  1. ok, so i got the kit yesterday from Envy and all is good, ie correct kit and no courier damage . I now have the car booked in to get it all fitted and painted Someone i was speaking too at JAE this year mensioned that he had fitted an ings bumper to his skyline (infinity 350gt) and that when it was baked to cure the paint, it warped. Something to do with the temp difference between hybrid and standard fibreglass. As the instuctions that came with the kit are in Japanese i can't confirm if there's any truth in this, anybody got any clue about this areo hybrid material or any idea where i can download an English copy of the instructions? - i have scoured the ings+1 website and hammered google both without any luck. thanks as always.
  2. Can i tag on to this or is it too late? 16) fatalus 17) Vik54 18) ikarus ?
  3. I have one, i'm in Stafford PM me later for details.
  4. Certainly hope so, damn shame winter is fast approaching though! So you did, i was with jigsaw and drill and didn't hear, my appologies . Will give you a shout back later today once i'm back from lunch with my parents.
  5. Well the waiting is almost over, according to Envy the kit arrives on Monday (well, docks in the UK anyway), it took a while as they were made to order and shipped by sea, but the car should now be in the body shop in the next few weeks . I have in the mean time been very busy a few popular mods - and designing the mother of a custom audio install - i'll keep that under wraps for now though untill the car is painted and it all comes together. However, as soon as the Ings pieces arrive the car goes into the bodyshop for Ings LX sides and half rear, Blitz rear spoiler, Varis carbon front splitter, carbon intake and carbon wing mirror covers. Oh and i should mension a full respray in bright white. Then on for possibly a carbon roof wrap and subtle window tints. Then in with the audio.. should take me up to 2010.. then maybe a hint of supercharging.. Nice to have the project back in production rather than development, been chomping at the bit since i saw all the lovely cars at zedfest . ikarus
  6. Nice meet, was good to meet some of you on Sunday, sorry i didn't get to meet a few more. Was very nice to see all the zed's, and not just the new models
  7. Hi Chris, Can you enduce the noise when going from reverse to first gear? Best tested with windows down. Will sound like a metalic click (as the axles enguage) if it is the axles. This is a very common fault, but can be put right without too much bother.
  8. Big thanks to CS for supplying and replacing both my CV's last week and getting rid of that anoying clicking. Excellent job, great price - way, way cheaper than Nissan and with Genuine Nissan parts (looked like whole CV joints too). Dave
  9. Yes i'm coming along to this, would like to show my face definately as a fairly new member - unfortunately i'm double booked with JAE on the same weekend so can't stay over. Will likely drop in on Sat for most of the day and head up to JAE later on, or i could do JAE on Sat and head up Sunday for this one? Not decided yet. 1.Steve Burns 2. ClarCE 3. H5 4. M13KYF 5. 10. he he .. I knew this was coming ! It will take me a long time to get over the shear terror i experienced while 'accelerating enthusiastically' for the fist time bungs out, i might need therapy There should be a disclaimer included in with this exhaust.. Warning - Your K1 without bungs can cause earthquakes in distant countries!
  11. Hopefully its just a difference on JDM's? Can someone confirm this? As for the noise level debate for K1 / K2 / Scorpion etc. etc. I have been driving with this exhaust for a little while now and here are my observations and conclusions: - A lot of people are nervous that the K1 will be too loud, even with bungs in - as was i. - IMO the stock Nissan exhaust is FAR too quiet for me. - IMO the K1 with bungs in is not TOO loud, it is just a lot louder than stock - see above. - K1 is quite drivable day to day bungs in, and is quiter than my MR2 turbo with Apexi N1 exhaust. - IMO K1 bungs out is WAY loud - i personally cannot drive like this (still in shock!) - IMO K1 looks great and suits the look i wanted for my car. - For me K1 for the money is spot on, build quality is great and fit was perfect first time. - I am very satisfied with the K1 and love both the look and sound of it - bungs in! *disclaimer - just expressing my opinions, not making any statements here. hopefully this will be helpfull to some other members. Dave.
  12. Hey all, My z will be going in for a full (white) re-spray once the rest of my bodykit arrives from Japan via Envy (thanks Gaz), having Varis front carbon splitter, Blitz rear wing and Ings LX rear half bumper and sills. In all i'm very happy with how it's going to look, except for the grille. I like the lines of the stock front bumper, but i saw this grille.. ..on a yank 350 and quite liked to look, especially combined with the Varis carbon lip . ..sooo, anyone know what the hell this grille is, is it a different front all together or just a grille mod? Would li8ke to do something similar. thanks in advance. Dave
  13. Just been for a ride with the bungs out...................... holy crap Now that's loud!! Bungs are back in... or my neighbours will up pitch forks and torches and i won't live to see September! In all seriousness, the exhaust completely changes note without the bungs, much deeper throughout the range. Two completely different sounds from the same exhaust - two for the price of one! awsome for the money Dave
  14. Big thanks to CS for supplying and fitting my new K1 yesterday, great bloke, great service, great prices Loving the sound of this car now, had an 'energetic' drive back home! Thankfully the exhaust doesn't drone at motorway speeds which was one of my concerns. Just sounds awsome when you need to boot it. Superb exhaust for the money. Looks great too. Some pics to follow as soon as i get a chance. Dave
  15. Carefull fella! I picked up a fibregalss bonnet from a spray shop some years back, only about 5 miles. had it fitted whilst there and drove back. About 30 mins after i got back the old bill knocked the door. Somebody had reported it and they tracked my address down from the reg. As i had a bonnet on the car in fornt of their eyes they couldn't prove anything and left dissapointed. A very lucky escape, and a lesson learned - i wouldn't entertain risking that ever again. If i were you i'd organise a pick up or delivery and be safe, not sure what the damage would be if you were caught, bet it wouldn't be good though . Just my experience. ikarus
  16. Quick update to conclude the question, i had the ends made up by a friend at work and i fitted the kit. There is a noticably smoother throttle response now which is nice. The big plus though is that the cable i used is absolutely fine, no heat issues at all. I have run this for approx 120 miles now with no issue, net cost £0 as i already had the cable. pics below...
  17. Will do, not sure what i will use yet. The company i work for design and build some serious electrical kit so i will ask them. Pics will follow shortly..
  18. Thanks, i 'assumed' it would be, be we know how dangerous assumptions can be! I did some heat testing earlier on a small piece and its damned good stuff. Even when on a naked flame it won't burn. Going to get the ends made up at work and fit it Thanks all
  19. Good call. I can feel a bout of destructive testing coming on. I have plenty of cable, and various heat sources, including fire Will post the results, if i don't burn the garage down Dave
  20. Hi, I have enough 4 Guage cable from a car audio amp wiring kit to make up my own grounding kit. It seems like a pretty simple job, especially as the electrical guys at work can sort the ends out neetly for me. My only question is relating to temperature will the amp wiring kit be sufficiently heatproof for bolting to an engine block, do the kits you can purchase use a different type of cable? Any advice welcomed, dont want to burn the z down thanks, ikarus
