I remember sitting in work as they were discussing the plug removal on the BMW diff, BMW looked a the service life of the diff and know that it wont die in warranty but out of it. its cheaper to make it without one and then they get money for the replacements.

nope, just plain old chrome. Just try running it in the background for the day and see if it does it. Don't do anythign special like chat or anything, just leave it on a random page and use it now and again.

I use FF at work all day with the forum and there are no issues as you say. probably chrome i guess.
