  1. i know what your up to you crazy fool
  2. i've managed to get to page 36 and im taking a break for a cuppa
  3. i'd probably get a bit of dowel the same OD as your poles ID, insert it into one of them, drill straight through both bits of metal, put a pin through. repeat with the other end, that should prevent it coming apart.
  4. I came across this today and am only half way through but the man is a perfectionist so i don't care what car he's working on its all great! http://www.audiogroupforum.com/csforum/ ... hp?t=66958
  5. by slide around what do you mean? if you get your measurements exact you will be fine and it shouldnt move. what materials are you using as this can affect what join type you use. also the application, need to know what kind of forces are applied to it? will it be bent, twisted, compressed?
  6. can you insert a bit of rod inside one of the poles and slot the other one down onto it? or put a bit of pipe on the outside and slot the other pole inside that?
  7. thats what i said to anders, maybe hes just a bit slow
  8. remembering incorrectly then i was thinking of the subs i the stock position.
  9. Thats what put me off doing an upgrade. Ive got a Genesis amp and some Rainbow speakers kicking around from a previous install but cant face the havok of ripping out the HU just to fit one that sticks out or doesn look at least oem-ish. (plus im tight) its not too bad to install on the 350 i've done a few now
  10. see, im glad its not just me, im trying to fins a body shop for reliably painting head light internals. proving difficult.
  11. Sheering wheel  i know its simple but the idea of that pronounced like jim carey in cable guy is hilarious im with you really in the sense i want a HU that looks stock but is of decent quality. ive been looking at a pioneer but they always have to go put a bit shiney bit on it also i need colour variation so it matches however i have the dials at that point in time. really in the mean time just bin the cassete crap and do the bose hack
  12. 1) burn the tape converter 2) burn the pseudo bose 3) have pint
  13. ive not had experience of them on the zed myself but my understanding from those who have used them is that they make a good difference. although i'd avoid taking her out if you can, dont want bashed by some other numpty.
  14. my neighbour asked me if i knew any reliable and cheap places or mobile services to get some scratches repaired on the back of her merc. said i would ask around, any ideas? Mercedes obviously tried to charge her millions. chips away or something any good?
  15. I'll admit to being a bit lost. I'm not sure what the blip achieves really. maybe if you get over from ire you can show me anders
  16. just sounds like it would burn clutch as the engine loses speed to meet the wheel speed? the energy it looses is expelled as heat produced in the clutch... the more revs it has to shave off to match wheel speed the more energy it needs to lose. also does that not give a lurch forward? potentially setting off the traction control. your a crazy man anders
  17. makes no sense. accelerate in 1st climbs to 5500 push clutch in and blip throttle to 6500 engage 2nd which requires 3700 accelerate in 2nd etc etc makes no sense!!
  18. but you are needing the revs to drop to go up a gear...
  19. what? blip when changing from 2nd to 3rd?
  20. im close to saying we need videos
