There wasn't a diesel LCR Though a remapped Diesel FR (in the region of 180-190BHP) Could apparantly just about keep up with a 210 LCR.

The LCR isn't as chavvy as some thankfully. But of course it's getting that way. You can pick them up for 5k nowdays. My LCR was mapped, and definately, between 2.5-4.5k rpm the leon has it. It accelerates with V8 force at that range. Top end is definately there for the 350 though. The comparison is akin to comparing a diesel to a petrol. A 160bhp diesel may well feel faster than a 200bhp petrol car when cruising around. But when you wind the petrol up through it's revs it will prove to be faster.

I'm still suprised the leon managed to pull on you if you're winding the v6 all the way to the top. What are you running on yours? EDIT: Traction as well. Good point. The LCR was a bust in the wet. You'd spin in 1st 2nd and 3rd. I'd quite often spin in 2nd in the bone dry as well. Was a PITA to set off quickly in that, or try and power out of a corner.

Yeah, forged internals. You'd need an exhaust and bobs to get to 280, and that's as much as the stock Cupra R turbo could take. 2-4k would get you a big turbo, and 330-350bhp. And that would go on any 1.8T, not just the cupra R. Quick bastards them. Comparitvely pants to look at, inside and out, and pants to drive though. But if you're crusing in your tree fiddy and you come up against a remapped one (or a golf ED30 and the like) Prepare to have a close fight on your hands. The mid range shove was actually a lot greater in the leon. When I test drove the 350 i thought the engine was bloody broken due to the lack of grunt. Still, no looking back. I LOVE the car!

That's one thing I miss about my leon. 210 to 260bhp. £300 and 30 minutes. Thank you very much sir! From reading, all I can look forward to is nigh on a grands worth of dicking about for a few HP. Woohoo! Goddam 350 chav waggan. Where's my goddam prestige MK3 golf!

In all my time of Zed ownership I haven't yet had a compliment about my car (EDIT: While filling up)* *I've filled up a total of 1 times.

I thought about the price thing. But it's no more expensive than a 3.0Z4 (the 260bhp one being similar in performance to a Z). RX8s being cheaper. Not to mention other cars which I haven't mentioned. Perhaps its the japaneseness of it. They like doing crazy mods over there. Some of it makes it over here. For half the price with half the fitment quality!

I was thinking Saxo VTR No, Saxo keywest thing, with the VTR body kit, but 1.4 engine. Yeeeahha BOIIII.

Just got my Zed. I've avereaged 21.8 so far. Mostly traffic driving. I saw it get to about 28 just after resetting it on the motorway.

I've just bought it, and while it's not in terrible shape or anything, it looks like the previous owner treated it solely to the supermarket special! So I was wondering if anyone knows of someone near southeast/North London area that could have a crack, and what sort of prices would be involved!? Thanks for your help. Loving the Z by the way!
