USB runs at 5V and considering the ipod charges directly from USB without the need for any sort of transformer, I assume you'd need 5V. Maybe your best bet would be to buy one of those cigarette USB chargers, dismantle it and then use the guts of it to feed power to the ipod. yes i was going to say 5V but i dont have an ipod to check. is there an echo

sounds ok to me from what i understand you are doing. You have the main one I always shout about with this sorted, the 12V issue. as long as its regulated down to whatever the Ipod runs at you're fine. If i were doing it i'd probably get hold of an Ipod cig lighter socket charger, open it up and wire that in direct to the cig socket harness as you 100% know its got the right stuff you need going from 12V to ?V

If its a healthy engine you should be ok for that component at least. Most engines are tested on long high RPM runs in test chambers. I've driven 4 hours home to scotland at... shall we say, close to the revs you mention, in early morning and it was perfectly fine.

so my guess would be you cant read it off the dipstick becasue the level is so low it isnt even registering on it yet? where abouts are you? maybe someone can have a look for you?

yes it was and thats why he cant just steal it back off me the house is rented through a letting agency. The landlord at every turn has refused to let them sort anything out leaving us all in a sticky situation. I did go onto the letting agencies website and get the people who are the governing body for them (i forget who it was) told them the situation. they said they can request the letting agency to send me a copy of the complaints procedure, which they did and i recieved. im now in the process of compiling all the information into one bible sized book and attaching it to the complaint letter which means i will be dealing with the director of the letting agency. the windows of the property were f***ed and i repeatedly told them they needed sorted. the drainage had root ingress which there is photographic evidence of from inside the pipe, LL refused to correct this even when told it would be free he breached this to fit the new shower (which took him 5 months to get round to doing ) this one was broken oh so many times, no, infact EVERY time! months and months late for everything if he ever did bother resolving them. this sounds like a tricky job to figure out exactly what the compensation to me would be is this something an outside body would do? as far as witholding the rent goes, i put it against the lack of washing machine. I was without a washing machine for 2 whole months when i informed via email that i would be deducting the cost of 2 months washing from my last rent, if the washing machine is not replaced in the last month (making a total of 3 months without one) then i would keep the lot to pay for the cleaning i have had to do myself. So its not like i just generically and without warning held the rent, i gave them a months notice and they said NOTHING about it, no disagreement or anything. does this cover an overgrown driveway where a gardener is employed by the LL? it got so bad i had to go cut it myself, im not opposed to doing it but it felt silly seeing as it was meant to be done by someone being paid for it ANNUAL!!! i had no annual check!! he "supposedly" had one done when i moved in although both me and the letting agent are off the record sceptical its genuine. basically i moved in and requested a copy of it. the letting agent didnt have it and it took a month to produce. the washing machine was a f'ing death trap with sparks and leaks and i told them as much in an email. and the most important bit at the bottom, jed thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou, i owe you a pie, or a cake, or a pint, or something
