  1. Personally and in all honesty. I would never elect myself to be a moderator but I do think some changes would be good. I do think threads on here get closed at the wrong time and far too early taking alot of the fun and humour out the place which used to be here. Stuff on the forum doesn't get dealt with quick enough ie. for sale threads getting updated and posts approved. I do think other members would like to help and elect themselves to be part of the moderating and meet organising team.
  2. I did not take anything out of context. I said you both said you struggle for time.
  3. What about all the members with lots of time to watch the forum. What about other members with lots of "contacts"? The things you have spoken about, contacts, organising meets etc, this isnt moderating thats meet organising. I posted stuff for sale and bumped it and by the time the bump got approved it was the next day ? This is where the moderating fails.. Almost every moderator on this thread has said they lack time... well why not allow them to organise meets and allow others to moderate?
  4. +1 Changing jobs (again) Working 12 hours a day in my new house whilst on leave. Planning and paying for a wedding in 6 weeks. I can barely afford the time to eat never mind put a campaign together! barely time to moderate???
  5. This is just me against the moderating staff which is exactly my point. The moderating staff are hand chosen, possibly with the right reasons in mind, but chosen because people either know each other, work together, have personal ties with each other.
  6. I'm sure every great dictator of the world told his countrymen this when in power Someone get round to Neil's house quick......husky has hacked his account!
  7. I think thats extreme but I think thats a fine idea
  8. Its a club forum. I don't agree with the selection processes for moderators and members of the team, moderators in particular. I think democracy is a good thing and the way the club is run simply is dictatorial
  9. It was a word choice issue, i'm sure people understood what i'm saying. Why do I feel like this is me against the moderating team here? I think what i've said and posted has lots of relevance and many people would agree.
  10. I'll post a poll up and submit it to Chris. Chris'I- I have put up a thread with new idea's.
  11. As I said earlier....we do not have a committe. Ok to be pedantic.. "The team"
  12. I would allow the admin team to run it, or elect a non-biased member to open up a poll and allow people to submit a campaign if they wish to go for a position. All current moderating staff would put up their campaign also to say why they should keep there position, what they plan on doing to keep the forum progressing and getting better.... To make it easy, similar to a real election.
  13. Yep chris owns the site, but without members the club isn't a club. This club like any club should have members elected to be on the committee. I'll put up a poll and see what people think, i'll sort it after I eat tea. Surely any great leader would listen to the people.
  14. The idea would be to stagger it 6 monthly so whoever is elected will have a year to prove themselves worthy. People that arent doing what the club members want would risk losing their position.
  15. I'm sure every great dictator of the world to his countrymen this when in power If you have a problem with the way things are done then pm me the specifics. If not then I am happy to offload some tasks from my first day off in three weeks tomorrow. Addressing and posting japfest tickets. Sorting out logistics for lakeZ, Catching up on and posting over meets on four forums...... Then again, I am sat in a Premier inn in Edinburgh so have nothing better to do. lol I could have came and bought you beer and helped you In all honesty there wasn't anything in specific that triggered me to post this thread. I just was having a think about how we can get the club people more involved. What I said above was in jest martin, you know me and you've met me and I have no ill feelings towards you. I think you do an awesome job of sorting the meets.
  16. lol me neither.... my bro's mate had some nice cars he had the 550 then the vanquish the RR phantom coupe Only a dream for us cretins

  18. Handsome chaps What I would request is if the ****-takes are left for another thread as I think no matter how people try and disguise the point i've raised and avoid the true thoughts of the club members, this is still a very important thread and I would like to request that its kept on topic Cheers
  19. I'm not saying we need more though. I think the majority of forum members think agree that it would be healthy to elect moderating staff and demote the moderators we do not think are doing a great job. So far the only people I can see disagreeing with this idea is moderating staff and a couple of the older members. As said before, the younger generations generally have a different outlook compared to the older members. I mean, if somebody put themselves forward for moderator, who would decide? the moderators.... Which is a guarantee'd black ball, whereas if the members had a say the outcome may be different( or may be the same ) Of course i'm speaking hypothetically as the person to illustrate any member who wished to put themselves forward for the position.
  20. I think the chances of a "rogue" are slim as most users are well known. Obviously there is a certain responsibilty to being a mod and I think if these powers are abused then the person should be dealt with appropriately. I dont think the risk is any higher than it is at the moment. Right now the forum does not run as a democracy, the way the people moderating are chosen is in the form of dictatorship. Members do not get to have say if they agree or disagree.
  21. I don't understand what way people putting themselves forward for election would make the forum go to a pay for use club??? If anything is should take the pressure off it as more people would be willing to get involved free of charge and invest free time Sorry lexx can you please explain the relevance of your statement to what I have posted. I have read and re-read various times to try and link the two subjects but failed to do so.. Cheers
  22. I have a picture of my bro's mates one in my drive about 10 years ago. I'm revving it wearing a tracksuit and a burberry baseball hat looked proper swavv
