about the bridgestones being the worst tire in the world? Nissan and Bridgestone spend a fortune on R&D and although the tire probably isnt suited for the most extreme requirements is anyone here actually qualified to comment and say they are inferior tyres? I know a chap who was one of the ride and handling test engineers when the z was being set up for uk roads and when he did some work on my car the other week he actualy commented and said it was good to see a z with some decent tires on still not the cheap ones people seem to throw on alot of the time
  10. depending on what sort of budget you have RS6's are down in the 15k mark for ones with 50k ish last time i looked, around 450 bhp twin turbo v6 and you can have an estae, v practical!
  11. Yeah chers fellas i'm gonna try and steal a multimeter at some point today and get out there and have a look but for now i have the efficient 'spare battery' jump techique! - luckily i have a few batteries from by Corrado on the garage on trickle charge and they are man enough to start the z. O if any ones thinking they'll be ok if they get a flat battery cos they have a big diesel car like me thaen be careful, The Battery Nissan puts in their new Xtrails isnt big enough and neither is the battery in a diesel passat but i suppose theire only 4 cylinders so that might explain it Mine still under Nissan delaer warranty, any idea if battery's are covered?
  12. Can anyone explain why my battery was flat this morning? 56 plate Z, 35k used every day on a 120miles total commute. Got up in the ice this morning expecting to go outside and start the z up to warm her and the heated seats up and the battery was flat as a pancake. The was nothing on when i came to the car (lights/indicators/heated seats etc all off) Has anyone had their battery drain in 12hours before? It wasnt locked, would that make a difference? cheers andy MODS: couldnt see the appropriate subforum so i put it in here
  13. Mark, dont use them, they have scratched 2 different sets of split rims on my cars over the past few years! I dont know of a place i'd trust in bedford for laser aligning, the only other one i know of is the TT shop in kempston, but the owner is a knob and after one of his fitters refitted my corrado rear disc and bearing without any greae causing it to lock solid at speed then denied responsibility even though it happened 7 miles from their garage and when dissasembled the bearing fell out in pieces with dust on it! I know this isnt the most helpfull to the original question but i tend to go to my mate Malcolm Good at Formula one on elms farm (i think he was with you when you knocked the z) as the boys there can do it without damaging anything with the old fashioned equipment
  14. He probably didnt know I am ony commenting from memory as it was 3-4 years ago when they were developing the paint when i was working there. Pretty sure it wa only scratches, it was something to do with the mollecular structure of the paint but not sure of the exact details as i wasnt involved
  15. Lookss like a lovely car, very jealous! i'd have gone for the graphics too It stays active for about 4 years and will self heal for small nicks and scratches as the paint doesnt fully go hard untill that time (i'd imagine environment, care and conditions will effect this though) It does work but its not magic so dont expect mirracles
  16. I fit a front tire in the boot, just! its a squeeze though
  17. Woth mentioning what engine the GT is, the diesel and the petrol had 170 PS so either a 2.0 TDI or the 1.4TSI ? As for GTI's check with the supplier as the new GTI's had a differing fuel system to some petrol golfs (FSI) and the mk5's would have the 2.0TFSI so worth seeing if the software can control the differing fuel rails
  18. my mate could only squeeze 8 out of audi for his 53 plate 225 TT with 70k on the clock, 6k might well be about book
  19. can provide a bullsh1t weight watchers calorie counter book if that helps Unfortuantely the seats wont be right for everyone but tbh if a bit shorter than me and of slim to average build the fit'd be great, the lad opposite me who races in his spare time has problems getting a seat narrow enough, so i'm sure these'l be perfect for someone!
  20. Hi Lee, i'd like a proper thick boot mat, the standard ones worse carpet how much for one, where are you in the country?
  21. Hi eveyone I'm having a clear out so i've put these seats on ebay, if you know anyone who might be interested let them know, the auction finishes tomorrow night. Bidding starts at £500, no reserve, these have to go http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200498618677 Cheers Andy Perfect for all you Carbon Fibre Nutters out there, 2 Black Leather Carbon Fibre Bucket Seats made by Border who supply quite a few of the jgtc teams with their race seats They are a direct replica of the Recaro SPG race seat, but Recaro never did theirs in carbon fibre! It has 5 holes for 5 or 6 point harnesses (the 5th hole is between the removable thigh and arse cushion) The lower back, bum and thigh bolsters are velcro'd on to allow easy cleaning. Also worth mentioning if your waist is above 36" you might not fit as these are very snug seats, they only weigh a few kilo's if that so a great way to reduce the z's hefty weight I bought them for my Corrado R32 4wd Project but thats when i was building a show car, the corrado's build has turned into a track car prep now and these seats are too nice for that! So apart from sitting in one of the seats to play on the playstation when they were in the house (sad maybe but fun ) they are barely used. So there you have it 2 almost unused leather buckets, the carbon on the base has a few small marks from fitting but you have to really look for them, and there is a small nick to the leather on the edge of the thigh bolster on one seat. the buddy club drivers side seat rail is included in the sale as was brand new before i trial fitted it They are v easy to fit, took less than an hour to do one and i was being v carefull, just undo the 4 bolts that retain your z seat, remove your battery terminals. Unplug the harnesses under the seats and it'll look like this then remove the buckle from your seat, fit to the new seat runner, lower the seat into position, connect the buckle sensor to the harness again and fit a 2.2 ohm resistor to the aribag connector. Bolt the rails to the floor, set the height of your seat and tighten up the bolts on the seat side brackets and your sorted If you want to see any more pics please just ask and i can email them to you cheers Andy[/b]
  22. Its happening still, when they do i might considder going back to work for them to get a G37
  23. Hello mate, sorry i never replied to your pm a while back I'll have them for £70 posted mate, although the way the post is atm where are you based as i might be able to pick up (gonna be doing a lot of driving all over the place in the next few weeks so it might work out easier!) cheers andy
  24. wtf so some tosser it a vinyl wrapped neon eblazened rep mobile can set his gun wrong, achieve 400 fines a day, get commended on exceeding targets and probably a promotion and then then all the unfairly charged motoists keep the traffic legal system in business, what a load of shite!
