ok the bose setup has an amp in the boot which the bose headunit drives at line level.
the pacrom creates line level signals from the speaker level outputs of the new head unit but since you dont have POS unit you already have line outs (the pairs of phonos on your alpine) so connect these directly to the cars loom , this is why thers 2 ict looms available one connects ot the speakers the other has rca's to connect to the bose amp.
been discussed in depth umpteen times but il save you the searching etc etc .
the oem plenum (intake manifold) slopes heavily at the front to allow it to clear bonnets etc etc
the spacer add volume by rasing the upper section thus allowing more air to the front cylinders . more air more power.
good cheap mod , nothing to speak off top end till its tuned but youl get a nice bump in the midrange torque.
+1 maplins are cheapest adnw ill have everything you need , i have a set of 3 running up to my cubby for iphone video etc.
what you want is male female so what ever the cable coming form the head unit is youl be left with the same, again maplins will have all sorts of single double and triple.

theire airflow numbers are in the ball park for whats needed but my goodness its drawing a couple of bhp off the batery !
anyways im sure we all get the picture ...... yes you need some extra but my goash thats come down in price im sure the basic kit was shade over 6k not so long ago .
so 3800 for the kit factor in another 1-5k for fuel system+tune still a pretty darn good way to get some serious power .

oh yeah for sure to do it right youl need some fuelling , mapping , gauges , clutch/fly ect(youd know ) but isnt that kit meant to just work as is? or does it actually have to have the other bits to work liek the vortech tuner kits ?

omfg the vortech is even cheaper at £3700 ! whats going on , no wonder thers been a flurish in sc conversions on here .
yeah Z power cable is pretty easy , i thought it was going to be a mare but liek you say not that hard really just pop one grommet hole and feed it in .

well if you install it all yourself and just go for the basic so called turn key kits your looking at just over £6 but how many people just do that ?
sometimes i think i shoulda gone Fi with some of my previous cars , woulda been cheaper in the long run .
Think andlid hit it on the head though you get to a point with a car and you tihnk shall i dump 6-10 what ever into buying a new car orrrr put in to what you got .
