  1. I got through 3 Karchers in one year, my Nilfisk lasted much longer and was similarly priced. I now run a Kranzle which is a lot more money but if it breaks it can be rebuilt. The Karchers etc go in the bin! Another long lasting make I had was Lavor. Just buy the best you can afford but I dont rate Karchers myself!
  2. I agree, and could fit it in the van and bring it to your folks lane , jump the bridge too!
  3. I want one now Craig just to see the looks as you kick her over n hit the road!
  4. Morning Steve PM replied to, best wishes Tim
  5. Looks a good process to me Personally I'd have snow foaming as my 1st step, and I'd not re-wash the car after claying. if you dry each panel properly after claying it will be fine.
  6. My suggestions re the Lime Prime vs the LPL is how do you describe your paint? If its as far as you can gauge "perfect" then I suggest the Lime Prime lite, just a paint cleanser pure and simple. If the paint is I have the shampoos you mention, though no glass or tyre products from the Dodo, but do have some Meguiars Endurance Tyre gel in stock if you dont mind a different brand?
  7. I'd use Lime prime lite as a pre wax cleanser followed by Supernatural or Supernatural Hybrid. If you do go for it let me know and I'll send you a discount code to use with us
  8. Me The only products I dont generally use are the AG ones you mention as I feel they dont offer such a good end result or last nearly as long as the Dodo, Chemical Guys, Swissvax, Zymol stuff I choose to use in my work.
  9. Would you pay this price £2,100 http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/swis ... a-wax.aspx I like most Swissvax waxes but found my pot of Divine to be difficult to apply, difficult to buff off and so dont reach for it that often.Divine luckily for detailers is available in individual pots, not the twin pack above. It doesnt seem such good value as the Zymol Vintage (close in price) but you can get it refilled for the cost of sending it to and from America, unlike the Divine.
  10. Zymol Concours is pretty cheap when you work out cost per application/time it lasts. I prefer the Vintage wax, a lot easier to use.
  11. I knew that would happen! Must admit I haven't checked any sites since before Xmas, but I'll pop over to your website now Tim and grab one, thanks for the heads up. Ha ha, much appreciated Dan As mentioned above I reckon on getting 10-15 coats out of a sample pot if you're frugal which is damn good value. Compared to Zuffenhausen...well it'll go on and off easier, last just as long if not longer and you'll be wishing you'd bought it instead! TBH when I was 1st SW authorised I bought Zuff as I thought about all the Porsche's I'd be detailing but never got on with the wax because it wasn't easy to apply/buff off. End results nice, but hassle to use. Its actually one of the only SW waxes that is a PITA (apart from Divine, but thats so damn hard) Anyway, back on topic....CLAY BARS!!!!
  12. ^Not checked with me then Dan? I know I have 2 sample pots!
  13. I generally use either the Meguiars one or Dodo Juice Gentle grey. Autobrite-Direct have brought out a new green one that seems quite good too.
  14. ^I'm always looking! Its just trying to find one with a plain black interior that stumps me...oh and low'ish miles!

  16. I've been looking forward to doing this paint correction detail since the summer. Many thanks to Chris (the owner) for the booking and thanks to Baz at Auto Detox for agreeing to a days work. Day 1: Started with the engine being detailed with G101, various Envy brushes and high pressure water. Sadly in all the fun on day 2 I forgot to take pics of the engine after, it looked beautiful and matt black for those that are interested. Once the engine was clean I did the beautiful wheels with AS smart wheels and Envy brushes, and the new Vikan wheel brush which I've just taken stock of!! (like an EZ detail really). Snow foam then followed. Allowed to dwell, rinsed off then washed with the two bucket method, grit guards, Z sponge and Sour Power shampoo. Dried off to look like..... The car was moved indoors then to take some snaps of the defects. The car was then de-tarred on the lower panels and behind the wheels with TGB, and then clayed with Meguiars smooth surface clay bar. The interior was then given a full hoover, leather was cleansed with Dr Leathers non-solid leather cleaner (not the wipes) and agitated with a brush. Plastics and dash cleaned and conditioned. Glass cleaned with an alcohol based cleaner. Here endeth day 1! Day 2: Saw the arrival of myself and Baz from Auto-Detox at 08.00 and paint thickness measurements were taken. All good healthy levels all round. Typically around....... Time to protect the plastics and raised areas between panels etc. Polish choice we both pretty much both chose Scholl Concepts S3+ Gold edition, and I settled on the Scholl yellow spider pad. Baz chose the 3M orange compounding pad. We also used the Meguiars 4" cutting pad. Here is a pre-refinement 50/50 after 1 pass on the wing The bonnet was pretty tough and was subject to 3-4 passes with the polish/pad combo just to remove the defects and we knew it was going to be a long day! Progress was slow but a clear difference could be seen. Natural 50/50 In between sets we were wiping down with the lovely Eraser product, I'd not used this before but its VERY good Once the cutting stage was carried out the car was de-dusted, wiped down with Eraser again then the whole car was refined using Menzerna Final Finish, 3M blue waffle finishing pads, and Megs 4" finishing spot pads too. De-dusted again, de-taped, wiped down again and given a coat of a Vintage wax and left to cure. The stunning Hayward and Scott tail pipes were hit with Autosol, glass had an alcohol based cleaner, tyres had RD50. I'm sure something else happened too!!!! As you can imagine, the sun was long gone so only indoor "after" pics as we'd been on the car for 11 m/hrs just yesterday alone. The wax was buffed off and all that remained was to take the after pictures. All in all the car was subject to 30hrs of hands on work, and we hope you can tell the difference! Thanks for looking, and many thanks to Barry for making the work load a lot lighter and the day (all be it 11hrs!) go faster! Tim

  18. Do you have any paint left on your car Mart? Should be down to the gunmetal anytime now. Thats the nicest colour of primer anyways I agree, red oxide is a little '1980s' for me. Ah Stew, I like red oxide, reminds me of boiler rooms from my nuclear days...steam pipes and all that
  19. Hi Graham! What ever you do dont start using metal polish! In theory if they do have the lacquer thats a good thing, bare matal wheels are a total pain to look after. Right, the Meguiars Hot Rims should be fine (have a read of the bottle but I'm 99% sure thats what it'll say) Snow foam wont do any harm either, and the other product I know is fine for them is the Wolfs Chemicals De-Ironiser/brake duster product. Guaranteed safe on all wheel types, but as you already have the hot rims you dont need to replace anything yet
  20. Hi Immy, its the EZ detail Daytona brush, a little bit too flexible for my liking...I have been waiting for it to snap..it has thet feeling about it!
  21. Thanks Chris! That is a pic of the S17+ polish that had been worked on the bonnet but not buffed off yet.
  22. HI Stew, good to hear from you!Same camera as ever, my 10mp Sony DSC point and shoot. It always struggles indoors to take a good pic. I have considered a DSLR but I dont feel I'd take as many pics as I currently. The Sony fits in my pocket and is easy to fire a pic off with, but I know I really do need a better option for indoors. I did a Porsche Panamera in an underground car park, and whilst I could see the car well with my eyes, the camera pics are pretty poor!
