Thanks 3FIDDYZ for the info... It appears that andid had probs with the haltech after all??? So what price would i be talking about? It looks like haltech could be anything from £1000 bto £1400ish??? do you know who would do the tuning in the UK???
-
FI will be on the plans eventually (end of next year if all ok) and i will be needing the haltech then???
-
As most of you know i have got a 309 roadster....with a nismo exhaust and nismo dual intakes.... But i need 20-30bhp (could do with 100bhp but i wont go FI yet as i may be getting a GTR from next year)... So the plan is to get the best after market ecu....which i think is the haltech platinum... And i would appreciate your help on where to buy it from, how much and where to go in england to have it fitted... any other mod you guys think would help with performance??? mods that cost lets say 500quid and give 2bhp should be out of the question unless they can make the torque curve fatter than an old greek lady's ass!!!!

I have got dixcel on now with matching pads and titanium shims front/ stock shims rear. plus front cusco lines and motul 660. The whole set up is very nice on the road, nicer than the DBA 4000 series i had before. But more info when i finish with my 2 track days 2nd and 28th of nov. between ebc turbo grooves and DBA 4000 i would say that the first were a bit better on the road but faded a bit quicker on the track...plus they looked quite

+1 turbogroove wont last long...and DBA wont either...take it easy during track days....the first ones lasted 2 track days before they get warped and the second ones a full track day and 4 nurburgring laps before they get cracked...then again it could be me whos a bit aggressive on the track.... The EBC ones were defo better on the road. Had them with DS2500 pads. They deffo last longer when on the right way around though, dont they, well DBAs do anyway Absolutely!!!

am i the only one who laughed at the stupidity of that No I did too!! Is that a civic money saving idea Jerry? One thing on the discs (that is happening to me at the moment) is that the disc will start to get a little rough like sandpaper and this (I am told) will start to degredate the pads and wear them away quicker... Someone correct that if I am wrong!! Just looking around now to find the best deal on a set of pads and discs... May just replace the front pads and discs for now... I think he was talking about planning them (or planing them...pls forgive the migrant)...when they get overheated and the steering starts juddering... that removes the lip as well but i have never tried it and cant comment... I have seen front disks on a seat toledo 1.6 that had 3mm lip each side which is minus 6mm thickness and they were just fine... I'd rather just play it safe and buy new discs - not much else on the car to help you stop except the crumple zone +1 Its tyres, brakes, suspension.... You have got to be alive to be quick!!!

Will it not void the warranty tho??? I suppose with a haltech you can take it out for a visit to the stealers....

Gorgeous... But i would rather have a 458 Italia for 100k less instead...

Hi and It would be good to know how much you have got to spend...minus a couple of grand for insurance that is! -
Petition signed...and if things get any worse i am off to greece again....
-
I think the outcome was a messed up thread as usual and the tip of the day a hole in the back box!!!

Haha not chavvy at all m8!!! Its a 3.5l V6 not a 1.0 4cyl corsa you know....
-
I found out the hard way!
-
Really sorry to hear m8...hope you get it sorted soon...dont forget that its not as bad as it looks sometimes...and keep us posted... btw i dont think the coppers will bother much and i am pretty sure they wont have a look at the CCTV unless there is suspicion of a crime...may the fellow Zedders correct me but i was told smth like this by the CCTV chief whatever he was when i lived in Weymouth-dorset...

Nismo exhaust and dual intakes here..every time i reset the ecu it feels like its going a bit nicer but after a couple of weeks it feels slower?? I think it all changes when the CEL light comes on or slightly before that... Does a reset delete the ECU adaptation to the mods???
-
They only said every 9000miles to me when i bought my 08. Didnt mention anything about 12 months...interesting...although it doesnt really affect me as its got 23000+ miles already... Didnt know anything about the recalls either...never had any issues with the alarm and when i asked them about the clutch bearing and rear axle clicking they said all these were sorted on the 08 models...then again i dont trust nissan hull...i could do with some feedback! The clutch slave cylinder did fail early tho and they replaced it on warranty.

I think that applies to the RE040s, my RE050's are good in the wet and the dry, just get lots of road noise on poor surfaces The 040s were very good in the dry and excellent for dry track days but dangerous in the wet!!! In fact i am wondering why nissan was selling the Z in the wet UK with 040s on!!! I went through 3 full sets of ps2s after the 040s but on 40prof all over. I had no issues whatsoever with the ESP and i mean no probs at all!! Superb tyres on cornering, braking and wet, quite good on acceleration. Very soft tyres tho which means that 2 average dry track days were all they could handle....plus i lost the crispness of the steering that i had with the stock 040s despite the fact that i went for 40prof and not 45. The only reason i went from 45 to 40 was the huge price difference. Just got some new 050As all over. I have done about 150 miles so far. Now i had the 050As on 45 prof fitted the steering is fantastic again! Its a harder tyre with much harder sidewall. They are a bit better on acceleration than the ps2s. worse on braking and slightly worse on cornering. However, i will be able to have a good idea after my 2 track days in november and once i do a few more miles and scrub them in properly. Road noise is better now i would say but then again i dont think i should be comparing 40 to 45 prof tyres. Price wise the 050As 45 prof were a bit more expensive but he gave them to me at the same price as the ps2s. £726. Still cheaper than the 45prof ps2s. One last thing...i am using nitrogen 35psi all over and i would swear that for some reason the 050As seem somehow more inflated than the ps2s.... Till now and after having 040s, ps2s and 050s i can say that you cant beat the ps2s for safety and overall grip. They are so bloody expensive tho especially the 45s... If anybody can compare the ps2s with other brands i would love to hear. In any case i hope this helps.

Prolly tyres still covered in release agent, once that's scrubbed off, i.e. a few miles of wear, you should be getting better grip. I know m8 cheers. ESP off first thing and a few roundabouts... back ones ok....shame i v got to wait for the front ones... Wait to scrub in or wait for delivery? Scrub in m8...
