  1. Bloody hell Ricey....Surely you're not serious!
  2. I agree ricey, maybe i'm talking a load of garbage. The only porsche i've ever driven was my old mans 996. The only reason I said about the cayman was its rarer and I guess a bit more exclusive. As suggested its near enough a boxster and either are not for me. All the best, Chris
  3. I think we'll agree to disagree.. I can't make character up...the 350z has bags and bags of it...I've owned nissans all my life and they all stand out from the crowd in one way or another. The only porsche i'd ever buy is a 996 or possibly an older 911.. Just my lowly opinion.. cheers, Chris
  4. The cayman I quite like, I'm not sure why but it has a bit more character, maybe not many about and the exhaust in the centre section is ok. Would I swap...I doubt it without monetary value considered..
  5. Apologies about the spelling.edited Dblock.Just not a car for me and no I didn't call him a 'retard'.I just stated that the the 350z has much more character and thought the boxster was for er..girls... sorry but just my opinion.. All the best, Chris
  6. So i'm having a look over at my zed and this guy says to me 'nice car but i've been thinking about getting a boxter, whats your opinion?' I wont say what I said but why would anyone want a boxster over a 350z? I really don't see the comparison. A 350z has serious character and a boxster has bugger all in my opinion. Feel free to offer your opinion and slate me.. Now a 996 is a different matter but not a boxster.. I really am lost for words.. Please advise your opinions.
  7. Unbelievably it was the air-con off that was causing the low revs.Sitting nicely at 800rpm.Just took it out for a major blast and seems all good. Hissing is still apparent though.I'm pretty sure the garage took it for a spin though as my fuel trip computer stated 10 miles less than when I dropped it off, the cd player had changed discs and tracks, and the air con had been switched off.Blighters eh!! will investigate tomorrow. cheers
  8. Any idea what is the rpm supposed to stabalise at?
  9. No its not up and down.I'll try and get underneath and have a look.
  10. its definitely coming from underneath.Seems sort of around the same level whether hot or not.Just before I dropped it off I swear it was running about 800 rpm and never missed a beat.now seems to settle at 400rpm and doesnt seem to be happy at this level. cheers
  11. a constant hissing but not from where it was welded. cheers chris
  12. I presume when warm it should idle about 800rpm?
  13. I got my 54 350z welded at the flange today. On driving home it seems on a low idle, about 400 rpm(you can feel it needs to be higher).I got out the car and I can now hear hissing but not from the joint thats welded.I'm guessing they've cracked the exhaust somewhere? advice much appreciated. Chris
  14. i'll take the two bridgestones for the asking price cheers i'm in oxford. Can pick up at your convenience. Cheers Chris
  15. Yes thanks guys. I'd already done a search and some have replaced the box.Just wondered if its likely to get worse or if theres anything that can help the situation. Much appreciated.. Chris
  16. Hi All, Advice needed please. 54 plate GT.79k I have an issue that has just popped up yesterday. Took the car out last night and for the first 5 miles or so everytime I changed from 6th into 5th I hear a nasty crunch. Its as though the clutch isn't depressed properly. After 5 miles or so this problem is non-existent. Took the car out this morning and exactly the same thing. Is this the synchros on the way out? If it is I guess this means new box, clutch and flywheel? If so this ain't gonna be cheap!! Advice appreciated as its driving me round the bend! Chris
  17. A ridiculous price for a great car. I honestly cannot believe this has not been snapped up.I'm even thinking of buying it and I already have one! The only thing that puts me off is the azure colour.Personally I'm not a fan of this colour. Not sure why but its not for me.Each to there own I guess. GLWTS
  18. hi all, thanks for any advice in advance. Bought yellowstuff pads 600 miles ago.Running OEM brembo discs. All seemed well.Squeaky for a while but turned out ok.Now seem to have a grinding noise on slow or heavy breaking(very noticeable, seems like when pads are low, metal on metal). Also seems to be heavy wear on offside rotor, nearside is ok. Do I need to invest in new rotors? Phoned a mechanic I know and he says might be the new pads, give it a bit of time.. Its just bothering me now as I know my brakes are seriously important. Also only had the car 4 months. Don't mind spending a bit of dough but just want the best option. Cheers Chris
  19. Not bad looking, but not sure how they would look on a red car (I'm not much of a fan of black alloys though ). These are my favourite aftermarket wheels, which I think would look great on a red Z: Yes these look the balls..What are they volks? They look like at least 2 grands worth!
  20. well I used to have a S13 and know the sxoc well. What does everyone think to the new wheels on my chilli red GT(link already posted).
  21. I was thinking of bagging these babys... viewtopic.php?f=32&t=44615

  23. I'm thinking of buying some new wheels for my 2004 GT.I hate my stock alloys! Whats the going rate for stock alloys with a bit of curbing(not by me) running pilot sports 2 with about 4.5mm left on all corners. Please advise. Cheers Chris
  24. Funnily enough that's where the last owner got his last two services and recent mot done.I bought it in bampton 2 months ago.Exactly what service did you get for your 100 quid? cheers for the reply. Chris
