  1. Thanks for the advice. You want me to put both my headlights in the oven? Surely you're not serious? I think i'll wait for some other hopefully better options but thanks for the reply. If this is my only option i'm pretty hacked off... cheers, Chris
  2. Hi again, Just checked a couple of hours later and there is NO condensation whatsoever, just the same streaks and marks on the inside of both lamps.I was expecting a leaky seal but its not letting anything in at all.Lights work perfectly.I'm figuring its had a leak at some stage and maybe they've replaced the seals rather than replacing the whole headlamp?just guessing... By the way its no.78/176 if anyone is familiar with the car. I realise no ones replied yet as its quite late but is it a sealed unit or can the glass be taken out and cleaned or do I need to replace both headlamps. Have a good evening. cheers, Chris
  3. Hi everyone, I've previously had a 04 gt350z.I purchased a GT4 today after travelling 250 miles there and then a 250miles drive back in the terrential rain!! I was prepared to take it with this problem as I managed to haggle them down a bit and it was a decent price to begin with in my opinion. Anyway basically both front headlights have smears all inside of the glass lens.I wouldn't call it condensation, just weird streaks either side. There obviously in the inside and non conforming.(different marks either side)I've just drove it miles in the pouring rain and there doesn't seem condensation.Just the same as when I began the journey. Its quite obvious too. It's not something I could live with. So i'm under the impression that these are a sealed unit? Am I going to have to replace both headlamps or are these repairable? Any ideas would be much appreciated as I would like to get this sorted asap. Much appreciated, Chris
  4. Yes you can, but its best to put some sort of disclaimer.i.e. I have the car for sale elsewhere and have the right to withdraw at any time.
  5. Evening, I've got an old clifford alarm in my new GT4 that i'm picking up next week. My car is stored in my work car park all night and isn't renowned for a great area(i'm in blackbird leys, oxford),Its known for theft of catalytic converters(where they actually saw them off),theft from vehicles etc.the list goes on... Anyway I thought of putting one of these on just to hopefully keep the thieves away if possible. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clifford-G4-G ... 2ec01b272a I know its a cheapskate option but looks pretty cool and the alarms ok and fairly loud so I don't feel I need to spend 1500 quid on a G5. Does anybody know if its easy to wire in? I guess you just feed it from a power source?radio etc? Cheers in advance, Chris
  6. A bit off topic but I've noticed there seems to be alot of zed owners called Chris?(me obviously being one of them) bizarre
  7. Evening, Finally I think i've found myself a GT4 Anyway I asked them if they'd put an mot on it for me as it is due in a month. The garage duly said yes. They put it up on the ramp and realised the rear box had gone on the flange.I could of just said just weld it but they said they'd put a new nissan one on for me free of charge.(about 600 quid)I said why not just put a stainless on for about circa 400.There not familiar with this car.I recommended the cobra.Anyway I expected them to be putting the cobra on but they decided that they'd put a custom made jobby at a reputable exhaust place they deal with(its not local to me)without consulting me.He explained this was no boj job and this garage was an expert at these and he was going to take a whole day to complete it. Any ideas what this exhaust is going to be like? I was going to moan about it but I thought it was jolly good of them to replace it free of charge anyway. Would be nice to know what i'm expecting as I'm due to pick it up in a week or so. Cheers, Chris
  8. All depends how much u wanna spend. The more u pay the better the quality. We charge between £100-375 per tooth So I guess a middle of the road job is 6-7k cash?
  9. So I guess this is you're car back up for sale? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p cheers, Chris
  10. That sounds more like a brothel than any sort of catering arrangement! Well I could tell you a few stories about 18 year old waitresses.I've got a flat in the hotel and one knocked on my door in a cowgirl outfit, guns and all and said , well you can guess! Needless to say I took her up on her offer
  11. I had the front bonnet of mine done a a few years back on my 200sx. Thats what you get for being a Kitchen Manager in charge of 10 stressed out chefs doing 4000 people a week. Don't half see some stress going down. I try not to give them the 'ramsay treatment' but sometimes it's un-avoidable due to the stress! I've had a few saying there 'gonna do me or my car'(or both!). PS I have a nice big wad of cash sitting here waiting on you moving practice to sort me out some hollywood smile sh*t Always fancied one of those porcelain veneer jobs. How much for a full set with discount?
  12. Yes I realise this thanks.I looked at it and knew I would never be able to bring it back to its former glory. It wasn't that it was that bad but it just wasn't able to be put right. I never said 'has it been in an accident?' before viewing but I did say any dings, bumps scratches etc and that wasn't disclosed. Like I say when I asked when viewing he said it was a cash deal in a supermarket prang. I guess i'll keep my dough in my sky rocket for now... Thanks for all you're input everyone.. Chris
  13. Whats the problem here? I did an HPI check which came up clear.I asked in great detail about the bodywork etc before travelling. At no time did he say it had had an accident or there was an inch gap on the offside front bonnet, headlamp and most of that side. Maybe I should have just bought it and lived with it...
  14. Went to look at this car today.I really was sure it was straight. Talked to the owner for some time. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4029733.htm Only went to high wycombe so only 32 miles on the train. Got there and first impressions were great.Had a quick look over the car and looked at the service history etc.All looked good. Noticed a bit of a bump on the offside but not too much of a big deal. Anyway took for a test drive and it really was a dream.. Everything tallied up. I decided to have a better look on return from the test drive. Looked at the front and offside and obviously there had been at least a 20-30mph bump. The light was an inch out of alighnment and the whole left side was half an inch out. I questioned the owner and he admitted it was a supermarket bang and a cash deal repair. To be honest the car was sound but I just feel let down by the un-disclosure of the obvious accident.. If I tried to sell I've got to look the buyer in the eye and say 'no accident here the cars straight as a dye' It was up for £8500 then went down to £7500 but it really would bug the hell out of me with the mis-alighnment. The owner knew i'd clocked him and refused any offer in my opinion knowing that someone would come along without the knowledge I have. The car was a beauty, one owner and £32500 new 7 years ago.Just a real shame it wasn't straight... I mean the guys not short of cash, why not just be honest? Rant over
  15. Hi all, Any advice much appreciated. I've owned a 350 before and looking for a new one for some time.I didn't have this issue with mine. I've contacted someone and they state that on the outer edge the tyre depth isaround 3-4mm and on the middle of the tyre is 5-6mm.He states this is normal on the rear tyres on 350z's. To me this isn't normal unless hes been drifting round roundabouts. unless i'm mistaken? Is there any concern about this? Cheers in advance, Chris
  16. Wasn't sure about the cold air intake but noticed the spacers. I've e-mailed him for more details. Cheers Stew
  17. Had a look at that advert last week but decided the one I was after looked better. Anyway am I being stupid but whats the big round thing that looks like an exhaust(but obviously isn't) in picture 8 in the front of the grill just below the S on the number plate on the right hand side? Is it some sort of intercooler or something? lol not sure... Oh and I don't like the tacky GT4 stickers but I guess they can be removed with no probs.
  18. Well 'Attak Z' I presume this is the Ken guru you were talking about? Looks like i'm in for a long search lol
  19. Would prefer the ultra yellow yes. I'm open to persuasion but just liked the look and rarity of the yellow GT4.
  20. Had a look at this earlier. Looks like a real shitbox to me..
  21. Afternoon everyone, As the title says I am after an ultra Yellow GT4.Was getting one delivered to me this Saturday but the seller has backed out at the last minute.Says he now wants to keep the car. It was this car. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... TQ:GB:1123 Was really looking forward to saturday as I've been searching for 4 months now. Cheers all, Chris
  22. now I am really confused. The HPI states that insurance didn't pay out?Exactly Where on the hpi does it state this? you still state the HPI states its a cat D?
  23. I really don't know how people live with themselves attempting to rip people off(or bend the truth literally lol.) I really couldn't sell a car that I knew was a total mess and live with myself. karma I guess... What comes around goes around.
  24. I'm confused. The reason for it being a cat D is that the engine died?Insurers dont pay out for a dead engine and proclaim it a cat D. There must have been an accident at some stage. Be careful. It does depend why it died; if the previous owner drove it through a flooded road and hydro-locked it then insurance may well pay out on that but i don't know what CAT they would declare it as. i've never seen or heard of a CAT D due to engine damage so the 'be careful' definitely still stands. DB I agree this is possible but extremely unlikely. If the owner drove it through a flooded road and the engine died I would expect a total loss which means extensive damage thus being a Cat C.It would need a VIC check before being declared roadworthy unlike a cat D which can be repaired and sent straight back on the road (with an mot of course)
