  1. Looks good Steve!, a quick bike update from me. The plans for the SV is that it will eventually become a dedicated track bike once I get my gixxer but for the time being plans are a total strip down and spruce up. Received my freshly painted lowers and seat cowl which I test fitted before she gets SORNED later on this month. Also fitted the blueflame which is VERY loud, but nice! R
  2. hey, no wax will prevent stone chips or scratches. You can get clear film that will stick to your bumper to stop it (http://www.venture-shield.co.uk/) but its a fortune and you wont be able to stick it on until your paint has fully hardened anyway. Anyhoo, as for shampoo I use dodo juice "Born to be mild" http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/dodo- ... d_491.html And for wax I would recommend, Collinite Super, it is a great all purpose wax and is very very durable http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/colli ... d_207.html Or for something a bit fruitier get yourself Dodo Juice Orange Crush http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/dodo- ... d_397.html Great wax and will smell great too. 3. Was that from new? No I bought it 2 years old and it had never had any repairs previous (that I am aware of anyway).
  4. I have had my M3 for over a year now and so far it has only cost my £180 for an ignition coil (which was only changed as a matter of caution anyway). They are good relaible cars but the cost if things go wrong will be higher.
  5. Would be a good idea to get a warranty even just to cover the slushbox as they can go wrong and are a VERY expensive fix. One of the lads I work with's X5 decided it wanted to go into reverse whilst he was doing 70 on the motorway...bad times for the transmission that. R
  6. Crap in the snow..pointless 4x4, look cool though. R
  7. IMO if you want your car to be quicker then buy a quicker car, you need to spend big bucks on the zed to make a noticeable difference. If you must then spend it on handling you will gain more on the twisties than you will in a straight line. R
  8. I have just put some Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's on the rear of my M3 and they are superb (£170 each from camskills). I had Falkens on the 350 and they were decent too. R
  9. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/3106612.htm There u go, reliable, good mileage, bit of poke, decent looking and most importantly 4WD, which will be a must in a few months. The 1series are USELESS in the snow. R

    New Jag!

Very nice, I'm liking that a lot, jags seems to look better model after model. R
  11. Thing is, yeah I don't track the car and I'm sure that if I did that the PS2's would outperform the VREDS but thats the point, I am driving on the road. I don't hang around either as my jesus handle can testify but for road driving the VREDS are more than sufficient. Infact come to think about it even if I did track the M3 I would be very reluctant to spunk away £1400 on tyres every time I wanted to do so. Point I am trying to get to is the the PS2's are TWICE..yes TWICE the price of the VREDS but why? Because they outperform them so well? Can't be!, so im my eyes Michelin know they own the market leading brand and they know the fan boys will always and only wear some incarnation of the PS2's so they put a bloody great mark-up on them. I'm fed up of being held ransom by companies like that. R
  12. Uses a satellite dish connection, either 1 or 2 port (for multi channel recording) R
  13. Just a quick update, done about 150 miles on the VREDS and they are superb, had a couple of DSC flickers when giving it the beans exiting a roundabout (about 60 miles) but nothing since then. Very quiet, smooth, sexy footprint (if you're into that sort of thing) and a nice ridge to protect the alloys. To sum up..PS2's twice the price of the VRED's, but twice to tyre? Definitely not, not even 5% better. Will definitely be getting these up front when the time comes. R

  15. I say go for it, they look mental!
  16. pretty much anyone but me being on the road
  17. Nice review mate-o, lovely motor. Tried the 335i when I was looking to change the zed and was really impressed. As said above though user forums are a nightmare, they are either far too big so you get lost in the crowd or in the M3 case full of e36/e46 "rude boys" who are out to pick a fight at any oppertunity. Guess thats why so many ex-owners hang around here R
  18. Sexxayyy! You wanna come do mine? R
  19. I changed my status from "garaged" to "residential parking area" and my premium went down. That was with bell.
  20. They're not tbh, the feel from the ps2s, the amount of grip, yeah, for me the VUS's on the M3 (albeit e46) weren't anything like as good. You will notice the difference in feel and grip even on the road. That's not to say the VUS's aren't good tyres, they're just nothing like as good as PS2's. Possibly but most of the e92 drivers rate the VUS as much as the PS2's, only time will tell though. R
  21. Why would you want less grip? Personally I wouldn't run cheapy tyres on an M3 anyway, but I'll spare srobrien my usual rant haha, well I was going to put PS2's on but pretty much EVERY review says that the vredsteins are equal if not better than the ps2's especially if you consider value for money. Exibit A: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268043 Exibit B: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Vrede ... ssanta.htm Hardly a budget tyre, just not paying rediculous markup that Michelin place on their rubber. Vredstein have been making tyres for around 60 years so i'm pretty sure they know what they are doing. Also the M3 is staying off the tack so IF for some crazy reason there is any difference in grip whatsover chances are I will never notice it as I wont be driving hard enough So looks like 35 should be ok. Cheers
  22. Hey tyre gurus I have a quick question regarding sizes. I am currently running 265/35/19 on my rear (PS2's) and am looking to replace them with Vredesteins but they only come in 275 width. Now I know these will fit my rims but question is: My car has been lowered so is pretty tight around the arches, so will the 275 push out further, if so would I be better getting a lower profile 30 rather than 35 or will this not be an issue. Here is a wee pic so you can see the space. They have bedded down a micron or two since then as well. Ta R
