you mean the upper class that now get to pay 50% income tax and lose 40% of tha value of their homes in inheritance tax? Labour oversee the fsa and banking regulators, so they very much are to blame. They allowed 110% mortgages, and they laughed all the way to the bank given the vat they were raking in, a blind man on a galloping horse could compare the vat income to GDP and see this crisis coming a mile away, but apparently Gordon and alistair saved us all. What crock, history repeats itself. Labour wreck the finances and the Tories have to fix it. Introducing unpopular measures for just long enough for people to forget how/who got us into the mess and labour get in again. It's not the first time either. Interest rates in the 80s were a direct result of labours incompetence in the 70s but peole forget that bit. Income tax at 98% due to out if control spending by labour in the sixties, etc etc... The country needs jobs to be created, yet the Tories are the only ones stating that the ni rise should be stopped. Labours plan is to tax our way out of the hole. That simply won't work as businesses will not create as many jobs if the ni rise goes ahead, less jobs, less disposeable income and more benefits. But it appears Gordon and alistair are blind to this.

My 350z is rubbish - advice on getting my own back
Chesterfield replied to pubtricks's topic in 350Z General
Without wishing to derail the thread, I bought another marque which cost a lot more than the z, and I had no problem in admitting I wish I hadn't. If a car is crap, it's crap wheter I own one of not. However, it's generally not the car or it's faults that sour the experience, but the way the manufacturer or dealer takes care of you when things go wrong. In my case, my car had relatively minor problems, paintwork aside, but the attitude from the dealer and jaguar ensured I shall never, ever purchase one of their cars again. You've suffered some reasonably common faults with your car, and I can't help but think a better dealership response coupled with the community spirit here would have made the experience so much more tollerable. Now you've found us, perhaps we can work on your zed making you smile again -
Ordered mine on 14th April and they arrived today You are in for a wait

Hi and welcome in my experience the yellow doesnt chip as easily as some other colours, though it could just be the particular cars I had (had a blue roadster before the yellow). At least with the yellow, the chips dont stand out as much given the white undercoat. The issue is that the yellow can be a real pain for a bodyshop to match, and I havent used a repair stick/paint with it, but given the pearl fleck in it, I wouldnt think it was an easy job You got the best colour anyway (Ill put my flame suit on now! )

The instructions arent the clearest affair with the included booklet - but I did figure out they needed charging first, so they are currently sat charging before I have a play later
-
If it helps - I didn't know it did that Does that instill you with any confidence that the mobile version of the site will work well?

The garage would request the waranty booklet so they know the company the warranty is with, the warranty/policy number, expiry dates etc etc. They wont want the warranty book in order to read the T's & C's and advise the customer of them. When signing for a warranty, if it is a term of that warranty that states the vehicle must not be driven after reporting a claim, then I assume that will be stated within the T's & C's of the contract. If the owners strays from those T's & C's, you cant blame someone else for not reminding you of them, surely?

When did you do the strip down, and when was that authorised? If there was only one call from CS to Scotsure, they couldnt have authorised the strip down and the repair itself all in one could they? I thought the strip down had to be done before they could authorise the repair? I cant see how Scotsure records can only have one item of contact between CS and themselves listed, yet have given authority for the strip down and repair?
-
Therefor if John was told the truth by Scotsure that they record all calls, there should be no issue in them proving that authority was given? That would clear things up I suppose? Also if authority was given only to remove and inspect the gearbox, this does not constitute acceptance of the claim does it? Only the strip down, and the strip down would have been at the expense of John - going by his most recent discussions with Scotsure would they have approved the claim rather than the strip down. If not, then John would have been out of pocket for the strip down on top of what he already has been wouldnt he? Im amazed that there is no written confirmation sent to a garage to authorise repair work

My 350z is rubbish - advice on getting my own back

Sounds like your dealer has a lot to answer for in regards to your ill feeling toward the brand, not helped with the backtracking you speak of at customer services. Not too disimilar to my experience with another manufacturer. The clutch and flywheel going at 50k is not a great surprise, many change around the 25-35k mile point, surely it must have been shoing signs of wear at 50K 4CD players changed is not unusual, Ill guess it was the CD skipping problem - an inherent flaw with the bose. The two sets of wheels - did you have to buy them or were they changed under warranty? In regard to geting your experience out to millions, posting here will have helped given our traffic. -
I doubt any garage would carry out work on a vehicle without written confirmation of the manufacturer covering this under warranty, or in the case of extended warranties the Warranty company providing this written confirmation that authoristaion has been given. On the reverse side of this how can Scotsure now deny your warranty claim based on your "abuse" of the vehicle after confirmation authorisation was given, which has not been proven. The Warranty company are not willing to pay for over £3k worth of repairs, and their defense is that they already gave permission in a phone call which only their systems seem to have logged - how very convenient. If Scotsure cannot provide proof either in writing or in recorded form that the authority was given, then I fail to see how they can reject your claim. Do they record all calls? If so this would certainly clear things up.

Just to advise, the team do not "favour" any traders. However as many of the team here have had work done on their cars by various traders they will also have an opinion just as every other consumer. I found ESR to be very good (servicing and a couple of mods), I found Zmanalex to be good (LED lights), I have also found a body shop near me to be good (body kit) and I found a small firm making locking wheel nut removers to be good too - Ive posted positively about each of these and will do so again on any thread that jogs my memory about them. If I have cause to use the other traders on board the forum and receive good service I will be sure to make positive comments about them too. Please do not mistake a team members praise for an individual trader as anything more than a personal recommendation, and not in any way a biassed opinion from the team.

Given that Scotsure previously told you that the only two items of correspondence on your claim were in Novemer when you called regarding the warranty booklet, and in February when CS callthed them, it would seem strange that today they tell you CS called for the first time - even though two days ago CS wa made aware that you have resolved the matter privately. Given the above discrepancies in Scotsures records, it would seem somewhat strange to then use their record as a basis for discounting what CS has told you. I would agre wit the above that it appears there has been a great breakdown in communications here, but I think you blaming CS for the "loss" or out of pocket expenses of £3k+ when it was your decision to take the work private without first notifying CS is possibly unreasonable. I am not supporting or negating either party here, but looking at the posts as is. I agree you should have an answer as to what was happening during the time you were not in contact with CS, however you state that authority was given in February, yet they also state that the first call from CS was made to Scotsure today - given that, can you 100% believe that they did provide that authority? It seems strange to conclude the warranty company records are highly questionable, yet use those same records as a basis for complaint.

Moderators (everyone please read this)
Chesterfield replied to chrisjones6699's topic in Site Suggestions & Feedback
Thanks for all the kind words folks I know you cant please all of the people all of the time, but that shouldnt (and doesn't) stop us from trying We sometimes make mistakes, and have often taken moderating decisions or forum organising decisions that havent been well received, but we do try to listen to all the feedback and improve the way we run the club/forum. When we see so much positive feedback though, it makes the more difficult and stressful times fade away. Thanks again for the kind words -
Hi Dave. Already said what I can when you first made this decision some time ago in the team area. Really sorry the day has come sooner than expected. I do hope you now get to enjoy the car free from the added stresses of running the club you are part of. You will be sadly missed from the team my friend Chris.

The team are still talking to the parties involved to see if a re-opening is needed. Have just logged on and catching up with this, so dont really know any more just yet. If Mitz wishes to add to the thread then he will certainly be able to, indeed it is currently locked while we await this, so that Mitz can reply to the points raised if he wishes to before the thread becomes convoluted and a response is so far into the thread that future readers would not see a resolution before becoming bored with reading.

A WARNING ABOUT WARRANTIES, CLAIM GONE WRONG!
Chesterfield replied to Husky's topic in Warranty Issues
Very honourable of you Hopefully all can be sorted out with John. I personally think that the warranty company is the instigator of the bad experience given Johns description of the delays at their end. I can also only imagine that warranty work may not prove that popular with garages when assessors will be limiting earnings and profit margins perhaps. Still good of you to sort it out with John so there are no ill feelings going forward. Im sure a PM would be appreciated. -
That still means those who earn more pay a higher percentage of their total income in tax. Just like the current, and totally unfair system. Just because someone earns more, why should they pay a higher percentage? The common argument is "because they can afford it". How's about we extend that to shops... "ah I see you earn 100k per year sir, that loaf of bread will be £7.99 please" "hang on, the person in front bought the same loaf for only £1.50" "yes sir, but they only earn £20k per year, so you can afford to pay more than them for the same loaf, £7.99 please sir" Does that seem a fair way to run things? It's exactly how the tax system works.
