  1. I am going to Wacken this year. http://www.wacken.com/en/woa2010/main-bands/billing-2010/ I have to admit that the line up is not a strong as download but overall it is a much better festival. I started off going to reading festival when i was about 16. This was round about the time it changed from a rock festival to another annoying pop festival (Which is annoying cos i now live in reading) I then spent the next 6 years going to download. It started off as a very cool festival with good bands and a good atmosphere. However, every year that was eroded slightly. Bands like the prodigy, pendulum and my chemical romance began creeping onto the line up and while i do quite like the prodigy and pendulum, they have no place at a metal festival. In addition to this, each year as i got older (i am 24 now) the average age seemed to get younger. In 2006 i went to download for the last time. the organisation at this festival was shocking, queues everywhere and only one water point in the festival arena!!!!! It was also the year of the "Riots" which was basically a bunch of sixteen year olds, whose parents had let them go to the festival, acting like total arseholes cos they were able to drink as much as they wanted without fear of their parents. European festivals are a totally different story. Everything and i mean EVERYTHING is better thought out. Here are some examples: - The last band usually finishes at around 3am (not 11pm cos of the stupid noise regulations). They still have their head liners on at about 11pm but there is still stuff to do after they are finished. At the same time bands start between 1pm and 3pm (Who the f**k wants to get up at 10am for a band at a festival?) - You camp next to your cars. You drive into your plot, set up camp and off you go. There is no lugging all your stuff for miles and miles. Plus you have more flexibility with what you can bring and use. Last year in our camp we had a marquee, a full size gas bbq, a generator and two fridges! - There is respect between the patrons of the festival and the inhabitants of the village where its held. The whole village supports the festival and most of the them try and get evolved in some way. I.e. setting up a breakfast bar in your garden or running a hose in your drive way allowing people to have a walk in shower (It can get very hot!) - There are two main stages next to each other. There is a 10 min gap between a band finishing on one stage and another starting on the next. All you have to do is shuffle sideways. I could go on forever, but these are just my opinions. I am not trying to rubbish download or say that people shouldn't go, but if you get the chance you should def check out some of the European festivals.
  2. So on Wednesday i had a P2 service done by the lads at at Japex. As usual, i was very impressed with the service and price. When i went to pick the car up, i asked if their had been any issues. It was then that Ross told me that they had found a dead sparrow in my drip tray. Anyone else found anything good in their drip tray?
  3. he posted it knowing fine well the mods had told everyone to stop doing it. a ban without warning seemed to jump a step though Its a big problem when there was approx 8 pages of it the week before, its a 350z forum not an IBTL posting forum, all those that posted in that particular thread had them deleted anyhow and so took a backward post count. Oh and the warning was quite clear in the thread. People were asked to stop posting it only for another IBTL to be posted again. Sarnie was banned for approx 18 hours from noon last friday till about 6 on saturday morning which is just a slap of the wrist. He as been free to post since then. And like Nixy points out above there was a certain funny side to it anyhow which Liam should realise. FFS we have been trying to find a reason to ban his arse for 3 years, so i took it Thanks for explaining. It does seem pretty pointless though, both in posting "IBTL" and reacting to it. It seems like one of those things that only happens because people react too it. Either way, seems a bit silly....
  4. Am i being slow or something? What is the big deal about people posting IBTL???
  5. Hehehe Lube and RimWax.................
  6. I had the same issue with the seat belt guide. Its a simple fix, just lube that bad boy up! I have have the same rattle comming from the three dials. While driving today i reached forward and stuck my fingers in the windscreen vents. This seems to stop the rattle. Yours might be the same.....
  7. Hehehe, I am totally gutted not to be going. Even the supprt is epic with Job For a Cowboy, August Burns Red and Between the Buried and Me. Stupid Clapton...........
  8. This is a bit of a long shot, but here goes. I have for sale one standing ticket to see lamb of god this saturday night in brixton. I missed out on the first batch of tickets and bought mine off Pikey-bay for £40. Believe it or not i have my work christmas party on that night which i have to go to. (Seeing Eric clapton and Jeff beck at the O2, LAME!!!!) Looking for £35. Let me know if you want it.
  9. So today i gave my car its first proper clean in a few months. I was first amazed and then depressed to see all the little stone chips and scratches that had appeared in the last few months. Anyone else suffer from this form of depression? Is there a cure?
  10. Took me a while to figure out why my username was in your post......
  11. Can anyone identify their car as par of the stats?
  12. As some of you may know, the government has been forced to disclose MOT Stats on all cars http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/opensecrets/2010/01/mot_failure_rates_released.html This is the bit relating to the Zed. Obviously its not the full picture but still intresting. A more detailed break down on what they failed on can be found here http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/opensecrets/MOT_Make_Model_Comp_2007.xls Year of Test Test Failure Make Model First Use Passes Failures Rate NISSAN 350 Z 2002 128 49 27.7% 2003 740 139 15.8% 2004 1,779 335 15.8% 2005 31 7 18.4% 2006 1 1 50.0% NISSAN 350 Z Total 2,679 531 16.5% Sorry about the grid spacing, looks fine in the edit window!
  13. Nope, right way up. I did stumble accross a way of making the CD skip less in this weather. The problem happens for me when the unit starts to heat but the CD's do not. This causes "fogging" ont he CD which causes the skipping. Eject the CD and hold it facing the blower for a few seconds untill it starts to heat up. When you put it back in the head unit you will have 30 seconds of bad skipping while the temps equalize and then falt less playback. Well at least i do......
  14. Fixed it at lunch. The solution is tricky and requires a high level of coordination. If you have the same problem you should be able to fix with the following steps. 1. Get into the passenger side of the car 2. With one finger hold the eject button 3. With another finger hold the number of the stuck CD 4. Now for the tricky bit. Slam your right knee into the padded bit at hard as you can while AT THE SAME TIME swearing at it at the top of your voice for eating your fav CD. 5. Take out the CD and thank your god/BOSE faries. One for the knowlege base?
  15. So, this morning i loaded a CD into the autochanger at position two. It was early and i *may* have put it in upside down. The CD went in but that disk was not shown as loaded on the screen. Since it does not think there is a disk in there, i am unable to eject it again. When i try and load a cd into that slot, it makes a few noises then changes its mind and plays CD three. I am able to load and eject the CDs from all the other slots without any issues. It just seems to be a bit confused. Any idea how to get the CD out? Thanks
  16. Been on the times website since it came out. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/columnists/jeremy_clarkson/article6907747.ece
  17. Is it just me that was hoping for a diffrent type of bunny?
  18. Learn to "ghostride" the Zed. On my trip back from Germany to the UK, I got coaught in the worst of it and it took me 18 hours to get back. Stick the Zed in 1st or 2nd, then gently lift the clutch, no throttle, maybe feather the clutch till you start moving. Once moving, resist the urge to step on the throttle, just let the Zed "ghostride" itself thru the snow and ice. +1 if your driving in snow/ice its not a race. you will see most cars (fwd) pass you but dont try to keep up as you wont. Also if you know the route then slow down early and use your brakes like there is an egg under the pedal. dont press hard enough to activate abs or you wont stop. Use more of the lane also as it gives you more room for error. For the record, i do know about this and while i am in no way a driving god, i am not a driving 'tard either. I was at my parents house where the snow on the road was about 20cm and with then zed's ground clearance i think i am justified in using the term stranded! What you on about? I was just saying it, its general advice for everyone and anyone who doesnt know. Sorry mate, wasn't having a go. It is indeed very good advice. I was just trying to say that even with that, the elements got the better of the Zed. Perhaps i could have worded it better...... The ultimate advice for using a zed in the snow has to be DONT! Steal a 4x4 and have some proper fun. On a related note, does anyone with a 4x4 fancy giving me a tow out of Tilehurst Station car park???????

  20. Well i am glad you are all have more luck then my. My car is stranded on what can only be described as an ice rink. There is no why i can move it. I even had three people sat in the boot trying to get some traction but with no luck. Not too sure how i am going to get home now!
  21. I am a norton man and *thouchwood* have never had a virus is in all the years i have been using it. I stole a copy of windows 7 from 7 and stuck it on my laptop. Thus far i have not noticed any speed improvements from vista, in fact the start up seems a little slower. The laptop is a fairly high spec and i did a clean install of 7. It seems to me that they have follow the same philosophy as with Office 2007 and the Ribbon interface, I.e Pretty much the same functionality but all moved into a diffrent place. Like, what the hell is the show desktop button doing in the bottom right hand corner?
  22. Yeah, i think i will be giving up to. Just took the car out for a spin. All seems fine. doesnt pull when driving or braking. It was my own fault really, it wouldn't happened if i had the traction control on. Got into a sticky situation and ran of of skill. There are a few bit of plastic that have come off the bumper but they should go back on with ease next week when the car goes to Japex for new brakes.
  23. Thats how us locals spell it - or more effectionatey - Blazingsmoke Or Amazing-Stoat!
  24. I saw your post about the OAP. Was gunna say that you are lucky, at least the animals arn't out to get you.
