There is a lot of talk on some f1 forums regarding the last few laps. Many saying Lewis's using the run off before giving kimi back the place (barely) gave him an unfair advantage. Others saying all fair in love and war. There are some Kimi fans on one forum that are so far up Kimis/Ferraris arse, its difficult to see where kimi finishes and the fans start. They are demanding a penalty for hamilton - though of course when Ferrari receive no penalty for some of the most dangerous antics in the pit lane in Hungary, its all fine. Im sure th FIA will come up with some punishment for Hamilton/Mclaren to try and help Ferrari back to the top.

Hi Jotun (and welcome by the way!). If you have a look at the following thread, it will give you an idea of the day out... http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13805 The exact times will be posted by Dave (Beavis) once confirmed, and friends in passenger setas are more than welcome. Many choose to make a weekend of it having a day round Chester on the Saturday, perhaps with a meal out on the Friday and Saturday nights, with a great days driving on the Sunday. Oh and yes, the looks the convoy gets are fun. Ive not seen anyone walk into a lamp post yet, but its just a matter of time.

It appears I may have made what could be called "A bit of a **** up". I somehow got it into my head that Zedfest was this weekend, not 12-14th. The weekend of the 12-14th, I am actually at a wedding - its on the Saturday, and will be stopping overnight not returning home until probably about midday on Sunday - so I will try and get over afterward and meet you all there instead of join a convoy from B&Q - sorry guys
-
go past pc world, get to the roundabout at the end and B&Q is facing you

Ive been reading reviews about the show from various places - bit of a mixed bag really. The main issues seem to be centered around a cramped nature of plots (some reports of a few lubs not having enough room for the people they had booked for). Having not attended this year, I was looking to see exactly what the reviews were before making plans to go next time. If the cars are not given enough space for people (some with bags and cameras etc or the odd pram) to wander through the stands safely without danger of scratching or bumping into the cars, then its not for me. And probably not for a lot of people who take pride in their car. There are many positive reviews though (some saying its the best yet), and Im certain the good weather helped too - with no solid pathways I dont know what th reviews would have been like if it had been wet/muddy underfoot. Ill continue to read reviews and look at the photos before planning to go next year. -
Yup - thats the one 10am on the sunday sounds ok to me - what about anyone attending on the Saturday - meet at the venue?

Crikey!! Id totally forgotten about this with work as it is at the moment. Will be great to have a good weekend - will aim for both days, though perhaps no camping. Ill meet at B&Q if people want - what time?

Speed Camera Vans / Non-Standard Plates WARNING
Chesterfield replied to PaulR's topic in 350Z General
They "can" take the number off you, but dont have to. I doubt they would to be honest. Why bite the hand that feeds afterall? Quite honestly the way that targets and financial incentives have caused the police to switch from crime prevention/detection to revenue generation is absolutely sickening in this country. The plate is hardly illegible, the vehicle is hardly some drab "blends into the crowd" type box, and you have hurt nobody. Yet you will undoubtedly get a fine for it. What a great way of building an improving relations between the police forces and the general public. Ive been done twice for various plates on cars - what a pointless and pathetic use of the police service. Fair enough if the plate is some daft italic scrawl, but being prosecuted for the above is just a complete joke. Lets not bother dealing with the crime issues that affect our country, the issues causing teeneagers to be stabbed to death on our streets, lets leave the drug pushers to flood our streets with crack and god knows what. Lets concentrate on stamping out these slightly mis spaced number plates and serving £30 notices to honest and decent citizens. Absolute joke - and I defy anyone to argue that prosecuting someone like the above case, is in the overall best interests of our community. -
Bugatti Veyron being delivered in Aberdeen - credit crunch?

Takes some keeping up with the Jones' on that estate I see. Hmm - how to top the neighbours Enzo..... Ahhh - I know... Must be a great deal of fun to have the funds available to play those games.. I dont think Id like the stress that comes with the job which pays for that little lot though. -
So while they perform all this investigation work, you get to drive round in a courtesy car and not the one you paid close to Thirty grand for? I would reject that car full stop. Removing the gearbox and stripping the entire transmission less than 3 days into ownership is unacceptable. Push as hard as possible for a new box??? WTF? - things make a noise like that when there are parts wearing against one another - which means the box will have premature wear even if they figure the problem and put it back together; which could lead you to needing a new box sooner rather than later - sods law dictates this will be after 3 years and 1 day. leaving you with a big bill. I think it would be more prudent to wait a little while longer to get a new car than wait a shorter period to get this one back - would you ever feel confident that the box wont break alltogether when you least want it to?

Ive been busy of late and still up to my neck in work at the moment, but thought I'd post on this one.. There really is no point in going over this ground again. There are lengthy posts on here from a long time ago detailing what happened, or at least from our perspective. I dont think this thread is the correct place to be having these conversations, as it detracts from the efforts people like Smoky have attempted to make. It is great to see people on both forums making efforts to unite as many Z owners as possible in the spirit of enjoying the car/s. If people want to chat about the historic events which resulted in two separate forums/clubs, then feel free to do so in person or PM - as Im sure neither site/club will benefit from having this ground raked over time and time again.

Id possibly have a punt on something like that if I had the space, with the housing market at present we have stopped looking for somewhere to move to with a lot more space, so track toy plans will have to be on hold for a while. Ive thought about just getting a garage somewhere but would prefer it to be nearby at home so I can simply go and have a play/tinker with it as and when the urge strikes.

Makes you mad when things like this happen. Stupid arses that dont respect other peoples property and think theiving a z emblem off a keyring is ok. Just one step up from the scrotums that nick valve caps for their bike. You can but hope that someone of some sort of responsibility from Luton Airparks reads this post and uses whatever noddle they have to see that negative posts like this could cost them more than replacing your Z key fob. Just look at it this way, their lack of respect and concern for other peoples property is why you are jetting off to Greece for a holiday and they are stuck in a wet rainy blighty parking other peoples cars.

Hard Candy, Purple Haze, Blue Velvet.... The mind boggles as to exactly what the designers are smoking or watching when they come up with these names...

The threads have been split so as to have the two seperate events, rather than having people add their names to two lists within one thread - if we got to 50, then each post could be 100 or more lines long! 1. The sad part about the story is that this is the sort of service we prepare ourselves to expect from dealers rather than the exception.

If you have taken the shot in RAW mode on your camera, then you will usually find that the exposure setting can be adjusted on the existing image before playing with it in photoshop. My Nikon takes raw images in NEF format, when I open these in Photoshop, Nikons software opens up first, allowing me to make the adjustments (exposure) then click open - when it opens in Photoshop it opens with the changes I just made in the Nikon software. I then save this image as "under2.jpg" (for underexposed 2 stops), then repeat the process adjusting for the next image - under1.jpg, and so on until I get the required number of photos at the required exposure stops. If its just a single JPG file I doubt it can be done. Once the detail in the highlights has been blown out, it cant be put back in afterward on a flat JPG image.

The amazing thing is he just looks as if he is jogging, and plain showboats toward the end. If he ran flat out he wouldnt have just beaten the world records, he would have destroyed them. The way he won the 100m, running his last 15m with arms outstretched and cheering whilst the rest of the field was still going hell for leather was incredible!

Just spoke with Paul, and yes its his for sale. He is enjoying the Harley now and to quote "Its the greatest buzz for years". So cant really fault the logic of selling the car if its just sat there doing nothing. Can vouch for the quality of the work done on the car though, as its the same place that did mine.
-
Yup - certainly looks like Pauls, and I dont know of any other 57 plate UY. I know he bought a Harley shortly after having the work done on the Z, and got quite involved with going on ride outs etc. Ive not seen the car for a good while and wouldnt be surprised if he has moved it on. Ive not seen him for a good while though, although he only works a spit away on the same business park Ive never had enough time to wander over for a chat.
