Sweet, what did you think of it? (before you broke it that is )
heavy lump
it was a real good work horse actually, had an rvf 400 and it wasnt suited for driving to and from work so decided to get an r6... this I made into more or less a track bike so needed something else. Found the sv with low miles and thought that I'd use it for work, I did find it very boring to drive... I like to 'work' a bit on the bike so the race type bike suits me. The SV you plonked in whatever gear you wanted to and just pointed it in direction you wanted to go, massive low end torq so no need to gear up and down to keep 'her' in the perfect rev range. It was very heavy (handling) compared to any of the other bikes I'd owned, it took a good bit of amp of the battery to turn her too so found it painfull for short trips since the battery didnt get a chance to re-charge properly before it was time to stop. I did have a bike alarm on it and I think that didn't help things. (neither did the fog horns I installed to keep annoying car drivers at bay) All in it did do what it was intended to do. (but nothing more) I know people that love their SV.. I never gelled properly with it, well wear and watch the oil! Also get a fender going down further to protect the cylinder see below:
well wear as they state in bike terms!
Cool, it sounds like a pretty good starter bike then? Thats all im concerned about. At least if anything I will have massive arms after a few months riding it
