LoL ... I know I could have got it a little better than that ... but after and a half I'd had enough ... Now I've just got to do it every time I wash the car and it'll probably get better over time ...

Today I finally got round to completing another thing that's been on my to do list for far too long ... My Exhaust Tips have been dull and grey since I purchased the car and I've always put off polishing them as I knew it would take absolutely ages .. until today that is! It took me aroud an hour and a half to get them looking like this ... I only wish I'd taken pictures of them before I'd started ... but take it from me ... they were BAD! Anyway here's the result after lots of Autosol and elbow grease:

Nice one .. I thought it would pobably be that as the symptoms were too similar to Shire's or it to be anything else .. I think Nissan do them as a pair for £130 ... but you might be able to get them cheaper from a Forum Trader ... Try ZmanAlex

Thanks for the heads up on the Silvertec bulbs Beavis ... I hadn't even considered the brightness of the bulb ... I would probably have bought them had you not mentioned anything ... Are the bulbs in the link you posted the correct fitment for the Zed?

Hi and to the club! I normally use either Tesco 99 ron or Sainsburys Super Unleaded ... Occasionally I do fill the Zed up with reguar unleaded ... I don't think it does any damage but you'll probably notice performance decrease slightly ...

Have you tried reading the code using the flashing light method yet? It's probably your best bet if you can't find anyone with a JBM compatible OBDII reader ... Good luck with it anyway ... and keep us informed ..

It does sound very similar to Shire's issue a while back ... I've just noticed that you've posted this in the JDM Import section ... The only problem I can think of is that most OBDII readers don't really work with import vehicles ... Have you tried the ECU Reset procedure? You can read the error code by counting the flashing CEL just before you reset the ECU ... might be worth trying that if the CEL is currently lit .. You can find the Reset procedure in the Guides section.

I think your first step is to get the CEL code read ... That should give you a good idea of where to start diagnosing the problem ... Where abouts are you based? There's a thread listing members with OBDII readers which you might want to check ...

BRO-T, Did you loose power completely while driving? This sounds a lot like what Shire had with his Zed ... I too was having very similar problems however I never actually lost power Have a look at the thread link below: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=27455&hilit=crank+position

Mark .. What tyres do you have on your Zed? I used to find that my zed wasn't too good in the rain until I changed my tyres from the Bridgestone RE040's to the Falken 452's ... now it feels a lot better to drive in the wet ..
