  1. It will be interesting to see what it does to the residual values of the "older" model though. A £10k lift for that is a bit steep though.
  2. It appears that in keeping with Nissan - the revisions of cars come pretty quickly, I'm probably a little slow on the uptake here and apologies if its a repost, but the MY11 GTR and its changes are announced here: http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/NEWS/20 ... -01-e.html They go on sale in Japan in November - dont know when they will make it to the UK. Not quite as bad as the release of the MY06 convertible just a few months after the MY05 convertible in the UK, but the GTR being updated now has only left the UK cars with a two year lifespan hasnt it?
  3. Donated too Very sorry to hear of your diagnosis and all to pleased to donate to such a worthy cause.
  4. Yep there are three club members from a total of 12 finalists, thats some good going I reckon As posted before - Im voting for each one
  5. With 25% of the finalists coming from this club I think we are already winners. Ill be voting for all three of our guys as I have access to several PC's in different locations.
  6. Horses for courses. Without wishing to portray myself as a fat Gok Wan, it also depends on the person and their wrists. My watch doesnt look that OTT on my wrist in my opinion as I have quite large wrists, but on my brothers it most certainly does - so his watch is different.
  7. Whats that one up the top left Tim? Im looks like mine but with white faces for the inset dials, is it the Breitling Bently 6.75? Looks like this on the back:
  8. Excellent Dan. The 911 certainly seemed the best of the bunch as far as driver position and general feel of the car when I sat in them. I sadly didnt get one out on a test drive, but Im sure it will put just as bigger grin on your face as the Z did/does
  9. Most use fully synthetic 5w-30 or 5w-40. As above 5lt in that kind of mileage is very high, the 296bhp engines were renowned as the oil drinkers, but even then not to that level. Abbey will certainly be able to help with the map, and maybe also with the oil problem. If I understood correctly, the oil drinking problem on the 06 engines can also be cured by a swap of the piston rings (not a small job, but if its a real issue, as seems to be the case here it may be worth considering). You may also wish to check your seals around the sump and the oil filter for leaks, as that seems an awful lot of oil to simply burn off.
  10. Love those shots of yours Mike, I really must sort out getting some of mine done that aren't either on the drive or in a layby at Wales
  11. I was looking at a Tag when we went shopping on the Saturday at Wales, but didnt bother in the end - they still look quite nice though. I have also looked at Movado too, but again not bothered. Most of my watches have a blue face - I have a few "cheap" watches which are Fossil. I get them in America as they are about half the price or less than the same watches in the UK. Most are waterproof, and at I think the most expensive being about £50 and the cheapest maybe £30, I dont care if I scratch them - yet they still look different and stylish. What I dont like is that the womens versions of the "expensive" watches are almost always more expensive than the gents versions, yet are about half the size. Very annoying.

  13. Call me daft, but why would a magazine which makes its income from car enthusiasts at shows, write negatively about the cars at the very shows it tries to gain customers from. I reckon a business advisor has a possible perfect customer lined up there.
  14. Only managed two career races so far, but got a pole and 2nd in qualifying and a win from both
  15. Good to see the safety equipment standing up so well, but exactly how do you manage to get off the track, to the tyre wall through a fence over a spectator area (luckily none around) and over yet another fence without SERIOUSLY under estimating your entry speed in the corner? You can see by the way he is catching others in the corner at aproximately warp factor 9 that he has over cooked that by a MAHHOOSIVE margin. Did the brakes fail?
  16. Be positive - theres the show and shine indoors and some covered seating area near the strip too - it'll be a blast
  17. I think people should only attend if they are close friends of Ian or his passenger friend, or if asked to attend by the family. I may suggest that any attending whom are close friends of Ian or the family, make the effort NOT to do so in their Z. Although we here know Ian best for his passion for the Z, the car could possibly be a sad reminder to the families concerned of the circumstances of why a funeral is now taking place. Just something to bear in mind.
  18. There is no "official" time that clubs are to enter by. Gates open at 7am for clubs and 8am for general public. Though there are no entry deadlines. If we aim to enter at around 8.30 I believe that would be ok. A suggested meeting point (for 8:15am) is the Premiere in about 10-15 minutes away: Premiere Inn Wellingborough London Road Wellingborough Northamptonshire NN8 2DP If anyone else can suggest a more convenient meet point please feel free. If we can get there for 8:15 to hand out tickets and set off to the show that would be great. If attendees could PM me their mobile number I can get in touch if we are missing anyone before setting off to the show.
  19. Yup - its the one we use in quite a few of the "show advertisement" signatures
  20. Right - the three extra car passes will be left at the gate for us as the tickets were all posted out yesterday. Unfortunately the spaces have already been allocated so we will have to squeeze the extra cars on our pitch as best we can. From prior experience we may be able to "borrow" some space from next door if we ask nicely and they have an oversized plot, though if not the plots can sometimes be generous anyway so we should be ok
  21. I have the list that tickets were bought for as: 1. Jak +1 2. Yokomo 3. Ebized 4. Roo +1 5. MadMarky 6. Mitch 7. Chesterfield 8. Shire +1 9. Nismo'd 10. Tay +1 11. Nismo'd +1 Thats 16 tickets in all. The list of people who have expressed an interest to attend after the tickets were bought are: iain10101 Willz350Z Rob Hughes Unfortunately these people have missed the chance for the tickets discounted by £3. So will have to buy on the gate at £15 each on the Sunday. I have asked the organisers if they can arrange for 3 extra car passes to be sent to me. Everyone who has pre-ordered tickets can collect them from myself prior to entry and are £12 each. I would suggest that we meet prior to the entry to the show on Sunday, I am awaiting a time from the organisers and we can arrange the meet up time from there.
  22. Such sad news to read. I would like to pass my condolences to both families and wish them the strength to cope at this very difficult time. I was looking forward to meeting with people including Ian at the Japshow Finale in October. Such a pleasant chap who had shown great dedication to the club in such a short time, attending several meets and truly enjoying his car with new found friends. He will be sadly missed by many who knew him here and his family can take solace in knowing the few who had the pleasure in meeting him as part of this club would give testemant to the great chap he was. I have taken the liberty of removing Ians contact details from the forum and would ask that if there is a close friend of Ian and his family present here that he/she converse with the family if possible and if they would be willing to receive a gesture of our condolences from the club, advise a member of the team where this should be sent. Regards, Chris.
  23. People can pay me on the day for the tickets thats fine. Please make sure your name is on the register for the event.
  24. Of course - everyone welcome - tickets are £12 each if pre-prdered via the club (get your name on the register and the tickets will be secured tomorrow) Register can be found by clicking HERE
