I only did it three times on a new clutch and the clutch was cooked. Not good enough - this is their top of the range sports car and you should be able to drive it like a sports car not a micra. If you're in warranty take it back. I'll give you the reg of mine as evidence if they play =hard to get. I have read that a heavier racing clutch will sort out the problem.

Nissan dealer removed the clutch which was 'burnt out'. They put it back together and said that was it - have it back. After weeks on the phone to Nissan Uk they finally agreed to put another new clutch in under warranty. In other words do the same as last time. So I've given up. I've part exed it for a Cayman S. I think that if Nissan are going to build a sports car they should do it properly. You ought to be able to drive it hard. On another note my neighbor has just given his GTR back because he got fed up with faults on it. He's got an Aston. hey ho. All the best to you guys and thanks for the support.

That would be a good definition! They said there was a synchro fault on 4th. The clutch works perfectly the rest of the time. If I slip it from rest the pedal stays about an inch or two off the floor and I need to lift it up manually. The pedal then feels 'soft' for a while. The smell of burning clutch is also very prevalent. As I said Nissan have confirmed the fault and agreed it's a warranty issue - more than some others have got out of them as far as I can tell. Interesting to test out their warranty if they can't - as I now suspect - sort out the fault. I've read elsewhere that an after market clutch is one solution - possibly the only one.

I've got an 08 350z Gt pack. The clutch pedal stays on the floor if I drive it hard form a stationary position. Took it to a dealer who confirmed the fault. They replaced the entire clutch and slave cylinder. They stripped and rebuilt the gearbox and replaced various synchros - all under warranty. They told me to bed in the clutch for 100 miles - I did. It was still the same. Nissan UK said it needed to be bedded in for 500 miles - done that and it's still the same. ESP makes no difference. It's now back there waiting for the next pearl of wisdom! Anyone got any further than this?

Just got my first z. 08 model Gt pack. What an astonishing car.
