  1. Anybody had any dealings with these people? i emailed them a week or so ago, asking if the Utec piggyback would be compatible with the JDM Skyline 350GT with the DE engine, and got the reply "what year" And so i replied "Sorry! should have said, its a March 2004 six speed manual so the DE motor, is the UTEC capable of overcoming the std ECUs closed loop maps, without them fighting each other like some piggybacks? and can it except a wideband input?" But didn't receive a reply until i resent the email to the original enquiry address, and then got this, "The UTEC drives the Coils and the Injectors so the factory ecu cannot adjust them." And so i replied with, So does that mean it is compatible with the JDM Nissan Skyline 350GT, which was my original question? And received the reply "yes" Now is it me or are these guys not very helpful or forthcoming with any really relevant information? all i can say is its not the kind of reply i would hope for when enquiring about a product with a view to purchase if there product is as good as their information, then i I'm not impressed
  2. Some more update pics of a couple of further small mods.
  3. They did not come with a carbon option, i believe there was a fake wood effect, but its rare, price wise you will pay anything from 8K upward depending on age and spec,10K should get you a pretty good one, but the 6 speed manuals with brembos are pretty rare, with the price of fresh imports soring i can see the prices rising. If you want more info pop over here http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/foru ... .php?f=220 we are a pretty friendly bunch 6 speed manuals with Brembos are not rare. Surely nearly all UK cars had Brembos? Thats because when i replied it seemed he was referring to the Skyline 350GT and not the 350Z so manuals with Brembos are decidedly rare

  5. if you gear from 1st to 2nd gearing with banging style clutching you'll wreck the gearbox... Ahhh! so you do mean US style shifting All this talk about weak gearboxes was starting to worry me as i tend to do lazy U turns, IE spin the rear wheel's up.
  6. Interesting, so how do they cope with being converted to forced induction? or having the throttle limiter removed? Guess they don't do drag racing on the std box then? I haven't yet heard of gearbox failure, is it in the states that the box was wrecked by any chance
  7. I changed mine to a UK Bosch 063, and its quite easy to change the terminals, and make a new battery strap, it then gives you 70ah and 560 cold cranking amps, so no worries for winter cold starts
  8. Good idea! Provided he owns a compressor of course
  9. If you have already used enough force to have broken the ceramic of the plug, IMO the wort thing you can do is remove the plug, as you will end up with bits of the ceramic section down the bores, so your next job will be to remove the head! I would attempt to cut the rubber ring as much as possible, then find a decent vacuum cleaner and hold it to the top of the plug tube and see if that works.
  10. Yes up to 2006/7 the engine, chassis/suspension, brakes etc are pretty much interchangeable. The US Infiniti G35 comes in at about 100KG heavier than the import 350z, but being us spec its a bit lardy in comparison to the JDM 350GT so i doubt there is much in it, i have driven a well modded 350Z and IMO the 350GT feels no slower, so probably 3rd of a second in reality.
  11. What you mean paint it black? apart form the slightly more aggressive offset wheels and the fact its slammed for to low for UK roads there is little in it.
  12. Pulling the clutch fork boot back and lubricating the pivot ball fulcrum point should work if the squeak is from there. Perhaps you require a new clutch cover as the squeak may be from the diaphram. Do you have the concentric clutch bearing? I do hope not! not sure about the clutch bearing as it came with the clutch std, and i am hoping that it will last a bit longer, as it on 50K (presumably not been changed) and has no signs of slip st peak torque areas.
  13. Sorry should have said, its not the peddle, its the release mechanism, i think the pivot is dry but the WD doesn't seem to penetrate.
  14. Very nice, they sure look good in sunset
  15. Been suffering from this for quite some time, today i thought i would bleed the clutch, and also pull the rubber boot out a bit and give it a good spry of WD40, but unfortunately it hasn't seemed to have made any difference, any ideas? is there a known problem with the mechanism?
  16. Wheels are 19x8.5 and 19x10 Linea Corse, couple of update pics as i have now painted the lower intakes to tie the grill in.
  17. After reading these latest comments, all i can say is, to those that are driving their supercharged 350Z about with a feeling of petrified doom, then sell the supercharger setup to me CHEAP! and i will enjoy every minute of it without fear i think i have a couple of hundred in the bank spare
  18. If you're going turbo then i would forget the small catch tank, or at least plum it back into the plenum as this is the low throttle/idle breather and uses the vacuum of the engine to equalise pressure, The rest looks OK but if you're going to run the cam cover equaliser tubes into the catch tank i would also run the main/full throttle breather at the back into the tank to, and then have two outs one to each turbo inlet which will also help equalise things. You will also need to keep a careful check on the levels in the catch tank, as being in a high location will mean that if too full or under hard cornering you may find that any oil will move and then get drawn in bulk to the outlets to the turbos, as there will be a large vacuum (dependant on design and throttle opening) not what you need on a turbo engine as a lot of oil vapour in the inlet will result in lowering the octane rating of the fuel and can cause detonation, some careful baffle design in the tank might be in order, or a different location.
  19. New Pics. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thought it was about time i put up some decent pics now i have done a few cosmetic mods, will add to these as i make more progress.
  20. Has anyone by any chance got a pic of the spiral cable interface with the steering wheel off?
  21. I have never seen any information that says DOT 5.1 absorbs water any more readily than DOT3 or 4 as they are all glycol based fluids, the DOT number designates the boiling point of the fluid IE 300f etc, The only different one is DOT5 being silicone in makeup which doesn't absorb water anywhere near as much as glycol.
  22. For a fairly recent vehicle why do Nissan quote DOT3 fluid when there is 4 and 5.1 available at the time of design and manufacture? for a vehicle with decent brakes as std it seems daft that a better rated fluid is not recommended, i will be using DOT5.1 when i change my hoses.
  23. Just want to check the size without having to got out to the car and take bits off?
  24. Oh well, it will just have to wait until i feel like changing the plenum colour again and then i.ll dig the angle grinder out again
  25. LOL! Thats also my next project, as I'm damed if i would pay the asking price for these, when i can make it myself, may also make a limited number for sale should it turn out as intended, but i will market them to 350GT owners
