  1. I don't think you understand Wing Tyun at all. Wing Tyun encourages change and development and it is expected for a technician grade to theorise and propose improvements to the system. Wing Tyun is anything but traditional. I certainly do not blindly follow my instructors at all, nor are we expected to, everything taught is demonstrated practically against realistic situations and trained applied against an opponent. Wing Tyun is not like many other Kung Fu systems where lots of 'unnecessary' flamboyant movements have been added, it is based on minimum effort, maximum effect - it is not 'pretty'. I will refrain from going on, but i suggest you read up a little more on the system. I'm not saying it's better or worse than any other system, just that i think you have misunderstood it.
  2. Wing Tyun, Wing Tsun, Wing Chun - all variations or different lineages. I have been training Wing Tyun for a year now and actually have a grading later today. I have studied Karate, Thai Boxing, a little Aikedo and a few others when i was younger. I have to say that there's always going to be a difference of opinion on this subject, but for me i find this training to be completely practical and certainly the best self defence training I've ever seen. I'm hooked on it, I normally put in between 6 and 10 hours training per week. I would say that after a year i feel like I'm just about getting somewhere, it takes a long while to develop the right muscle structure for this unique style and its starting to come together. Its very rewarding. Good luck with the training bud
  3. There are ways but i preferred the look and i personally have no use for radio
  4. Yep, you were there, at least i think so - but i am beginning to get on a bit myself - plus i wasn't prepared for hot weather so it could have been a hallucination! - My boss did all our pics in one go today while the sun was shining - i think you weren't there yet at that time. Sorry but please don't take it personally, I'm sure someone has pics from later in the day? I have to say your wheels stood out immediately and looked very cool, are they a titanium rim? It's a very distinctive finish which had a few people talking
  5. Ok, about to have a few beers now so i'll keep it brief.. It was a great weekend and it was so nice to speak to so many people, some for the first time and some again. We had an awesome weekend despite the weather dodging at the start and in fact i have sunburn from today. A big thanks to all involved in the organisation and running of the weekend, it all worked very well. I had a great run out in a 370z on Sat and loved that! Catering was good and it was made very easy to enjoy the weekend. The competition results obviously finished off the weekend for us, but tbh, without Marky's and Martins tips and tricks of detailing I'd still be trying to get the car clean and dry! Thanks guys . Shire your car looked mint and despite a ruthless animated number plate marketing campaign designed to steal my punters, i thought you deserved a win bud - but tbh Marky after all you went through getting your car to where it is you did too, that serious mods bud . A few pics we took..
  6. That should be shown to everyone when they pass their driving test. Compulsory or no license.
  7. I'm going to wash my car quickly now while its not raining Should be there later this afternoon
  8. pm'd re: Carbon Sill plates (rrp £80) £50 & Carbon Instrument Cluster (rrp £80) £55
  9. I'm really not after dark tints at all, i want something like these from lamin-x: This is called subtle tint. I wouldn't go any darker, as some have said, probably could get dangerous.
  10. i have been thinking about trying a tint on my headlights so could be interested

  13. Ian - damn you man, that looks awesome. That plenum looks the nuts - and you know it! Very nice bud I can vouch for shires engine bling too as i saw it earlier this year, looks very tidy and well put together. Mine for what it's worth.. You know this is going to turn into another photo whore thread!
  14. I will be there for Friday and Saturday, *leaving Sunday morning (*probably staying, although i have other plans). looking forward to this big time now - there are a lot of names that i haven't had the opportunity of catching up with face to face yet, plus a few that it'll be good to see again. I know the band cancelled but what is the plan for the evenings now, any updates that I've missed?
  15. +1 these things can go on for WEEKS too

    My NUTS

What nuts come with the wheels, are they alloy internal drive type? If so i'd get them off and replaced straight away - i had a very bad experience with some breaking apart instead of coming off.
  17. Yeah i wasn't sure if / how it would work. I think you're right it's getting too far away from 350z's. I'm actually not looking for work, i enjoy my job, my recent experience had me re-connecting with a lot of old acquaintances just in case. This thread was an idea that came from that really. My job is as secured as anyone's is these days. I would be interested to see how many other members are in the same technical field as me though. For those who asked (and as some know), I work as a CAD manager (mainly Autodesk 3D, 2D, data management and visualisation applications), i am a former Autodesk Applications Engineer and a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer. The company I work for made reductions in engineering staff. This is fairly expectable when we have less engineering work on the books. My role is grouped in the same department as the engineers which is why my role was at threat. Ironically, as the engineers are quiet at the moment, i am really busy pushing out new software, procedures and training. If anyone else is in a similar field, feel free to drop me a pm.
  18. This week the company I work for made some redundancies. I survived the cull thankfully but it got me thinking, there are a lot of members on this forum and an obvious place to network. I've seen other members sell up due to hard times so I though it would be a good idea to see how many other people are out there in a similar line of work to me, or each other. I haven't really thought through how it could be moderated or managed though - is this possible mods / admins?
  19. Likewise, great use of boot space while retaining the spare
  20. and fibreglass A pillar builds.. Stock A pillar Position located for tweeter A little fabric for shape Fibreglassed ready for filler and finish sanding once fully cured Choice of vinyl against original plastic finish.. Trimming in action, this was the pain stage.. One finished.. ..and fitted.. Front end all finished, months of work and you can barely tell (exactly what i was aiming for).. More pics from the midbass and rear install when i get more time
  21. Doors were easy enough.. You just need to get the door card off and the electric window cover to get access to the outer panels. You have a side impact bar right across the middle which is the only pain though. Bare door, lots of flat panel to resonate! one layer of dynamat extreme takes care of virations.. and one layer of luxery liner pro decoupled on top takes care of blocking road noise.. Dynamat is adhesive, just goes on with a small roller, i cleaned up the metal skin first to make sure it would adhere. The Luxury Liner is just spray glued on top of the silver backing of the Dynamat. Simple. More later.
