  1. Theres scammers everywhere.I contacted one and he wants to use an escrow service. I can smell a rat a mile off. I'm just playing with him at the moment. Anyone else want to play with him? It would be good to give him a bit of his own medicine. Here's the linky.. http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-moto ... /106747096
  2. Afternoon, I've been searching for a Zed since the sad loss of my last one in March. Its a big debate buying a category D vehicle but there can be some advantages. I did buy a cat d 200sx back in the day.No problems there, saw the pictures of the superficial front end damage.Served me well for 7 years until the bottom end went.(common issue on the CA18 DET) Anyway I was figuring if it had been fixed up good and proper and I was planning to keep the car for a few years then a cat d vehicle on a 10 year old motor is not such a big deal.(admittedly to some anyway) So I spend detailed conversations with the guy, I ask for pics and more pics of everything you can imagine. He sends me copys of all receipts, mot's etc and all seems to tally up. I did an HPI check and obviously a cat d vehicle, no finance etc. I should have raised the flag when I asked if the Bose skipped and he replied NO.I said are you sure about that and he states well yes it does but is normally OK after 15 minutes or so LOL. Anyway I ask so many questions that I decide to make the 4.5 hour trip on a train slightly excited for the drive home. I get there and immediately look around the whole car quickly. I then take a closer look. The front bonnet doesn't look in alighnment. So I get a pound coin and it gets stuck halfway.I then look at the light and theres a massive inch gap between both sides.(compared to the other side)And the light was all misty and I could hardly see the xenon inside. Then I look at the rear and the unit above the taillight was hanging out an inch or so.The pics he'd sent me had cleverly just missed out these angles. There were other issues but you get the idea. I offered him £5000 and not a penny more.(What was I thinking!!)He declined after a couple of mins debating. I said next time you try and sell this car tell the potential owner BEFORE they travel about this shoddy job of this so-called repair. So I had to walk back to the train station and stopped off in the pub mulling over my wasted journey. But I just said at least I didn't buy a bloody lemon! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p Sorry for the long post but felt I had to rant!! Cheers, Chris
  3. Cheers for that Alex. Obviously I can check the dodgy dip stick when cold and hopefully it should be at maximum. What i'm not sure on is what the PSI should be at the various stages.i.e on, hot and when driving. Can you help me out here. cheers, Chris
  4. Thank Alex. How do I check the oil pressure.Do I let her warm up and then check?(obviously its on the gauge above the Naff SAT NAV) He states shes running at 40 PSI when warm.I guess this would be OK? I'm going to purchase her on tuesday so any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers all. Chris
  5. Cheers Wasso, I've also got an advisory on the last mot that states 'offside rear shock absorber has a slight mist of oil'.This MOT was last November. I presume the shock would have to be changed on the next mot? I guess its best to do both sides? Also any idea on the cost on both shocks at a decent independant garage? cheers in advance again! Chris
  6. Evening, I wonder if you could all give me a helping hand with a question please? I am in the midst of purchasing another 350z.I've just been sent copys of all the history, paperwork etc. On one of the services this year there is a hand written note on the top of the receipt stating... "Oil - approximately 15+35 PSI at idle when warm." Just wondered if this would be correct as it just seems a bit odd hand written on the top of the invoice. Sounds OK but I'm not entirely sure. thanks in advance, Chris

  19. Some advice please everyone. In my other thread I recently had a total loss of my zed due to clipping a kerb.I want another one but I just don't fancy the silver/gunmetal as every one you see is this colour.Mine was chilli red GT and these are non existent nearly.I've been looking in the for sale section and wanted everyones opinion of the orange zed for sale. link for easyness.... viewtopic.php?f=56&t=55643 personally I like it but what does everyone else think about the colour and whats it like in the flesh? Thanks in advance Chris
  20. I'll take my money and run I guess They want 35% for the salvage.I wouldnt even think about it for the price. If they said a grand then o.k. I saw the damage and it isnt as heavy as it sounds.I mean they've quoted £824 for a wheel and the front slam panel is a little bent. The only real problem is the rear axle and shocks.Bumpers not a big deal and theyve quoted £800 for new tyres. So now I want another. So if anyone knows one for sale around that price or more then let me know.I only want black, red or white. cheers
  21. they've offered me £6850 minus my excess= £6500 tried to haggle got an extra 50 quid but they didnt want to budge. Could be worse I guess.
  22. Hi all, Some advice needed.I clipped a curb on a dual carriageway last monday which spun me out and totalled my car.I'm only just getting used to the loss to be honest. I''m waiting to hear an offer from the insurance company in the next couple of days.I guess they will lo-ball me and then i'll have to argue the toss. The thing is I love the car and I might ask them how much they want for it and get some help maybe from you guys and fix my baby back up. It was a red 04 gt with 82k on the clock.Never skipped a beat since I had it. Anyway heres the quote....
