  3. Thanks bud, I am in Staffordshire, i tried the link anyhow but its dead - i think the page is down. >>Oh and the Ings kit is one of the nicest and best fitting kits out there Thanks, i'm really liking the kit. Sooo glad to hear its a good fit - i've already been down the road of badly fitting kits on previous cars = False economy Dave
  4. Gaz, Emailed you for a quote pls. Looks like the ings is the quality i was hoping for Dave Gaz, I'm still waiting on your quote bud, did you get my email ok? Will pm just in case you didn't get it. Dave
  5. Thanks ZMANALEX , is this normal or should i be seeking replacement? Dave
  6. Hey, I'm still getting used to my newly purchased 03 fairlady . I've noticed sometimes, but not always, a high pitched noise coming from th rear of the car inside. I can hear it also without the engine running (ignition on). Its loud enough that i can also here it while driving. Anyone got any idea if this is normal, and if not where to even start looking? Many thanks, Dave
  7. Hi, Please forgive another noob question, but would appreciate some advice. I recently invested in an imported fairlady , and when i inspected the car, the drivers seat bolster was a little to worn for my taste. I asked the importer if he would change it, to my suprise he said yes. Now i've noticed after driving for a week or so, that the drivers seat is noticably higher than the passenger seat. I cant see anywhere to adjust it, but it even feels too high. The seats are cloth and its an 03 fairlady. Is the seat meant to be higher or has it been swapped out incorrectly, or am i just missing some adjustment? thanks in advance, Dave
  8. Gaz, Emailed you for a quote pls. Looks like the ings is the quality i was hoping for Dave
  9. Thanks guys, Do most people drop the suspension when running 19's. Looks like i will be purchasing some soon. I see aftermnarket springs available. My car already scrapes over speed bumps like an overweight hippo on tip toes thanks ikarus
  10. docwra, >>Autoglym professional wheel cleaner i will have to invest in some of this, i haven't tried it. Autoglym stuff is usually top banana. I take it it's kinder to the rims than that wonder wheels 'acid'. >>The rims are lacquered I think but you'll find most polished wheels are i am checking into this on the barracuda's. this could be a deal breaker if they have a rubbish finish. PS, do most people drop the suspension when running 19's. I am unsure whether it will need it. thanks, ikarus
  11. martinmac, That kit looks great on your car . Do you mind me asking how much you paid for fitting and painting - i am in talks with my local bodyshop tomorrow. Also, is your rear half bumper bonded to the rear or fitted upto the original bumper with rubber strips along the join? >>I also got bumped by a cossie two days after fitting >> Make sure you get the right rear uk and jdm differ I have a jdm fairlady so i already have the square no. plate bumper. Appreciate the heads up though. thanks, ikarus
  12. Hey, Been looking on z-store and seriously thinking of putting down cash against the ings+1 LX skirts and half rear bumper, along with a Varis carbon splitter and a blitz rear spoiler. I was speaking to my local bodyshop today and the wanted to know about ings+1 hybrid material (a cross between fibreglass and polyurethane i'm told) and fitment. So i have two question, if anyone has any experience of their kits i would surely appreciate it .. 1. how well does ings+1 LX kit fit, i'm told its very good, but thats from sales folk, not fitters. 2. can their 'hybrid' material be bonded and blended, if so, what materials should the bodyshop use to ensure it doesn't crack? Thanks in advance. ikarus
  13. docwra, >>in the depth of winter, with a bit of love they come back to this Good work! Are your rims laquered or coated with anything or a stainless finish? >>Billet 102 looks rather familiar, dont you think? You could say that!! - i guess there are only so many ways to build a wheel but it's shameless how many manufacturers have 'similar' designs. Thanks for the pointer (Image wheels), well worth a browse. My mind isn't entirely made up yet and i'll take a thourough look through there catalogue. ikarus
  14. Hi docwra, Yes i have looked at the work VS-XX, which is a true 3 piece wheel i believe, and at a good price. I do prefer the style of the barracuda's though 'slightly' as the rim bolt pattern is more suptle and the rim dish isn't dog legged. I am looking seriously at a set of 19s in Hyper-Black-Silver, you can choose the rim bolt finish too (for a little extra money), the options are gold or titanium - i'm leaning toward titanium over the standard chrome bolts. Should look as pictured in the link in my first post. I am quite confident of the offsets now (thanks guys ). These wheels are quite inexpensive comparitively (lest than 1.5k) and my only real worry now is build quality and longevity (especially that polished lip). However i have my stock 18s for winter use. ikarus.
  15. Thanks Digsy, Just want to get some confidence before splashing out any cash. Anyone ever come accross this wheel before? http://www.barracuda-wheels.com/we-ba/w ... Silver.php ikarus
  16. Hi all, I'm sat at home with swine flu, making the best use of the time (no not porn - i'm looking at upgrades for my fairlady, i only picked it up last week and have been ill since!). I'm in the market for a new set of rims and I've been offered a a set of 19's (new). Problem is i don't know whether the offsets are ok, they are 19x8.5 ET18 front and 19x10 ET23 rear. Also, anyone know anything about barracuda wheels, specifically this one: http://www.barracuda-wheels.com/we-ba/w ... Silver.php thanks in advance, ikarus.
  17. Stan, No i dont mean to say that JDM is different to UK. I read somewhere that JDM's are either base model, versions S, versions T, or version ST. I think it said that the version S has brembos, traction control, 18's and sports suspension. The version T has heated leather seats etc, non of the latter and 17's. Version ST has best of both. I'm just trying to figure out if there was a suspension difference between JDM versions (i have a tendancy not to believe everything that i read), and if so how is it rated by other members on here? cheers, ikarus
  18. Hi all, I recently picked up a fairlady and i love this car. I have a version s with bremo etc. and i believe different suspension to the standard z's. Is this correct, and if so is it lower than the standard springs, i ask because i am sourcing new wheels and want to know if i should budget for springs or blow it all on wheels? thanks in advance
  19. Thanks Digsy. That all makes sense now. Yeah it looks like i might have to dig deep to get the rims i want
  20. Ok guys, I've been staring at wheels for far too long now. There are some i like and some i love.. I would appreciate some help in identifying some wheels though as i'm going round in circles here.. These i like: (RacingHarts?) which i think are the same as these: (same car by the looks of it) Which i'm not sure are the same as these: (Volks?) which i think are the same as these: I think they are Racing Hart RS521's (first 2) and Volk Progressive TE's (second 2). Can anybody shed some light on this for me? I like these but don't know what they are, not sure if i could get them here in the UK and what sort of price they would be. Also i have no idea whether these are 19in or 20in rims. Very confused Thanks in advance again... ikarus.
  21. Thanks Alex, Sadly i'm not a fan of the 722's. Thank you anyway ikarus
  22. Gaz, I'm really interested in dished rims - really favouring the Rota Spectrum's or RacingHart RS521's - For the money i would want to get the exact rims that i want - even if it means shipping. I could extend my budget a little if required - but would be buying no xmas presents this year If you can get hold of Spectrum's??.. I have time on my hands as i don't even have the car yet! I will give rarerims, CS and Z1 a nudge on this too. Stew, H5, thanks for the pointers. Thanks all, ikarus.
  23. Hi all, I should pick up my 03 fairlady z next weekend (noob). I have budget for new wheels among other things. However, it seems all the wheels that i really like (Volk SF Winning, Volk TE37, Racing Hart RS521 etc.) are REALLY expensive I am struggling to find a good reasonably priced (1.5k of my gbpounds) wheel choice / supplier here in the UK. I found wheeldude.com and saw these (19x9/10 Rota Spectrum - (5x114.3/+20/73) Full Royal Hyper Black): I like the look of these and have emailed them. I have no idea on quality etc. though. Anyone know if its costly for shipping / tax etc to buy from accross the pond? Also any recommendations for wheels and / or suppliers is gratefully recieved Thanks in advance. ikarus
