  1. If you set it at 4000 it will be a constant light at 4000 but will flash before this. Dont know about the speedo mine read 1-2 mph different. I would think the digital one is reading more accurate. My worst bug bear is the average speed. Set the cruise at 70mph on the trip computer and reset average for a couple of mins and the average speed will say 66mph. How can this be? its the same instrument
  2. Impressed

    keys

I think the valet key will open and start the car but not open the glove box.
  3. I noticed this jerk if I slowed and then applied a little gas at 1500rpm when I first got mine. I think 1500 rpm is a little low to be pressing the gas pedal, the engine does not seem to like it. Was your last car a deisel? I would just pull away at 2000rpm. then there is still a further 5500rpm to play with.
  4. When you discovered this was the level still between the 2 marks? If it was I cant see there being any damage other than oil all over the engine bay. The oil splashing around in the head has already done its job and is just waiting to drain into the sump to be pumped around again. I would defo get them to properly clean the engine bay though. rubber hoses etc dont like prolonged contact with oil. Also remember you have probable put a nice coating of oil on the road around your house so take care in the zed next time it rains.
  5. Or 9 times too thick. Over that area I would have thought Alu would not compress at all. The links below bight be worth a look. http://www.repco-tech.co.uk/html/produc ... 4QodNT7w_g http://www.hollinbrow.co.uk/hollinbrow/ ... -foil.html http://www.lineartools.co.uk/Guides/PBP_1001.pdf http://www.knighton-tools.co.uk/acatalo ... 6. Bugger. Went into shed with torch and pulled out a bit I had lying around. Measured it at .65mm, thought close enough only to re-read your post to realise you want .075mm (point zero 75). Thats thin....... I would use a couple of £20 notes flattened with a steam iron. What on earth are you shimming? are you working on the replacement for the space shuttle?
  7. I might touch on 32mpg if I set the cruise at 50mph, at 90mph it will probable be more like 23mpg. Is your car modified? Mine is standard.
  8. I suspect a 1 has been missed of the front of that price. I hope.
  9. Thats a really good price. Has he filled out the benchmark in the back of the instructions and informed building control? If so good deal. I did all the pipework (exept gas) and loose fitted flue. Left all pipes and electrics 500mm too long for him to cut back and connect and it cost me £450 labour only to connect, test and commission. 6 hrs. Well done.
  10. Same setup as me. If you look at the instructions on the inside of the boiler door you will see that when using the vrf360 the heating temperature control on the boiler should be set to max. Dont know why but just in case you missed it.
  11. Cool. My boiler is not working. Whats wrong and how much will it cost to fix...... Thats 1 more post on my way to becoming a Z Veteran.
  12. Is it a Valliant timer? what model? where is it? Hot water is available on demand always. There is a facility to preheat the hot water heat exchanger but the boiler does this itself unless you disable it, it has nothing to do with the timer. I have as it periodicaly fires the boiler to keep it hot even when there is no demand. Is saves around 5 seconds when you turn on a tap but uses extra gas. Is the manual for the boiler or timer. If its for the boiler tell me the page number and I will look it up. Excellent boiler choice. PS can any one tell my my profile says Z hopefull when I have owend one since I joined...
  13. Scotland, West Lothian. I have added this to my profile. Ok, as requested. I am please to say my Z is now free. The council plowed and gritted my street this morning then 2 young lads offered to clear my drive for a fiver. Result.
  14. Cheers guys. I have cleared the top now incase the wheight dented any panels. I have however left a Mohican around 20cm wide the full length. Looks rather funny.
  15. Just going to go out and clear it now. Starting to get conserned about the wheight event thought the snow is quite fluffy. Dont want it to thaw and then notice my bulge has disapeared.
  16. Cant see mine moving any time soon......
  17. Thanks But I already have a local place picked out. Just wondering if its safe for the LSD.
  18. I need to get my rear brake rotors skimmed. I was planning getting them done on the car at a pro cut equipped garage. Is it safe to do this with my UK 08 plate. Just I read something on here about not testing brakes on rollers and damage to the LSD. Surely an on car brake lathe spinning one wheel at a time can’t be good? Thanks
  19. Yep its a Pro-Cut on car brake lathe. Klassics Motor Co 36 Locks Street Coatbridge ML5 3RT I would have hoped the dealer checked for any other problems such as a sticking calliper. Thanks
  20. Thanks for the info people. The Nissan dealer is going to ask nissan if they will replace them as "a gesture of good will" Not holding out hope. I am probably going to get them skimmed. I have had a price for skimming them on the car of £50 per disc. Does this sound about right? Thanks.
  21. Thank guys. Will get them machined if no luck at dealer. Found this. Plenty of places close by. http://www.skimmydiscs.co.uk Any idea on cost per corner?
  22. Yep some W*****R also ran a key down my wing a couple of months ago. And some W*****R ran a key up on side across boot and down other side of my gfs car a week ago. Both cars are silver and the scratch is barely noticeable with a finger nail. Any ideas for a cheap repair chaps. Why do these people feel the need to do this?
  23. After reading this forum I suspect I have a case of Disc Thickness Variation. Went to Arnold clark nissan this morning and they said "Because the car is 2 years old with 22000 miles it would probably not be covered under warrantee because it would not be classed as a manufacturing defect. The car is still on its first set of front break pads and front tyres. There is virtually no discernable lip on the edge of the discs. Most of the 22K has been motorway miles. I realise discs could be classed as consumables, but at this mileage on a 30K car? Surely the material is none uniform if it is wearing at different rates to cause a varying thickness. Not happy. Toyota replaced the discs on my celica at 52000 miles for the same issue without question. What do you guys think?
  24. The stuff I have just bought in halfods can be used without water in extreme winter conditions and its florescent green which is cool. As for the heated jets, I had an Omega MV6 with heated jets and I believe trace heated pipework. Still froze up but thawed after about 5 mins.
  25. I am in exactly the same position. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=28980 I think that if a Nissan dealer is telling me that my gearbox needs to be removed for inspection / repairs, then because the car is under warranty it should be at no financial risk to me. This however seems not to be the case. What is to stop a dealer thinking business is a bit quiet, lets worry a customer into having his gearbox stripped find nothing and have him foot the bill?. This sould not be the case on a 1 and a bit year old £30K car under warrantee in my opinion. In my case if you read my thread to will see one dealer is saying it needs fixing and another of the same company is saying it is perfectly normal WTF. PS can Nissan not make reliable bearings, had a rear wheel bearing replaced at 13K.
