  1. I don't know if it's the Bridgies I've got on (which are almost worn as well) But in the non wet (but damp) conditions. They are shocking. I accelerate, thinking I'll have grip and the traction control kicks in all the time. Going round bends and applying a small amount of throttle will cause the back end to just slip out. It's an odd sensation. It's not progressive, and you don't even "feel it". It goes from feeling in control, in a relatively slow turn, to the back silently sliding out. It's scary! I drive like a nun on these damps roads. I'm sure it shouldn't be THIS bad!
  2. The normal MK5 will map to 230-240bhp if the figures are to be believed. The MK5 ED30 GTI (body coloured bumpers front and rear) is 230 stock and will remap (with no other mods) to near enough 300bhp. Same as the S3, TTS and MK2 Leon Cupra. They weigh about 1370kg without fatties in. As I said in the other thread about the hatchies. My leon had more low range thrust than the 350z due to the turbo and the shorter range gearing. So I assume the 2.0 T would be similar running similar power, so they could of also caught you off guard, unless you were already at 4krpm and ready to drop.. Still. I think they should do a hotter version of the zed. Something with 350-380 bhp would be nice, so it keeps the edge over anything but heavily modded hatches! But obviously, everyone here knows what car they'd rather be driving A drag on the A and M roads, is one thing. But when you're crusing and hitting the twisties, it's still just a golf/leon/skoda!!
  3. The supra has aged better than virtually any car on the planet IMO. BUTTT, it's still showing it's age. Especially at the front.
  4. There's a light behind the wheel isn't there? Looks good though!
  5. I dunno. Internet arguments are fun sometimes!
  6. Shouldn't be hard for his solicitor to throw out though. If he's been charged with not being in control. I'm not sure what sort of control you need to have when a car is stationary with the handbrake on. Even if the handbrake wasn't in, they can't prove otherwise. Idiot. More tax payers money either way.
  7. If someone has intentionally cut into a queue of traffic. E.g. Left lane straight on. Right lane turn right only. They drive up the right lane which is free from traffic to jump in left and go straight on, I'll always try and hold them up. It's Britain goddamit, and we LOVE TO QUEUE! If it's just merging traffic or junctions whatever, I'll always let people in/out. Oh, btw. I do sometimes do the cheeky thing above, but I know it's rude, so fully expect people to try and block me I try and steer clear of roadrage personally. Standard internet disclaimer. "I'm no pussyâ„¢" But I'll try and avoid roadrage whenever possible. As there are some absolute crazies on the road. I even saw a group of people get out of their car, walk to the other drivers window, and all start giving him jabs through the window! All because of some roadrage!!
  8. Is this some cunning spammer? Trying to advertise his own business on the sly by chucking in a few innocent posts first . BAN!
  9. Don't be a dick. Yes it's a thirsty sports car. But 99% of people that own 350z aren't billionaires, and some 350's don't exactly go for premium money anymore. So while it's not, and obviously shouldn't be a major priority, it's a perfectly valid concern.
  10. Depends which Z though doesn't it. The Focus weighs in at almost 1500, and if against an 296 or especially the HR there shouldn't be a lot in it. Even if the 280 it certainly wouldn't be a spanking. You need a fair amount of HP difference to be spanked properly. Goddam fat 350 though! If Z4's and TT's can weight 1400kgs why can't the 350! The bloody boxster is around 1350kg!
  11. Both on PC L4D 1 or 2 Command and conquer generals and command and conquer 3 Kanes Wrath. If anyone every wants a game, gimme a buzz! I recommend them all if you've never tried. L4D especially for the consoles spazzes! EDIT: I should probably expand - L4D = Left 4 Dead!
  12. I'm sorry. Don't hurt me. I do feel like having a 350 has added at least 3 inches to me weiner though. I can understand the need to get one. Especially if you're lacking...down there.
  13. Pretty fair comment that - I got my ass handed to me by a Focus RS the other day which was disappointing, but I was looking good while I got beat. As for the Seat's, dont underestimate - my bro had his first tear up the other day with a standard looking Ibiza, and there was pretty much nothing in it. His Evo 8 is running 383hp/391 lb/ft. A focus RS?? I would of thought they would be pretty close...Bugger. The Ibiza has the same 1.8T as the leon/TT/S3 etc. Albeit with smaller turbo. But a 2-3k on a turbo upgrade and you're looking at 320-350bhp. I wish a turbo was as reliable and cheap on the 350

    GUTTED

Thing is, you're almost instructed to not admit fault to anything when it comes to insurance. No wonder our premiums are so high! People that ding your car with their door are the FKIN worst! Sometimes they are completely oblivious to what they have done, or just don't give a crap if they do. Just because your car is a crap heap, or you don't care, doesn't mean the owner of the other car feels the same! I always park miles away from anyone else when I can. Invariably, when I can't I come back to find a bloody door dent Sorry
  15. What the hell. Are you mental? 9k in 3 years on insurance alone? Why would you do that? And boasting about being on "almost 30k" is nothing to boast about. The only reason you can apparently afford all these cars is because you live at home. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that at your age mind. But hardly something you can call other people poor about because you have more disposable income. You're mental though. Ditch the idea. Ditch the golf, buy and insure a cheap POS, then buy yourself a used 370z in a couple of years with all the money you wont have wasted on nothing. People also called you a troll, because you have a project car, don't know cars, completely **** up the value of a used Z, go to college, have a full time job, and live at 5 different addresses, and your posts are difficult to read! Or something.
  16. What do you do? Stick it in a spray bottle and squirt??
  17. And post the explanations here please!
  18. I am serious. Yet you follow with "mid range is where the turbo comes alive" Which is just what I said. Also about the running out of puff too The 20V 1.8T engine is a corker, and tunes up great. The leon weighs around 1350kgs. Which is 200 or so less than the facelift ones. Work out the power to weight ratio on that. When you factor in a facelift seems to dyno around 290 (is that correct? I've sure I've seen some 276's dyno circa 260!) the power to weight might actually be in the leons favour. The 350 just isn't that fast by all accounts. The HR has over 20-25whp over the older ones though, so that seems to make the difference however. Don't beleive a hot hatch can spank a 350? Just youtube it. There's loads of vids on there! Any midsize hatch with around 250bhp is going to give a seriously hard time. They don't even beat civic type R's by that much It's true, the leon is modded. So it's not strictly fair. But the bottom line is, it cost me £400 to tune, 300 for the map and 80 for a uprated recirc valve for the turbo. That took me from 210 to 260. You can spend a grand on the 350 and potentially get zero, or even negative gains. Save for a slightly better throttle response. If you're lucky you might get 10/20 with even more money chucked at it. This has all been documented in this fair forum, and the US one as well... I just suck it up though. You can't have everything. A hot hatch is a shopping trolley with a sports car engine. It's not surprising they shift in a straight line. But it's no sports car, and never will be. Which is why I still love the 350 way more than the leon. Unfortunately, if you want a SPORTS CAR that can whip hot hatches into creamy dust, I'm afraid you're going to have to look for cars way wayyy higher up the price bracket.
  19. I came from a Leon Cupra R - With a stage 1 remap. So around 260bhp When I took the Z for a test I had a bit of a shock. I planted my foot at about 2.5k revs and thought it was broken! The Z doesn't have anywhere near the low down pull of the leon. But that's the nature of the turbo. It's not to say the leon was faster. I'd probably say they were pretty similar if you'd chuck them side by side in a rolling drag race. But you don't get the same sort of pull from the engine until you're well into 4k revs. However, the zed keeps on trucking until 6.3krpm before power starts to trail off a bit. The leon would trail noticeably by 5.5k. You could rev it to 6, but there was little point, other than when changing up, you'd drop it back higher into the powerband. Comparing the leon to the 350 I think is like comparing the 350 to the S2000, but with the roles reversed. Of course, mid range pull was literally the only thing it has on the 350. Noise, traction, handling, looks, everything else is leagues ahead. Oh, maybe not the boot space
  20. What make/type are the LEDs out of interest?
  21. When I get bored of the radio I put on: Raszzssdt...Chttk.tzzk.zcjkst....chzzt.rassncztt... ...In th....azczzchsdfrshtZZZZCHHPPSSTTTT....silence... Or if I'm in someone else's car which doesn't have a Bose CD player. Rasmus - In the shadows and Prodigy smack my bitch up work wonders!
  22. Well. I just have to say well done again Husky babes. It's an epic job, and looks amazing. Seems way way to much work though!
  23. Oh, with all the snow I've heard the traction control come on enough times. That's a noise, not a clunking rattle Hmm. Not sure know. I'm trying to imagine in my head what the sound in the video dcash posted would sound like, sped up bit, and amplified through the car...It could possibly be that. The car has done 40k, so it's possible it's already had a clutch change on the cheap. What are the implications of leaving as is, assuming the clutch is ok, and the DMF is buggered?
