Berkcan started following Hello Everyone! Late Welcome Message :)
-
Hello everyone, I’ve been driving my 350Z for quite a while now, but I’ve just realised I never actually introduced myself here in the introduction section! You can actually find my car thread over in the Wanted section — I bought the car thanks to this very forum. It’s a 2006 RevUp model, and when I bought it, it had around 73,000 miles on the clock. Two years later, it’s now sitting at roughly 79,000 miles. I wanted to share a bit about what’s been done to the car — both what it already had when I bought it and the modifications I’ve added since. When I bought it, the car already had: Japan Racing JR5 Wheels ISR Catback Single Exit Exhaust ARC Air Intake System Nismo Style Front Lip After driving it in this setup for quite some time, I decided to start making the updates I’d always dreamed of. There’s a long list in my head, but I’ll just share what I’ve done so far. It’s a bit of a story, so here goes… When I first got the car, it already had a Nismo-style front lip. Personally, I didn’t love the look with just the front lip — it felt incomplete. So the first thing I did was order a set of side skirts from Tarmac Sportz and had them fitted. In my opinion, the car’s stance completely changed — it looked so much more balanced. Without the skirts, it really did look too plain. Of course, with the new side skirts and front lip, the rear end started to look a bit empty. I’ve always loved the 380RS body kit, so after a lot of searching, I ordered a Nismo V3-style spoiler, again from Tarmac Sportz. Once fitted, it looked great — but it made me realise the rear spats needed updating too. So I went back to Tarmac Sportz and ordered a set of Nismo N1-style rear spats, which really tied everything together in terms of the body kit. For now, that was the exterior just how I wanted it. After another good stretch of driving, I started to feel that the car’s sound wasn’t quite doing it for me anymore. It still had the stock catalytic converters, so it was time for a decat. After some research, I decided to go for Berk Technology decats, which I thought would pair nicely with my ISR Single Exit exhaust. Once fitted — that raspy, aggressive tone was exactly what I’d been looking for. I’ve never been a fan of the DE bonnet design, so I thought I’d upgrade to an HR bonnet. One thing led to another, and during the Black Friday sales I found myself ordering a Seibon carbon HR-style bonnet — couldn’t resist the deal! That’s everything I’ve done so far, but I’ve got a long list of future plans. Next up, I’m looking at getting carbon front fenders, because I just can’t resist a bit of carbon. Once again, hi to everyone — I’ve attended a few meets already, and I’m looking forward to many more! You can see the car’s first look and its current setup in the photos. Your garage is badass bro!

@DoogyRev Nice big space there. You need some Mustang merch to make the most of it whilst you've got it! @Keith D Quality looking set of tools there bud! @Stutopia Decent space mate, nice and tidy too. 😎

Yeah this has cost me just over £900 for 5.2m x 4.8m. They do unbranded alternatives on eBay of what is probably the same stuff, but maybe for 70% of the cost. What swung it for me ultimately though is i've been planning to epoxy my floor for the last 5 years and i'm just never going to get round to it... so paying slightly more for something that i could implement in just a few hours was worth it to me. What do i think of it... it's not as sturdy as i thought it'd be... there's a slight clicky noise when you walk on it. Impressed at how clean it seems to stay though, with all the dirt just falling through the gaps!

What did you think of the flooring? I've been googling all different kinds only thing thats put me off is pricing. I'm looking somewhere between 800 to a grand for slightly bigger then normal single garage which seems steep to me. Can I ask what yours cost?

Stutopia started following Show us your garage!

I was feeling pretty good about acquiring my first ever garage space, until I saw this thread You've got some great spaces there lads!
-
My garage is a bit of a building site, I'm extending it from a double to a triple to make rook for another project - something rusty that needs a bare shell rebuild I do like an obnoxiously large tool box maxed out with shadow foam OCD though 🤣
-
Looks good 😊
-
I like the flooring 👌

It really was! It's a small miracle I got the wiring for the steering wheel controls right first time! But very happy with the results. I've never done anything more than plug and play before. But this worked well. By the way auto wire stripping tool is the best thing ever! (New favourite tool)
-
Looks like a bit of a rats nest of wiring. Nice work on being able to get the steering wheel controls back working! 😎
-
I love your lotus
-
Looks great! Loving the storage. 😎

Who doesn't love a look at a nice garage? Let's see what you're working with... Here's mine. I fitted the Swisstrax flooring last week. Debating whether to paint the walls black now to carry on with the theme. One for spring when the weather warms up...

Off the shelf Kicker subwoofer install
HEADPHONES replied to HEADPHONES's topic in I.C.E & Electronics
I thought I'd prefer the tighter more accurate sound of a sealed subwoofer, but in this case, the downward firing one with the additional passive radiator is more to my taste as it gives a boost like a ported sub for us bass heads😄. So the sealed one now lives in my Kia. -
So after 20 years ownership I finally added more bass to my 350z. To be honest, with the EQ adding extra bass from my aftermarket JVC headunit, the stock Bose sub was 80% to 90% satisfactory for my needs. I was wary upgrading due to past tinnitus from previous cars where I installed 12 and 15 inch subs........young and dumb back then I had a 600w Alpine mini block amp fitted in both my Zed and my Kia Sportage. I then purchased 2 Kicker subs A compact sealed 12 inch with 88db sensitivity, and a 12 inch with an additional 12 inch passive radiator with an 98db sensitivity. Both fit in the Zed boot nicely, with the sealed one giving me more boot space. Amp is fitted under the floor of the glove box behind the passenger seat. OEM 10 inch is still active with the crossover set to let the new sub just fill in the lows the BOSE can't reach. However, the sound in my Kia is better despite not having an OEM sub. If I adjust the crossover to allow the new sub to be more noticeable, the overlap with the Bose sub introduced an unpleasant mid bass peak. I'm planning to get my installer to fit a switch to disable/enable the stock Bose 10" for times when I need a full empty boot.

If the defect isn't too big you might be able to get a good repair with Granville Sealant

So I decided to bite the bullet and bought the Redline Oil: I must say, only been out for a 15 minute drive today plus the initial drive back from garage but gears feel much smoother. So new 2nd and 4th Synchros fitted and the "right" oil in. I took it upto about 80 in 3rd (6k revs) and no issues into 4th so will wait now until new season with fingers crossed that its one less thing to worry about. 2nd was always stiff and now feels completely different as well. Obviously too early to recommend this oil over anything else but will update this next year IF it does the business. Who knew too slippy could be bad.

Found the leak its the top hard line running from the pump to the power steering rack. Can anybody point me in the direction of replacement parts? Also what is the bit dangling down to the right of the first image. Its completely free to swing around, looks like it should be screwed in somewhere...

Hi, I have stripped a 41 thousand mile Convertible to rebuild my Sunset Coupe and am now done with the remains. Probably will only interest anyone in the South London / Kent Area as i'm in Sunny Sidcup but the shell would be ideal for cuts as the Arches / sills area thats usually rotten is as you'd expect at this mileage all good as are the front chassis legs. I'm happy for this to go free to anyone who could collect. It's not rolling but is currently on Skates so i can get it onto the front drive for loading. I can hold fire on getting rid of it for a couple of weeks if anyones interested but if i don't get any sign of interest within a week i'll send it to the scrappie as i'm sure my neighbours will be glad that i'm not turning it into a Hot Tub as i told them them to wind them up. My Nos 07340 576367 please call if you are interested. Regards

Found an old topic on the site where opie oils recommended just this Redline product So the Gearbox company may have a point, may need to get this?
