  1. Hmm from what I've read it's not actually that. Put in rather simple terms there but it does make sense. From all the interwebs reading I've done so far it looks like, unless you are running massive boost, the turbo will be fine. The issues seem to be: Metering the air a second time as it goes back past the MAF on the way out which causes overfuelling, thus backfire and dead cats. Personally I think it'll put unwanted strain on your throttle body, but I've seen zero people saying it's an issue so far. Also if you have any oil in your intake pipes, that's going to be spat back into the MAF which can't end too well for it, I guess the air filter too.
  2. How so? Not doubting you at all, genuinely curious as I've never encountered that Any oil in the intake pipe would be pushed back into the AFM?
  3. Yeah, I can't see it doing the AFM any favors kicking air back at it from engine side, considering my oil kicking about in the intake at the moment, I think it's a short route to a dead AFM. Ahh well, I need to count my pennies for a new BoV still, the blitz one blows way too early and there's no way to adjust it
  4. So all that pressurised air then has to flow back through the turbo... Wait, I've been inspired to research... Ok, here you go. I'm off to the celica to take off my BoV that drops pressure too early. http://www.autospeed...gestions&A=1457 But then... the overfuelling it's going to do because of the double metered air... More research required. And then surely it builds up a large pressure differential either side of the throttle body... I have no idea any more. sorry celica, you shall continue to dump too early until I buy a new BoV
  5. Yeah, please don't do this, it won't end well for your turbo.
  6. So someone should buy it and get it copied (well!)
  7. You haven't seen slip road fail until you've been round the Coventry ring road!
  8. Should be a fine and points for them imo. Seen more traffic caused by these bell ends than anything else.
  9. Nah it wasn't them, it was most certainly the bitch's fault who pulled across me though
  10. Ah this makes me all homesick
  11. Amazing, man I should get a dash cam just for these moments.
  12. Haha yeah that's it exactly. "look it's dashed for a damn reason". The mrs is quite chilled out about it though as we've never (touch wood) been in any bad situations whatsoever despite the local west midland drivers best attempts. When I had the celica on the road she even gave me permission to gun it down my favourite routes My days of driving questionably are long behind me though, so it's all pretty tame.
  13. Nothing wrong with some pocket bolts
  14. We get taught a lot of this stuff on advanced driving courses at work, it's amazing. The instructor I had was ex advanced police driving instructor and the insights are great. I enjoy the "no braking" game, basically you aren't allowed to use the brake which forces you to assess the road ahead and set up your speed accordingly. If you get it wrong it can be a bit of a squeaky bum moment but you take the lesson and apply it next time. You also end up seeing "comfort braking" everywhere, people using the brakes but not actually doing anything with them. Also I enjoyed being free to use the whole road, as he said "you pay for it so use all of it". Why sit on the left if you would get far more visibility on the other side of the road. You're almost taught in normal driving education that going over the dashed line is a bad thing, people give you funny looks if you do, well at least I'll see the horse/cyclist round the corner and not kill them.
  15. Be careful with the door handle silver paint, the tyres can damage the paint on it easily if you shut the door without checking it doesn't hit.
  16. Yeah they are buggered I want to do a nice job of those though so I'll have to get hold of some new rattle cans for it. I should probably pick up some kind of wire wheel thingy to save my hand from all the sanding, no idea what to use though.
  17. Yeah here's a thread about it: http://my350z.com/forum/media-share/50954-how-to-fit-four-tires-wheels-inside-a-350z.html
  18. Get a second opinion though, it's been some years since I did this and my memory is going
  19. I got some 275's and 295's in there before if I remember correctly. I slightly marked the door handle though :/ One in the boot space maybe tucked under the strut bar, hard to remember. One behind the seats. Two on the passenger seat. Yeah, I remember having zero room to move about once they were all in
  20. I had to readjust when moving down here from Scotland for good reason, speed cameras. It just isn't worth getting there the 5 seconds sooner, besides, you'll probably be stuck in traffic anyhow. As for people that drive reeeeally slow, I figure they are either terrified of driving or eco-idiots, I treat both with equal levels of disdain.
  21. Scotland has a better system, not perfect but far far better than England.
  22. I think its pretty bad form to undermine another member's group buy with a negative comment like this, I wouldn't take too much offence as I'm sure none was intended. It's always valuable for people to chip in what they believe the value of a service is. As much as me and Paul had every right to say it was good value, Moped has the right to say he thinks it's bad. Being open and honest with each other about things for sale is the best policy for forum members to get honest and trusted reviews with the best deals.
  23. Can we see the dash cam footage?
  24. I am skilled in bolt retrieval from the undertrays now I might look at removing the front bumper tbh, I want to take a look at the rest of the work the garage did on that area...
