JwBye19 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Just been quoted £295 for a 81k P1 service, the chap that owned it before me had had the full P3 for that price as the car had been in storage. It's like Nissan are trying to have my pants down. Quote
Ekona Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Main dealer in expensive servicing shock. They have to pay for the nice uniforms and the posh showroom and the official name somehow. You can haggle them down though, so don't be put off by the first price. Quote

Just seems ridiculous for what's little more than an oil change, I'm going to try another dealer which I can get company discount on and see where that goes, if not a local garage Quote
Ekona Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I wouldn't pay it either, certainly not on an 81K Nissan, but if you want FDSH then there's a price to be paid for that. What was the break down on it? That's where it gets really fun to see. 1 Quote
Mudman Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Crazy - go local - I can give you details of the guys I use in Kings Lynn if you are close - Cambs being neighbours ! . They are very good Quote
RobPhoboS Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I cant see why anyone with a car over 50k would bother with a dealer, just a decent independent will do. Keeping receipts of work done is far more useful than a log book with just planky stamps in it (imho). Quote
maddog1982 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Ive just paid £48 for a P1 service supplying my own oil, filter and sump plug Quote
-Bradders- Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Ive just paid £48 for a P1 service supplying my own oil, filter and sump plug If you had the stuff ready, should do it yourself. takes less than 30 mins lol. Quote
maddog1982 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Yup I know, but I couldn't be bothered and dont have a low jack etc. Stayed with the car and they really did check everything out while the oil was draining. Quote
ilogikal1 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Ive just paid £48 for a P1 service supplying my own oil, filter and sump plug But how much did the oil, filter and sump plug cost you on top of that? What you mean is, you've just £48 for a P1 service labour. Quote
burgs Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Why do you need a low jack? Just drive onto a piece of wood to get jack under. Or do you not have a piece of wood either Quote

JwBye19 Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 May of posted this already but didn't show. Got a price for £140 at a Marshall Nissan in bury, company discount got me down to that price, parts at cost + 10% and labour at £45 an hour Quote
martybhoy Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 That's crazy prices. Thankfully I have Braehead Infiniti relatively close and they do a wonderful job. So I won't see past them. Quote
KUGT4 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 my experience - 5l oil deducted from nissan service = £60 - picked up same for £20 from ebay ...though having said that - i'd still get the car checked out properly to nissan specs at a nissan service Quote
