  1. I needed the haltech also as I'm running 100 shot of nos. the standard ecu does not retard the timing when the nos comes into action. Until a car is driven with the like of haltech people will be sceptical. It's a big outlay for it. I can't believe the difference from the way the car drove on uprev to the way she drives and responds now.
  2. Piggy backs are the work of the devil. Most people except Anders run the platinum pro
  3. The only problem with the haltech is the cost of obtaining one as there not cheap. Unless you get lucky and pick one up cheap. Like you ya jammy fooker
  4. I cant wait to see your car when she's finished matey!! She's a looker and she'll go!! Is it the v3 t.trim you're going for ? I still need to shed all the wait from mines, still waiting on cash for carbon doors and the rear wing and front underskirt from apr... I'm skint now lol
  5. nope but cruise controls a bit jerky as the throttle response is so sharp
  6. I should have my haltech fitted before I head to hk in June!! Lol that's if my engine doesn't blow any time soon lol just get the suspension sorted to plant the power on the road
  7. Could be... To put it into perspective my car made more power than Ian's car on the bottle. Ian had a variety of engine mods, mrev2 xyz pipe etc but standard ecu. My car made almost the same figures as Ian's. He was on 75 shot and mines was only on 50shot yet mines made a tad more torque and hp if my memory serves me right. The throttle response is completely different on the haltech also. I had Leo out in my car and he thought I was on the nos when I opened her up I'm sure he'll report as he has uprev also edit fixed typo
  8. Dan dyno'd it before fitting the haltech the same day and then afterwards. I already had uprev before fitting the haltech. I'd be interested to know what exactly the Haltech can do over UpRev that got you the 20HP. I'm gussing rather than Haltech vs UpRev, it was just a better tune you got and a different dyno. Dyno's can easily read +/-10HP for no good reason on different days, so could be just a better tune and different dyno coming into effect. From what I've heard on the interweb, UpRev is good, but has its limits. I have read that once you get into proper FI and NA builds it can be more performant to use a stand alone unit but these have their problems too, so its mostly down to the tuner. UpRev is the best for the window it operates in, but I get the feeling you can only push its parameters so far past the stock ones before it wont give any more, whereas stand alone will just let you keep cranking away.
  9. It's not though biccy. I gained 20hp at hubs by adding the haltech over uprev. Uprev can do it but it's no where near the versatility level of the haltech. For a big power n/a build the tuning would have to be so precise.
  10. Cool mate. There was a guy on here getting spoken about a while back who made around 400who but I think the bill was around 20k +. I think with what you have done so far. You could strip the engine, high comp pistons, cams, uprated valve springs, injectors fuel pump etc you should break the 300who mark. You are talking probs another 10k for labour and parts, possibly more.
  11. The de revup engine needs a lower collector. I still have the standard one as I gave up chasing n/a horsepower. A standalone ems will be much more versatile than uprev tuning software. What budget are you thinking for your build and what's your ideal achieved n/a power?
  12. Come on chaps no need to get this Out of hand. Jason I know you feel as though you're being shot at but I think what people are trying to do is keep you right in terms of your bank account. A high powered n/a engine is good but you're talking around 15k-20k to do it right and that's still using cheaper parts. The n/a engine requires such precision to produce big numbers that's its sometimes just not worth it. I spanked frightening amounts on my n/a engine and still never made big numbers without nitrous. First port of call would be a decent standalone ems, decats, true dual or single exit exhaust.
  13. Looked like mines when I first got her. She's a beauty
  14. Buddyclub's a monster of an exhaust but not for every day use. A motorway journey will see you develop tinnitus
  15. Yeah that defo aint a nismo exhaust.
  16. Put it this way amt it took me almost 8 hours to get there... Come on chris!!! That's like putting a great porno and missing out the climax at the end!!! Get the final shot up!!! Amt there's loads of good garages round our way. Ross Irvine in salsburgh knows his stuff and the garage in Motherwell is a jap specialist
  17. Silver one is a guy not on here. Spotted it myself the other day. It's a Chinese girl that drives it sometimes, it's her husbands

    GT / Non Gt!?

and its pre facelift which means you're paying higher tax for the older car.. which tbh is why the price was 7.5k Yeah I know Neil, which is why i knocked him down from the £8500 he wanted, and got 12 months warrenty included. Tax wasnt really an issue as I pay less than £240 for insurance! Plus at 3k miles a year the mileage will soon come back in line Fair play.. I don't mind paying the higher tax either. I pay it on a few cars anyways sons couple of hundred a year isn't gonna make a difference. 240 for insurance is good. Think I was about 550 this year.
  19. I was so close Yes your diff will get hotter That cover is an air scoop thing that pulls air over the fins - Mind you I've seen several Zeds without them! Do you track? my covers cracked from jacking her up
