  1. I didn't notice any difference, but once I've got the Berks and plenum spacer fitted I'll be getting a remap, should see an improvement then
  2. The Stillen is spot on, it doesn't make the scorpion much louder really.
  3. I'm 32, the scorpion was fitted to the car when I got it 2 1/2 years ago, I was sold on the car mostly by the sound it made when giving it beans! I do a lot of motorway miles so its nice to have an exhaust that's not too loud when cruising. Since then I have fitted a Stillen Y-pipe, which made it a little bit noisier, and I have Berk HFC's to go on as soon as I get back to the UK

    erratic heater?

Thinking about it now, i actually replaced both the control dials and the white box that they plug in to. I did them both at the same time cos i was in a rush, so not sure which was the cause of the problem. Might be a similar issue for the OP ?
  5. I got told my car was 'sick' and would I swap it for his mobile phone? one guy at a petrol station said "that's a sweet car, is it the R350?" never had a bad comment yet

    erratic heater?

mine did the same with the fan speed, I replaced the controls and it works ok now.
  7. Probably not a great thing to do repeatedly, I suppose it could wear the clutch and rock the engine/gearbox on its mountings a bit? You can adjust the handbrake http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=38572&p=576375&hilit=adjusting+handbrake#p576375 but it will probably still be a bit crap! mine has been adjusted because it wouldn't hold on hills, but still the car moves a little once the handbrake is applied. I only put it in gear when parked on a slope.
  8. I've been told that mine arrived before 9:30 this morning I won't get home to have a look at them til tomorrow though :-(
  9. I think it uses less or the same amount of fuel as if the engine is idling, because the throttle is 'shut' and you're trying to slow to idling speed? although the throttle may not be totally closed? I thought you need a little bit of fuel to help lubricate the pistons? I think there's an engine I've heard of that can 'shut down' half the cylinders if you're driving economically?
  10. ok mate you've convinced me 1 Gman '370z' 2 Tarmac '350z' 3 MacW '350z' 4 TimFF '350z' 5 mc '350z' I can see a remap looming, best get some more O/T in!
  11. I think this is my best option, seeing as I don't want de-cats. I presume these pass the MOT and no CEL on?
  12. Just after 7am by Hilden rd, I flashed and you waved back
  13. He's just trying to be flash... didn't even give them 14lb hammers!
  14. I dislike the things... I hate the way they shout instructions at you like you're deaf and retarded. they're ok if you just nip in for a couple of things and the queues at the tills are huge. Just don't buy a birthday card because its too light to register on the scales!
  15. I do the carpet on the wall too, and pull over to the left as far as possible. I got someone to watch me in the first time, and I put a brick on the floor where the front wheel needs to stop (and marked it on the concrete just incase I accidentally move it out the way). Probably only got about 4 inches spare on the wing mirrors going in, but its easy to get used to.
  16. Thanks for all the advice, put a new plug on and the washer worked fine in a different socket I'm still not quite sure why this caused the machine to 'click', or why it worked ok for a while after the first time it clicked? At least I can reassure the gf it wasn't the washer that caused the melting, and will get the other hidden sockets checked out.
  17. I'm starting to think the washer is OK, its just the socket that's causing the problem, as only the plug got warm, not the cable. Its a moulded plug too. I don't think she's ever changed the fuse from new, but I'll get a 10A fuse when its fixed Her house is rented so she'll have to get the socket sorted by the landlord I think. If it was my house I'd put a new plug on the cable and try the machine in another socket, and keep an eye on it. thanks for the advice guys,
  18. its 13 Amp fuse, I'd have thought that is correct for washer dryer? 1850W
  19. Guess there may be an electrician or two on here who can give a little bit of advice? Yesterday the girlfriend's washer dryer stopped part way through the cycle, making a clicking noise (which I found to be the pressure switch). After switching the machine off and pulling it away from the wall to have a look, I found that the plug was hot and had started to melt around the neutral pin, and was starting to melt the socket. I'm guessing that it was some sort of poor contact between the plug and socket causing local heating, as the cable to the machine wasnt hot. Is this just a cheapo socket, or the fact the plug never gets removed and moisture could have caused corrosion inside? The washer is under warranty so I don't just want to fit a new plug incase the washer is actually faulty. cheers for any help with this Mike
  20. I've had to do it twice now, as the first LEDs I put in were very bright, but disintegrated after a few months and I dropped one of the old ones when getting it out and it disappeared under the headlight somewhere, not sure where it went but I'm glad it wasn't inside! Wheels look great btw will the powedercoating be more hard-wearing than just painted?
  21. It might skin your knuckles a bit but you can do it without removing the splash guard or the bolts on the bottom of the bumper, you just pull the plastic back enough to get your hand in.
  22. I never use pay at pump in the UK because I don't trust the machine to give me a VAT receipt. They even took it away from my local Shell garage when they replaced the pumps. Was a pain in Sweden filling up the hire car though, as lot of petrol stations aren't manned. Oddly although there was a limit on how much fuel could be put in, you could use your card twice
  23. Exactly what I thought! Some very nice motors there
