  1. Yes this is why a refrained from naming them. It would come as no surprise to those who think they know. For anyone who doesn't, just be careful who you go to. The mods here do a very good job of keeping an eye on approved forum traders for us all to benefit from, best to stick to those with a good reputation than to stray over to somebody who's background you may not know - even if they've been around for a while. The full story can be found over on the 300zx forum where this guy is a member if anybody wanted to look into it - you need to join up though. I'm not going to speculate further, as far as I'm concerned this thread has achieved it's purpose.
  2. I recently bought an item off a trader on ebay, via a few emails i discovered the full horror of this guy's story. I asked him if i could share this on the forum as a warning to others and he agreed. He has a 300zx and put a lot of money into a big engine build. Sadly for him it didn't happen and he lost a lot of money - hence a lot of parts on ebay. I should state that i cannot varify the story and it is obviously one sided, but i thought i'd share this as i was disgusted by it. I have kept his identity and the identity of the company involved off this thread. I would like to name the company as a warning to others as its a name that comes up from time to time. I don't think they are traders on our forum however. Maybe a mod can pm me to clarify the position? His words.. Sickening
  3. Wow, i'm surprised by that, these guys were the wholesale importers supplying a lot of so called 'importers'. They had hundreds of cars. Last year they opened direct to the public which is when i jumped in and got a bargain. It's sad to see the import scene like this, between the mrs and me we have 3 imports and swear by them (low mileage, no rust etc...). Good luck with the search, hope you find a good one
  4. +1 more from me Looks like good fun, always wanted to try it.
  5. Did you try these guys.. http://www.westmoorsmotorcompany.co.uk/12295/index.htm This is where i got mine from last year, got it at a really good price too Worth giving them a ring, they had about 20-30 zeds around when i was last there. +1 on load exhaust - stock exhaust on import is so quiet you can only hear the engine and road noise (especially on stock tyres).
  6. Good choice bud Zeds can sound very, very nice with the right exhaust on, believe me - there will be plenty along to back me up on this. I have an import and have no problems with it other than the normal bits and pieces - plenty of info on here. If you have any specific questions though fire away - i'll do my best to help you out, as i'm sure the others here will too. PS to the forum
  7. Now have tracking number for delivery, estimated delivery Jul 6, 2010
  8. Ah yes, didn't realise that was a link. Many thanks - problem solved and mail delivered Certainly was, my 301st in actual fact. Will reply via pm in a min bud.
  9. Admins please help.. I have a pm that wasn't delivered because my inbox was full. The message says.. I cleared out some old pm's (yesterday) but it's still stuck somewhere, the odd thing is i've had other pm's since. Can somebody please advise?
  10. It's odd that it happens when not braking. Are you on Brembo's?
  11. Can you elaborate on the description a little, is it doing this during braking from speed? is it only when the brakes are applied?
  12. Thanks you sir.. Just had a look, price is good but then..... Shipping & Handling - GBP £170.91 ..and that will be before UK tax
  13. Tried RHD Japan but don't know Era?
  14. As per post, i just received my new seats today Need some rails now to get them in, Bride type RO are specified for correct fitments. Nobody seems to have stock and one place that has a decent price for these claims 4-5 weeks delivery . Anybody have any experience with any other type of rail or a universal type at all perhaps?
  15. I have confirmation of funds received by Adam. I'll update the thread when there's more information on the delivery Ian.
  16. typical really, seems stupid for what is essentially 4 standard bolts - then again are they standard bolts? they are under a lot of shear so they might not be standard issue - and lets face it you wouldn't want to find that out the hard way!
  17. Don't think Gaz is trading any more.
  18. Ah i see, shame this didn't come about a few weeks ago when i changed my disks and pads - had those bolts in my hands. Is there no info in the service manual anywhere regarding thread designation etc? Scrap that just had a look iirc the front brembo bolts have a 22mm hex head, i think the rears are around a 17mm or 18mm - not enough to go on though, sorry. Had a quick scout on the web too - i see your problem - NO INFO. Good luck with the scrap yard
  19. What size are they and length, if you get me the sizes i'll take a look in the stores at work. We do marine engineering so we have big connectors - usually stainless to
  20. I have a steering wheel remote for my kenwood AND i use the volume knob sometimes. Doesn't bother me that it's on the left. I can reach first gear so i can reach the volume dial .
  21. Looks great, if not a little familiar!
  22. **GB closed** Ian - first post updated with cost for two items. I have contacted Adam for final payment arrangements - please pm me prior to processing payment.
  23. Glad I'm not the only one to do it Get in the car 10/15 min before you have to leave, wait until the temp gauge it's just below or at half way and than drive away ( changing at around 2k for the first 10 min) In relation to your problem........... Soryy I've no idea Not wishing to open a can of worms here, but there is another chain of thought that waiting for the engine to warm up is a bad thing. The logic is that if the engine sits at idle then there is not much oil pressure which translates to low lubrication around the top of the engine. Therefore, driving the car, but keeping under 2-3k rpm increases the oil pressure and avoids this problem. I'm no expert, but that makes sense to me. Regarding the noise, it definitely sounds like something loose, my K1 did this until warm - turned out to be a bung rattling.
  24. interested pending postage costs. pm'd.
