Dynamic Turtle Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 (edited) Anyone with a ramp and the tools want to do this with me? Simple job but I have neither... £100 cash? Located in SW London. Edited June 19, 2015 by Dynamic Turtle Quote
Dynamic Turtle Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 Four months since the nipples were twisted... Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Alex, just go to Sly@Kaizer, spend some time looking at his GT-Rs while he's doing that for you. Quote
Dynamic Turtle Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 He's booked this weekend and £72+VAT p/h for 2.5 hours is a lot of cash. I know he's highly regarded but this is a very simple job, not a GTR engine transplant... Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 £72/h + VAT? Are you sure? Last time I've checked he was at £50/h + VAT. I'll be surprised if that was correct. Quote
sipar69 Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 (edited) It can occasionally be a bit of a pig of a job, from what I've read - the bolts at the engine end can be difficult. Ordinarily I'd suggest TGM in Fleet, but the roadworks on the M3 make it a pain in the backside to get there. Edited June 19, 2015 by sipar69 1 Quote
Dynamic Turtle Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 The video shows it not all plain sailing and some bolts are best accessed through the engine bay with a very long....umm....tool. Kaiser appears to have increased his prices rather a lot in that case.... Quote
ioneabee Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 I did my own - its more than a bitch of a job - get Sly to do it for you ......... job done as I recall it took me 2 days - (whole system) but even on a car that was no more than 3 months old those bolts down through the bay were damn near impossible - I nearly gave up 1 Quote
gsexr Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Good excuse to buy the right tools for the job 1 Quote
ioneabee Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 it wasn't the wrong tools - they were already pretty much seized Quote
Mark@Abbey m/s Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Did you get them fitted? We can sort from Wednesdy onwards as we have a a new member of staff starting as we are so busy. 1 Quote
Grundy Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Either do it yourself or just take it to the cheapest garage, which would seem like Abbey... It's not a complex job, so any garage can do it. Quote

I took it to a local garage on saturday morning but couldn't get the car INTO it because gap from the road to the entrance was too V shaped for the Nismo's splitter to accommodate! How retarded is that? Didn't have any planks of 2x4 to help it along... I'll email Scott to see if you have any ramp time this thursday (or saturday) to so the job, thanks for offering. Just hope the newbie has had enough training on VQs before, don't want him learning on my car ;-) Cheers. Quote
